Somewhat Disappointed

Overall, reasonably good. Lots of problems with the business tab and the retirement part of it. In that tab, it appears to show I can still contribute $46,500 to a SEP, but that contribution does not affect my overall tax. Other places in the Turbo Tax code, it appears to contradict the business tab. Finally, no matter what I do, the high level of the business tab for retirement still states "available" in green. Is that a mistake that the "available" in green never seems to go away. It is very confusing. Turbo Tax can and should make their software better.

Turbotax is about to go to the trash heap

I don't need 'tax experts.' I've been filling out the same topics for 20 years using turbotax. What I DO need is Windos10 support. I refuse to use Windows 11 for security and privacy concerns. Instead, by using Turbotax, I have now exposed my information in ways I can't get back. Many of my fellow IT specialists agree which is why we have refused to 'upgrade' to that worthless product. If Windows 10 isn't supported, I wouldn't expect that many of us will continue to use Turbotax. With what I've done for the last 20 years, it's easy enough to fill out the forms directly, it's just 'easier' to use the UI and not need to 'search' for changes. Having to only use 1 windows 11 machine (my wife's) and only being able to use it when it's not in use (scheduling is a thing) instead of the other 20 computers here is extremely difficult.

Thumbs down for 2025

Very difficult to use this year compared to previous years. AI help not very helpful. Should not need to log into a Intuit account to get help from the software. Was very confusing to navigate when questions arose. I will compare various tax software next year rather than assume that Turbo Tax would be the go to.

Issues with TurboTax 2025 Home & Business

1. I had completed my taxes and TurboTax said i needed to update for my state taxes. i updated ad my tax record was not saved. TurboTax did not say to save my file. when TurboTax came back up my return was gone. I had to re-enter all my data again. I when from a refund of $800+ to owing $379. I was very upset. TurboTax should save after each section automatically so this doesn't happen. 2. AMT section should instructions how to enter the amount. I was very confusing and i had to keep entering numbers until TurboTax would accept the entry. I don't know if it was correct of not. 3. Why do additional state returns cost so much? I'm not happy about that.

Comfortably The Same

I've been using this product ever since schedule F was no longer included on the product I used to use; it's been a very long time. There is way more in this product than I need since our farm is a very small, family-run operation. I like the fact that there are very little changes (in the program itself, not the federal tax code!) so I can get through my taxes without going up a steep learning curve every year. Taxes in general are exhausting enough as it is, right? I'll use Turbo Tax until I die. It's that comfortable.

My husband is still working and has earned income, I am fully retired and on disability, per Turbo Tax for 2025 my $17,614 of disability, ZERO was taxable...IRS says otherwise and the Taxed me on 50% and kept our Refund due to mathematical Errors......soooo, now I have to stress and deal with the IRS, NOT HAPPY may switch to H&R Block software in the future.

Turbotax in Macbook and Window pc

I have used TurboTax on Window pc over a decade. It is the first time using TurboTax on a MacBook. The interface is quite different than previous Windows versions. Previous Window versions are intuitively obvious. Mac version is harder to navigate. The worst is that it automatically saves the tax file every few minutes. Users should have the control when to save the file.

TurboTax continues to frustrate me

User experience still feels early-1990s-like, and the persistent bug of not calculating the mortgage deduction correctly has persisted for at least the past 3+ years. I have to hack it every single year to apply the 750/1M limit correctly. Have been a loyal customer for > 20 yrs, but doubt I will use again next year.

Some Aggravation

As I'm winding down my business, my Schedule F doesn't use as many of the lines as I had in prior years. Turbo wouldn't let me leave those categories blank, and I had to put in zeroes for each one I was no longer using. Even then, it wouldn't always "take" all the zero entries I input on the first try. Aggravating. The biggest issue isn't with you, but the constant escalation of the tax laws. Grrrr.

CA tax module does not handle IRA distribution wel

CA tax module does not handle IRA distribution well. My 1099-R Col 16 is empty, software said just use the $ amount in Col 1 or 2 to put it in Line 4 --IRA distribution adjustment. It made a big refund for me, but I know this is not correct. After reading the rule of federal and CA, both treat taxable the same way, there should not be an adjustment to put in Line 4. I put zero in Line 4 and it show due amount for me.
