Good

My experience was good it may have been better as for turbo tax mixes things around in occasions trying to move me out of the program, also the save button needs to be added also needs more self guidance and simplicity also the price for e file and adding states should be lower considering the cost of the program selected

Intuit needs some major product management refocus

- You cannot automatically import business data from QuickBooks Online, Intuit's own SaaS accounting software! Same for TurboTax online. That is the most inexcusable thing for a premier software company that presents itself as focused on SMBs. - Interface with CHASE Bank for business loans does not split principal from interest, requiring complete manual re-entry. - Interface with eTrade missed one of two 1099-R records. Both records had to be entered manually.

TurboTax is taxing and much more expensive

You buy the initial product and then they charge you for state tax return and charge for audit defense and charge and charge and charge if they can. Typical offer a basic product at a low?? price and keep tacking on fees after the purchaser has committed time and resources. Typical stunt

Turbotax - the transition from PC to Mac

Turbotax does its job, A few small glitches. Wound not import a 2024 tax file; Had to open it as a new tax filing to get it to import. Insisted I had a Canadian Retirement account when I don't. But all in all it is a major step up from the competition. I have used Turbotax for over a decade on PC and now this year on Mac (no win 11 for me) It was just as easy.

Very Disappointed Customer for Decades

I have been huge advocate of TT for many years. This year is different. First I discovered they did away with the "Its Deductible" feature for tracking charitable donations. Then, I found that TT does not accurately allow accept the depreciation and expenses associated with a Short Term Rental (STR) that is used part-time as a vacation home and in which we actively and materially participate in the management of. In order to complete my taxes accurately, I had to over-ride several cells on the forms. Little did I know, by doing so, TT would not allow me to E-File. However, TT was quick to take my $75 to E-File in 3 separate states, then not allow me to E-File. What?! Now I am out that $75, and had to print off 228 pages to manually mail my returns to the IRS and 3 states. I am confident in the accuracy of my overrides and should be allowed to acknowledge the variance and move forward with the E-filing. Not to mention, I shouldn't have to pay to E-file three state returns, only to be told TT will not allow it. Very disappointed and will be looking at all other options next year!

We could have hired a CPA for the same cost.

Things I hate about using turbo tax is 1. my dad helped me file my taxes and you made us both buy separate copies of your software. That is not how you advertise it. 2. The donation calculator is no longer included, and we had to list the cost of all our donations manually. 3. You charge extra for state preparation and for electronic filing. After we paid so much for the software you nickel and dimed us for another couple hundred more.

Excellent tax software.

Been a TurboTax user since the start, many years ago. Works well and user interface consistency over the years makes working with it easy. Importing previous year's returns helps to ensure I address similar income or deduction year over year. Simplifies jumping to sections I need to input information into.

turbotax is decent but OS support is horrendous.

the app definitely helps. However, I don't appreciate the fact you don't even bother to support software versions even a few years old. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever my few year old computer/os shouldn't be able to do basic things like a simple tax/forms app. If you're gonna do that, especially to lower income people like me, then you better be buying me that new tech since you insist everybody must use the newest stuff. Not everyone can easily afford that like your devs/execs that made this dumb decision.

Needs a few adjiustments

When trying to import my financial statements the screen did not change when I hit the allow button. It was only after I mimnized the screen that I saw the documents queued up for import. I would change that to go to the second screen automatically.

Not so User friendly after all

1. I made an error and automatically clicked on "block" to a pop-up when trying to download broker account data. There was no ability to go back and correct. 2. most annoying was that you no longer provide option to print and file state tax returns. Your only choices are "e-file now" o "e-file later". If you continue to make your product less user friendly I will find other options
