turboitax crashes and failsto startup reliabily in windows 11 environment. speciifcally it creates files during opening that begin with an invalid character per onedrive and other syncing systems. The interface on startup is the same as years ago and is just boring fails to provide the why it takes so long. checking is slow even with a 1g internet line. Had to reload again this year and the analysis and advise tab is unhelpful. I need to evaluate next years taxes and it does not allow to do planning. ie ss increases by 2.8%, interest will increase 5% what is the correct fed and state taxes owed. PS: i go back to the second year of turbo tax using it on a network before a network version existed. Made a good side hassle moving accountants to the platform.

Just give me a menu and a price list upfront. Let me choose my options and know what I'm paying for then charge me one time for all of it instead of - finish return, save - select help, save, pull up charges, enter personal information, enter payment, save payment, download, review, - select additional state, repeat those other steps, - audit review, repeat, efile, repeat those steps again, enter banking information, enter driver's license, repeat banking information for each state, pull hair out from all of the additional unnecessary steps.

Started with the On-Line version this year. Did NOT like it. Almost done and I went back to doing it all over again with the desktop version. Something didn't make sense and found that I had 'imported' vanguard data that I already had entered. Have a big problem with needing a separate field to list what the IRS calculated RMD basis for each account SEPARATE from what I happened to withdraw to achieve the combination of my QCD and my RMD. Has to search for the QCD (it is only listed as Charity - not QCD) entry. No simple way to see total of all my accounts that require an RMD, and what my RMD & QCD were.

after many years, this is still just a so-so software. Answers to questions can never be found and always take you to the web to try and search them out, and always takes you no where you were looking for. There should be a LOT moecear expalantions when it comes to deductions instead of just some general ideas. I also HATE that this software does not allow more useful tools. Everything is robotic and you can never find the answers you are looking for

Was needlessly asking for a password I did not understand. Would not transfer data from the previous year. Steered me to online tax filing when I had paid to download the application. Took 20-30 minutes to find the download page. Getting started was stressful, buggy, and not easy.

TurboTax still does not generate a LA form 10606 for out-of-state income despite repeated requests to do so over the last several years. It must be done manually. This is ironic, since one of the worksheets has exactly the information needed to fill out the form. Any reason why TurboTax continues to refuse to address this issue?

This was my first year using Premier or business modules. I feel as a TurboTax user for years, there should be a way to search for a given "schedule" or sheet while filling out my taxes and have TurboTax take me to that sheet. For example. If I want to go to Schedule C to review my info I should be able to search for Schedule C and Schedule C or associated entries pop up in my return to review or add data. This was very difficult to find where my information was being stored for certain entries related to a given schedule.

Turbo tax has user interface problem. At the end when we try to file our state tax return, it does not ask us to enter our credit card. Instead, it asks us to enter our billing address. The dialog box is too big so we cannot see the action button at the bottom. The credit card does not go through and we don't know why and don't know how we can correct it.

Been using Turbo Tax for many years. Wouldn't want to use anything else. It's nice to be able to populate my current years return with past information instead of having to start over every year. One recommendation would be to allow for the option to call a Turbo Tax representative and ask a question without having to pay to do it. Even if you were limited to a certain number of questions that would be okay. Sometimes with all the changes it would be nice to be able to know you are a phone call away.

needs too many updates which could lead to mistake but if you have a family of four like me and doing taxes for all of us it is quite annoying having to reboot, also forms are not visibly easy to see, correcting mistakes is almost impossible, you have to go and restart the whole thing agan
