Love Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and this year was no exception. With all of the tax law changes, TurboTax had all updates to make this task easy. There was a small glitch when originally e-filing as it was asking for information for a form that was not applicable to us Form 7205. Reading the help comments you had to find it on line 27 of Schedule C which had a filled in 0. Overriding the 0 to leave it blank resolved the problem, and allowed completion of 2025 taxes. I would not choose another brand of tax software. Turbotax is the most thorough, reliable, and ease of use.

Mixed feedback

Have used it for many years with confidence. This year used it for a 529 plan for the first time. Extremely disappointed in calculations. It kept trying to tax me for QUALIFIED distributions and a 10% penalty in the federal return. Ran though it multiple times end to end and pulled somebody in as well to review. Bad interface and calculation for that esp. given 529 has been around for many years.

Software glitches

I have been using TurboTax for years and I have had more problems than I have ever had with the software. 1. Miss ItsDeductible...this is a key feature. 2. Downloading from my bank did not work the first few times. 3. Could not transmit my taxes the first time. Told me it needed more info and then kept going in a loop. I had to shut everything down and then went through everything again to transmit. Took me three times to do this.

Good but...

The software is easy to work with. However, Turbo Tax took for ever to bring forms that were already available to the public by the IRS or certain forms are still missing or are sill missing (f7720) . It is also quite irritating that TurboTax essentially charges to file the taxes and receive a refund in the tune of $65.00, I have already paid to obtain the software.

TTaax desktop

confusing nstructions led me to file a CA state return doubling the tax I really owed. I have to file a correction to tha return now. Also when I tried to use any of my 3 credit cards it would not accept any of them because they all had a exp date greater than 08. I had to use my wife's card w exp date of 04. The drop down for the cr card month would not ttake a number higher than 08 and min=y cards all expire with 09

TurboTax is Great, but not perfect-still recommend

Overall continue to love the TurboTax Home and Business product. I have two recommended areas of improvement: 1) provide a search option to search forms and the tool for specific keywords. This would have saved me over an hour of frustration and an ultimate call to your technical support to find where the new 2025 SSA tax deduction was being addressed. 2) there are still bugs that show up in the final review that the Interface did not ask me about during the input process that I had to struggle with, namely depreciation on a second vehicle that was used for my wife's business. It was in a crazy loop and I finally found a way out.

Most annoying Turbo Tax year ever. Out of 29 year

I have used Turbo Tax Home and Business for 29 years. I have had more problems this year. Beginning with activation. I was not aware for some time that I needed Windows 11 to activate. My problem, but the many time I logged into Intuit, I did not see any reference to Windows 11. Seems there were not as many help topics on many items. Specifically, I problem was detected during review. I was instructed to open file and enter numbers, whatever that meant. I think I did this okay, but took quite awhile to figure out. I think Intuit is simply looking to sell its $60 fee. One thing I did like was the rejected returns automatically came into the return and were very helpful.

Desktop version took a big step backward

The desktop version was frustrating this year, especially for crypto. The online product has a much better import and automation workflow, while the desktop version felt clunky, outdated, and far more manual. It makes no sense that a paid desktop product would have worse crypto handling than the online version. The biggest issue was having to do extra manual work for crypto reporting that the online version seems to handle much better. That is a major downgrade in usability. I’m also unhappy with the audit defense offering on desktop. It appears to cost more than other options while offering less coverage than the web version. Charging more for shorter coverage makes the desktop product feel like a worse value overall. TurboTax desktop used to feel like the more capable option. This year it felt like the opposite.

Clergy housing allowance nightmare

Have used TT for years. Horrible experience this 2025 year for clergy housing allowance! System would not let tax return be submitted with the input of correct figures. 5 attempts were made to submit after following the Community directions for this issue and, finally, after the 5th, the system let the return be submitted. Hopefully, everything worked out and my return was accepted at the proper facility. Hours were spent trying to find a solution to the problem. Unsatisfactory TT.

duplication of insurance

duplication of health insurance

I've used turbo tax for many years. This years was not friendly. e.g. It printed Form 2210 page 3 twice, the first time with data and the second time without data; I had issues when doing itemized deductions, we have SSA 1099, and when doing itemized deductions it included the health insurance twice.
