I have been using Turbo Tax since 2008 and find it an exceptional tool for doing my taxes! I have used the Home & Business version to guide me through the ever-changing income tax laws to insure accurate reporting of my taxes for the past 17 years! I like the easy-to-use features of the program and access to professional help, if needed. Turbo Tax offers Peace of Mind at Tax Time!

Positive: TurboTax is incredibly user-friendly and excels at identifying maximum deductions with minimal effort. I appreciated the step-by-step guidance through various tax topics, which made the process feel thorough and manageable. Negative: I was disappointed by an undisclosed third-party fee required to receive two of my federal returns; this lack of transparency is a dealbreaker that may lead me to switch providers for 2026. Additionally, the desktop version requires lengthy updates every time the app is opened, sometimes taking up to 10 minutes, which is a significant hit to productivity.

It has been many years since I used TurboTax to do my taxes and instead, I have used an accountant. In 2024, it cost more than $1,200.00 to get my taxes done. This year (2025) it cost around $170 all-in including access to a live tax consultant and my state e-file fee! Simple, easy, timely and I feel very confident in the results. TurboTax literally walks you through and explains everything. Will definitely use it again!

The software is easy to work with. However, Turbo Tax took for ever to bring forms that were already available to the public by the IRS or certain forms are still missing or are sill missing (f7720) . It is also quite irritating that TurboTax essentially charges to file the taxes and receive a refund in the tune of $65.00, I have already paid to obtain the software.

I find TurboTax to be quite comprehensive. Th only issues I had pertained to using the search function to drill down (foreign income and tax). I actually appreciate the level of detail and the pathways set up for me in order to leave no stone unturned.

Need improvement in few places, one place where, how to select backdoor Roth conversion. A wrong choice can end up paying taxes on this. Need some clarification on if you are doing backdoor conversion, select this option, rather than allowing user select a wrong one and end up paying tax.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years, almost 20 years and were happy with it. However, this year Turbo Tax 2025 is very buggy. On first run after installation it hung. I tried to quit it and it didn't. Then I used windows task manager and it could not even end the task. This is worst of all. Any decent application when you End the task it gracefully ends. Finally I had to restart the Window to restart Turbo Tax. I'm a software developer myself. This is the ultimate no no for a software that requires OS restart to remove it's processes. This is a serious P1/S1 bug that you guys need to fix. The same thing happened when I was filing my returns and when I was trying to pay the state filing fee, Turbo Tax required me to sing in. when I entered my credential, it hung again and same thing as before had to restart the Window to be able to restart TT. This is like a rookie programmer wrote the software.

I have been generally very happy with TurboTax for years. But one issue that a tripped me up in the past two years is when I import a 1099-R and it has a blank field for State Distribution (16). Turbotax puts a value in that doesn't work and then it doesn't find it's own problem in the review process and it comes up after going all the way through submission of the taxes which forces me to go all the way back to the form, fix it, and then click through all of the File questions to get back to Submit. Seems like a clear miss on the review procs.

For the most part, doing my Federal (with Schedule C) and NC state returns were simple. Places where improvement could be made are: * Handling of K1s on both Federal and State returns * Being able to view forms in a separate window. When doing estimates for next years income and expenses, it would have been helpful to look at the forms with this year's values at the same time. When doing state K1, it would have been helpful to look at Federal K1 worksheets. * In printing for review, it says it will only print the forms being submitted to the govt, but it printed all the worksheets as well. Give us a choice of only the forms or everything before filing and after. * In printing a long return (mine was 110 pages with worksheets), double sided is best, but the estimated tax coupons print 1 to a page, so all are on 2 pages (back to back) and I have to reprint. Why not print them all on one page and save paper. * Don't push to online only

Needs more explanation about what other aspects of your return may be affected if you opt to do something. Also needs better navigation within the app for those of us that jump around a bit. You currently have to go through so many screens to get to where you are trying to go. That feels clunky and antiquated.
