Everything worked well for us. We e-filed both the federal and state returns. It was easy. We did have to look up a few things on google to understand a question. Also, it is not intuitive to know where to enter state estimated tax payments (actually part of the federal form).

I am able to calculate my taxes myself using TurboTax.Have done so for several years. I now use the home-and-business version. The interface is pretty good; handy retrieval from prior year's return. Nice break-out bubbles for explanations in context, helpful on-line community, and easy access to purchase individual help. Didn't need that help this year, but last year the person was knowledgeable and courteous. I will use TurboTax again next year.

Overall great product. Easy to use for both business and personal taxes. I have been using it for over 20 years. I especially like the option to pick and choose what I work on for data input. Given my familiarity with the product and tax filing I don't need to use the option to walk me through it. I also like the feature to switch between the specific form format and the topical data entry format to check my work. Another great feature is the ability for Turbo Tax to gather, save and process previous year's data, especially for the business depreciation.

I have been very happy with TurboTax for the last 20 years. There have been some minor issues, but I do a little research and find a resolution in the TurboTax help. I was very disappointed this year to see It's Deductible is gone. That was a great feature that I always told people about. I was also frustrated when I started 2025 taxes and kept getting routed to the online version using expert advice. Most people use TurboTax because they don't need the expert advice. Please continue building a product for those of us who are comfortable using TurboTax without expert advice.

I've used TurboTax for most of the years I have used tax products. To say that it is the least troublesome product is not a compliment. I've tried using other tax software because I don't like TurboTax and the other products were worse. EVERY YEAR it leaves selections blank and asks me to re-enter the same information. It also doesn't transfer my bank account information for prior year Direct Deposits to the current year. Every year the Review process tells me that there are fields which must have an entry, even a 0, but the Step By Step never asked me to enter the info. This year the software wane me to choose paper or Direct Deposit refund and wouldn't let me choose to apply my refund to the next year WHICH I BELIEVE HAS ALSO HAPPENED IN T PAST and I have to leave Step By Step in order to manually enter that options, the return to Step By Step to complete the return and E-FIle. ALL SIMPLE STUFF which is a pain to manage. Even this review, my user ID is purefct and this year I had to set the "Nickname" to purefct2 because even though I logged into my Intuit account earlier, as well as via the Turbotax software, it says that "someone else" is already using purefct. Have used it for many years with confidence. This year used it for a 529 plan for the first time. Extremely disappointed in calculations. It kept trying to tax me for QUALIFIED distributions and a 10% penalty in the federal return. Ran though it multiple times end to end and pulled somebody in as well to review. Bad interface and calculation for that esp. given 529 has been around for many years.

Every year my taxes are rejected the first time. it is the same issue every year. Although I don't have children I qualify for a small EIC credit but this requires form 8862 and for some reason turbo tax doesn't automatically fill this form out and I have to go to "open form" , fill out manually, resubmit my taxes.

Turbo tax does not do timber tax sales justice. Many nuances for the investment, hobby, part time timber grower/seller. Often no 1099 ever given to seller. Some aspects of the new 2025 Turbotax does not, NOT offer the ability to add details on specific capital gains items and other places where it would be good.

When I went to e-file my state return the dropdown menu for expiration month of my credit card would only show 01-08. I tried various settings on my computer didn't help. Tried Turbo Tax help and could not find any support without paying a fee. An IT problem like this should always be free. I ended up using a different credit card with an expiration in the allowed range.

TurboTax help is often incorrect and misleading. So far as I can see, there is no way to use the desktop TurboTax and import the completed desktop TurboTax file into online TurboTax. TurboTax desktop makes mistakes, for example, after importing 1099-R forms the taxes paid on the IRA and 401k distributions was not captured.
