I have been using Turbo Tax for several years now and I can confidently say that it is user friendly and easy to use. The federal and state returns I have e-filed have mad e tax preparation easier that having to bring all your paperwork to a tax preparer. I love the availability of Audit Defense as well, as it provides an additional layer of peace of mind in knowing that I am covered in case of an audit.

This years Software was a bit glitchy. A few times after I completed an input the program would shut down completely and I would have to reopen and go to the section I was inputting to repeat the input. This only happened about 3 or 4 times and I was able to quickly get back in and continuje. Other than that, the software performed as expected.

Process was great. I had a couple of different issues this year that were confusing to me. My only complaint was getting help from call center. First time, I had someone I could not understand. Second try, it routed me out of the call. Finally, last call was good and I got a very helpful person.

SOMETIMES THE QUESTIONS ARE POSED OR ASKED BUT THE SOFTWARE DOES NOT TELL YOU WHY. IT WOULD BE BETTER TO ALWSYS BE TOLD WHY THE INQUIRY INSTEAD OF EXPAINING IT AFTER ONE HAS INPUTED THE NUMBERS. FOR INSTANCE WHEN FILLING OUT 1095-A INFORMATION, LET US KNOW WHY SUDDENLY THE REFUND DISAPEARS AND GOES WAY US AS A DEBIT. IT FREAKS ONE OUT. TELL US AHEAD OF TIME WHY THE NUMBERS WILL CHANGE. IT WAS EXPLAINED IN THE END BUT NOT BEFORE PUTTING ONE INTO SHOCK. THE SAME WITH THE VEHICLE TAX CREDIT. EXPLAIN THAT TH INFRATION NEEDS TO BE INPUTED SO THAT THE TAX CREDIT ALREADY APPLIED AT POINT OF SALE NEEDS TO BE CONFIRMED. THAT THE TAXPAYER IS REALLY OR WAS REALLY ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE IT.

I've used TurboTax for over 20 years. It continues to provide what I need to get my taxes done with good confidence that they are correct and I haven't missed any deductions or ways to save money. There are always some pain points. Not being able to file for an extension from within the desktop product is EXTREMELY annoying, and inexcusable from a UX perspective. Providing some handholding when dealing with the complexities of Schedule K-1's would be a good improvement. I *will* use it again next year. :-)

I used the paid version. When I by a product, it shouldn't be an non-stop sales pitch to try to get me to by more add-ons. Especially when it's the same thing I've declined multiple times already. Fed up with this, have used TurboTax for many years, but this is my last time.

I've used TurboTax since 2006. Each year they seem to build in more frustration points. This year I had one Crash of the program and 2 errors to fix that had no information relating to what was needed for the data being asked for. It did have a reference to a line in the 2024 tax filing, and my 2024 TurboTax file had nothing in that reference box. The second error was on a 1099-R that had a blank box 16. I had to go search the internet for that answer - you're supposed to put the amount in box 14 into box 16 as well. Oh, and one more big issue - I was not able to import any 1099-DIV's, INT's, or R's, and I've been able to do that in previous versions since it was offered. Looking these issues up on TT Support, I did not find any solutions to these issues. Looks like after 20 years I'll be paying someone next year...

I would have liked to upload a pdf copy of all my tax docs and let the program enter all the info from those docs. I had to enter many of them manually. And if there was an area to upload all of my documents, I couldn't find it. Other than that, it was a great service.

Needs to be better. Turbo tax has been around for too long to have stupid glitches... forcing a Canadian pension document when im not Canadian with no pension? really? Needs to be smarter with state exemptions for US gov't interest investments. Needs to be better with financial institution importing. I dont want to fix every mistake of the import. It should be streamlined already. If there is a zero cost basis fund, then the system should recognize that, chat gpt shouldn't have to guide me through it. Do better.

I received a 1099-LTC. I tried to add a 1099 form, but the LTC form was not listed. I had to call Turbo Tax Help and waited on hold for about 25 minutes. When I was connected to Marvin, it took us another 40 minutes to find the Form 8853. MARVIN WAS WONDERFUL! However, the LTC help was incorrect. The first step of the help box was to go to the Federal Tab. There is no Federal Tab on the screen. The customer help screen and the staff's help were both incorrect. Marvin was finally able to get me to the Personal tab, then Personal Income, then 1099 A and C tab, then Other Income/Loss, and final to the form 8853. All this staff time and my time could have been avoided by having a 1099-LTC form.
