TurboTax generally works well. But there are annoyances. Examples: I live in a no tax state and I have already told the program we have no income from other states. However, TurboTax continuously asks me to download/complete/file a state return. It's irritating. Why do I need to sign onto TurboTax to use the scan your W-2 feature? The repeated sales pitches are also annoying, but I guess you have to expect that. I did file a state return for my mom. Even though Turbotax says a free state return is included, they don't tell you they charge you $25 to e-file it. Very sneaky.

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years. For the most part, it is easy to understand and follow. My main frustration was the delay of having some of the forms available. Form 1099-R is helpful for tax planning. I could have used the full capability sooner for planning ROTH conversion amounts for the year. Hopefully, next year these will be available sooner.

I have been suing TurboTax for 25 years plus. It is a great product. The 2025 desktop return was a little glitchy, I did an update and all my data disappeared! Monique with tech support was great and was able to retrieve my data, roughly 10 hours worth of input. Also, the State return got into an endless loop, I was able to download software fro that removed all state returns and then proceed.m Turbotax

I did not appreciate the confusing final filing message stating I could not file as yet. It was referring to an unfinished state tax return but it appeared as if you were not going to let me efile my federal return. The older versions of Turbo recognized that Washington State is a non-income tax state but your new versions cause a lot of unnecessary steps by not recognizing this fact upfront. Hope you can adjust this in the future.

No, we did not use a person. We E-file the federal tax and mail the state tax or hand deliver each year. Please make it easier to file each in that method. I have to say I am Maling the state tax and do not want to E-File or mail Feder at that time. Then go back and say I want to E-File Federal. It looks like I do not file my state taxes.

the software does not do quality checks. Just discovered that my state return was filed with error. Turbo tax never cross-checked my residency with the fact that w2 showed lower amount of wages for my residency state. Or at least could have raised it as a red flag.

If could give a zero i would. Trying to force people to use the online that you neglected the desktop version. Been using Turbo Tax for 20 years now. I think this is my last year! Generally very good tool to lead you through the labyrinth of tax rules and forms. It would improve the product for users to help distinguish between whether farm income and expense is best entered as self-employment or as farm income. The program will let you enter the same information in both areas without any warning that you are double counting.

DID NOT GIVE ME OPTIONS TO SAVE DURING DATA ENTRY PROCESS. LOCKED UP AFTER 3 HOURS WORK AND LOST EVERYTHING BECAUSE I HAD TO FORCE QUIT. THEN HAD TO START OVER. ALSO COULD NOT PRINT JUST MY STATE FORM FOR MAILING (MORE DIFFICULT THAN PREVIOUS YEARS. I HAVE BEEN USING TURBOTAX FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS. TOO MANY ADS FOR ADDITIONAL TUROTAX SDRVICES. The accuracy of the computations is most helpful and the compatibility of the Program from year to year assists enormously. I did not enter any questions as I prefer speaking to an individual versus typing questions due to the fact that "speech" provides better communication and prevents misunderstanding of inquiries' & answers' detail besides saving time. Additionally, I would like for Turbo Tax to re-institute the use of "Tutorials" as was utilized in earlier versions as I have been using the Turbo Tax Program since 2000.
