Problems with Schedule F, lines 4a and 4b.

Regarding the 1099-G form for agricultural program payments under Farm Income (Schedule F, line 4a.), there needs to be a question asked as to how much is taxable in order for TurboTax to properly transfer the amount to line 4b. Without this, TurboTax failed to include the 1099-G amount as taxable farm income. This resulted in a lot of time spent deleting and re-entering the 1099-G, thinking it was an failture on our part to enter it correctly. The TurboTax AI chat incorrectly told me that I could not modify the actual form Schedule F in the desktop version of 2025 Home and Business. So I didn't even give that option any further consideration. The chat could not answer my question. I asked to speak to someone and was told I would have to call the customer service number. I called on my landline and waited on hold for a whole hour to speak to someone. The representative answered, I explained my problem, asked if I could modify the Schedule F form directly and was told I could not. Then the call got garbled and I was disconnected. So frustrating. I resorted to asking Google and read a response that suggested I COULD modify the actual Schedule F form in the 2025 Home and Business desktop version. The toolbar area above the olive green tab area is so light and greyed out that it is difficult to see or notice. We finally figured out that we could click into the forms (a grey out icon of a document). We manually made the correction, entering the 1099-G amount in Schedule F, line 4b.

TurboTax Dropped the Ball for 2025 Returns

Normally review TurboTax Home & Business with 4 or 5 stars. 2 stars for 2025 because of the bugs affecting (or lack of features to support) ICHRAs and the healthcare marketplace. I had to mail hard copy returns after making manual corrections to form 1095-A and 8962. TurboTax kept forcing a premium tax credit refund even though I am not eligible for the refund because I was covered by an ICHRA. Very disappointing and sucked up a ton of time!

Need desktop version without internet requirement

The internet requirements make it quite a chore and I will most likely seek a different alternative next year. I have used turbo tax for over 20 years and always buy the desk top version because i live on a large farm without internet. Additionally, the new "two factor authentication" was a VERY inconvenient surprise. I originally used my landline for the phone number and never changed it, causing me to spend hours on the phone with customer service until I got someone to go to my house and answer the phone while I was in town at an internet location. Ended up having to do this AGAIN for STATE download. Your people assume every business has internet, but were you too busy eating to consider that most farms do not? Cows don't live on Main Street, USA and the federal government still considers internet "Entertainment" as is Cable TV. Hence local providers are not required to provide service (electricity and wired telephone ARE mandated by federal law to be provided as necessities). Satellite internet is expensive and doesn't work in poor weather, which is the only time I am inside. Although this may be the "Digital Era" of the Oil Age, feeding humans is the single most important thing since the beginning of existence and will be as long a mankind is around.

Home and Business i

Home and Business has worked flawlessly for many years. This year I had a problem with a message saying, "Hmm, looks like we've hit a snag". "We recommend you revisit last topic.......". It was a bit stressful, but I called Customer support 888-777-4160 and got help right away. Catherine, listened to my issue, viewed my computer remotely, and suggested to shut the program down and reboot. It worked.!!! No further glitches. I have never had an issue in the MANY years of using TurboTax. I was VERY pleased customer support was easily available. Keep up serving the public with a "Live Person" to talk to.

Good product but could use better explanations

When I downloaded my turbo tax home and business, I ws asked if I wanted to file my taxes for free via the internet. I always do so but I was confused as I was now doing my taxes on the turbotax on line version. I wasted 90 minutes of inputting data and then I had to call turbo tax to ask why the 2025 version looked so different (after a 90 minute wait to talk to TT). I was then told I was not working on my laptop software but the TT internet software version. DO not ask such a confusing and ambiguous question or be more specific with your question. Otherwise , you have a good product. I must also add that the 2025 TT did NOT upload my data from my 2024 TT on my hard drive.

TT is okay: expensive!

Turbotax is expensive to begin with. State tax e-filing is additional! This year I realized that the default UI behavior of TT led to a big tax bill. It was so significant that I plan to amend my prior year's tax returns, as I have been using TT for many years. The issue is with backdoor roth conversion, or in general any rollover and state tax filing. In the state filing, it, by default doesn't prompt user that you may have already paid taxes on this rollover.

VERY GOOD BUT SOME GLICHES

i RAN INTO SEVERAL SYSTEM ERRORS AS I WAS FILING MY RETURNS. TURBOTAX CRASHED, THEN IT SAID THAT I NEED TO MAIL FORMS TO THE GOVERNMENT AFTER E-FILING, BUT, THE ADOBE ACROBAT FILE OF WHAT NEEDED TO BE MAILED WAS CORRUPTED AND I COULD NOT OPEN IT. YOUR LIMIT OF 3 STATE RETURNS VIA E-FILE IS INCONVENIENT AND INCOMPREHENSIBLE - WHY DO YOU LIMIT THEM?

:( Turbo Tax Tries to Upsell You :( :( :( !!!

:( :( :( Decent product - but HATE/DETEST/LOATHE the absolute perpetual upsell of it. I'd rather pay more upfront than have popups and prompts throughout the session/warnings to upgrade. And guess what - if you want to EFile your state taxes, it's $25 more. Also, making it extra for online help is VERY cheap. For this reason, I probably won't use Turbo Tax next year. Overall, a decent product, if they got rid of all the annoying attempts to upsell throughout when you use it, it might be worth it, but right now - it's not. :( :( :(

AI still needs work

transferring from previous returns and downloading from brokerage did make things a lot easier. however, it was difficult to find an answer to a question about changing something in the return. I had to go outside of the application, and outside of turbotax help to get the answer. Your AI bot has limited understanding of questions

Fool who used Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax is ruined by Commercial Greed

I am appalled at the cost of e-filing through Turbo Tax. Then, after I asked it to print my returns for the filing cabinet, it only printed the summary. 45 minutes later, I am still trying to print something that looks like a tax return. I will not be using turbo tax after this year.
