Terrible software program. During the final review< (after the other two review processes had been complete), it changed an entry in my state tax form thar caused the refund to be drastically reduced incorrectly. Now I have to file an amended state return.

I did not find the 2025 Turbo Tax as easy to navigate as in previous years. Also, I encountered a problem at the point of "analyzing return." There were two very insignificant entries to be corrected on the tax payment worksheet and the federal carry over worksheet. No matter what I tried, it would not let me make the change. So I called your help line and waited on hold for 25 minutes. The person I reached came onto my computer but could not correct the problem and put me on hold for about 20 minutes. Then the call disconnected. It was very frustrating.

Twice locked out of program asking for passwords that Turbotax created w/o my approval when saving file to another name. Made me restart entries once. Program froze up several times requiring computer reboots. Not easy to go to worksheets to input data as in past. A good list of worksheets was not readily available. Had trouble with downloading state version.

I have used TurboTax for more than 25 years. I always get accurate results and have never been audited. This year I had a minor problem - I indicated in the program that I wanted it to maximize all authorized IRA contributions. My wife's SEP IRA contribution was calculated exactly right. The program said I might be eligible for an $8000. traditional IRA contribution. After having the calculations made it said I was not eligible for that contribution since I am retired and not employed. However in the worksheets for the return, it indicated that I HAD made an $8000 NON-deductible Traditional IRA contribution which I had NOT made. I did not discover this until AFTER I filed my return. Fortunately, it did not affect my return for this year but I believe it could have caused me problems in the future by making a non-deductible contribution to a Traditional IRA. Fortunately I have been able to reopen my tax file and find the places where the non-deductible IRA was recorded and change it from $8000 to zero. I re-saved my return after these corrections. So when my information from this year is imported next year this error should not go forward.

I shouldn't have to enter repetitive information multiple times. Why do I have to enter bank account information four or five times? Why do I have to enter my name just as many times? My name doesn't change in the time it takes to do my taxes. Pass word needed should be more descriptive. I had to call to find out the password needed was the one I sign into my computer. How stupid.

I continue to use Turbo Tax because it makes my tax preparation seamless. I recommend it regularly to friends and family. One criticism I have is what feel like unnecessary fees. I appreciate that Turbo Tax cannot control the fact that my state (MA) charges $25 for me to e-File, but maybe that cost is something that should be covered with me getting my "free" state and paying $100+ for the software to begin with. Related to that, you encourage users like me to e-File, and I find it ironic that a couple of pages later I learn that I need to pay $40 to e-File. Seemed a bit shady.

TT had yet one more bug this year on form 8829 when you have two businesses sharing the same home office. It was incorrectly adding together the RE Taxes and trying to limit it to $40k Salt Deduction despite the amount being below $40K as TT is adding it together even though the boxes on sharing the home office was correctly checked between the two businesses, Give that 2024 had a lower $10K SALT limit this new edit check makes no sense. As it only is applying the portion of the home office that was split. This cost me 10 hours to troubleshoot and do my own work around to address. I also found a bug in 2024 related to NYS Tuition Deduction that it was picking up incorrectly off the federal form and incorrectly giving me a credit which I do not get as out of state non resident which also was not resolved and had to do a work around that also took hours.

i was not happy that you forced people to get windows 11 or else they can't use your product. Also, when trying to use turbo tax it keeps encouraging us to switch to online instead of using the $120 product that we already bought. Online is not better as you claim, yes, you can file state for free, but you lose ability to file the 5 free federal taxes that we've paid for already. The pushing, multiple times, throughout the program to get us to pay for "professional help" is very annoying, ask once and take no for an answer. It seems to me that you are just out for money any way you can get it. You should think more about loyalty to your customers that have remained loyal to you for 15yrs plus.

I have used TurboTax on Window pc over a decade. It is the first time using TurboTax on a MacBook. The interface is quite different than previous Windows versions. Previous Window versions are intuitively obvious. Mac version is harder to navigate. The worst is that it automatically saves the tax file every few minutes. Users should have the control when to save the file.

I have been very happy with TurboTax for the last 20 years. There have been some minor issues, but I do a little research and find a resolution in the TurboTax help. I was very disappointed this year to see It's Deductible is gone. That was a great feature that I always told people about. I was also frustrated when I started 2025 taxes and kept getting routed to the online version using expert advice. Most people use TurboTax because they don't need the expert advice. Please continue building a product for those of us who are comfortable using TurboTax without expert advice.
