I've used TT several years, and someone really needs to go through the program carefully. I am a computer expert, and I can see numerous places where info is left out. I realize you want to make money having an expert help with taxes, but clarity is important for those of us who can do it.

Still ask same questions over and over each time I go back to check on my entries. It also overcharged me for e-filing as I did not get the store credit I was suppposed to get (Turbo Tax noted that I would, but at the time of payment, charged full amount. In addition, there seems to be a glitch. I added 3 assets for my rental to get additional depreciation, but It kept giving me an error that assets for section 179 were for current year only. Not sure why. It asked me to clear the checkbox, which I did by blanking it out and also by selecting no entry. It would still keep coming back no matter how many times I tried.

Reasonable tax return software. Would score higher except for constant upselling and the worst part is hidden fees. Decided to pay for the state efile this year - especially with a $10 club credit towards it. Went to pay with credit card and they wanted to bill me the full $25. So, backed all the way out of that and chose paying it from my refund - and immediately got hit with a processing fee of $40 on top of the $25 (although on this path they did give me the $10 credit for a total cost of $55) So, google searched and found the processing fee only applies when using the take it from my refund option. So backed out again, paid the credit card and I guess lost my $10 credit. The $40 fee, especially not being disclosed up front, seems extremely abusive to me.

Software is painfully slow when entering or editing assets in the depreciation section for rental properties. It has gotten slower every year regardless if I use the online version or the desktop version. I'm going to have to switch to a better program for next year.

Worst year of program Turbo Tax has ever put out. I tried and tried to file and could not e-file due to an error that would NOT correct! Printed out all forms as they were and mailed them. Got them back 2 months later with errors. Installed Turbo Tax for small business and home and re-did all over again. SAME thing happened, would not let me e-file due to some form 7205 which I don't recall every signing up for? Had to print AGAIN and will mail tomorrow---WITH error again. I will be spending my money with a tax accountant next year and skipping this madness.

I have been using it for years and it works, easier than paper forms and hand calculations. I'm over 65 now and it never prompted me to fill out the Massachusetts Circuit Breaker form that saved me a couple thousand dollars refund on my home real estate taxes. A friend told me about it and I had to file amended for a couple years back, wish I found out about it sooner. I wonder what else I am missing.

Overall, I still like the program and think it is very good. The help and ability to flag topics is very useful. There are a few changes I did not like: 1) The W2, Interest, and Dividend inputs were very difficult if you did not import the information, 2) When importing a Consolidated 1099 all sales were imported individually, rather than by section, even though there were not adjustments, 3) Would be nice to be able to skip Medical Expenses, 4) The NYS 2-year summary is no longer available.

I find TurboTax easy to use. Explanation and flags for review are helpful. But for some reason, they refuse to add form 8621 to the package. It is not included. They have other foreign forms (e.g., Form 8938) but not this one. This prevents me from e-filing. Very frustrated. For the price, it is should be included.

TurboTax proved to be a mixed experience for me this year. While generally helpful, certain sections were incredibly confusing, forcing me to rely heavily on AI tools to decipher what was being asked and how to proceed. My biggest issue, however, was a critical failure in the payment process. Despite setting up direct debit, TurboTax failed to deduct the taxes I owed from my bank account. As a result, I'm now facing hundreds of dollars in penalties, which is incredibly frustrating and costly.

TurboTax always has some issue every year. I haven't gone one year without something needing a work around or getting sucked into researching why something isn't working as it should. I end up getting it to work, but it seems overly cumbersome. These issues typically relate to K-1 information, and I realize there are a lot of things to cover, but every year there is an issue.
