Poor programming; problems not yet fixed in March

March 12, 2026, and I'm still finding errors in the desktop version for my 2025 taxes. For 5695's line 17 a,b,c don't match my answers to the interview questions, had to change them on the form manually. At least using the desktop version I can change those forms using the show form option, but come-on, this is just poor. Other people having other issues with that form.

"Try again" screen credit card failure

Unfortunately this 2025 year, the California State Tax Return couldn't be e-filed due to several unsupported forms, that could not be removed and then persist as removed (appeared back after deleting). This was on Windows 11. Customer support helped to identify the bug and/or unsupported feature problem. The symptom was choosing credit card payment kept failing with the "Try again" screen. Deleting the form didn't help. Had to mail the printed form instead.

NOT HAPPY THIS YEAR GUYS

Thank you for this opportunity. My name is Gary and I've used Turbotax for over 20 years. I come from a time where we owned the software and controlled our own data. Intuit has been moving away from that business model for some time. This year was the worse. I was forced to migrate to a new computer (Windows 10 issue) and decided to go from windows based to Apple. Big problem. Turbotax (iOS) didn't recognize 2024 return and your professional staff on the phone wasn't proficient on iOS. There was a break in the chain from 2024 to 2025. It's like starting over from scratch. The que for support should have a windows group and an iOS group. I know it's not Turbotax's job to support the O/S but your "Pro" should be proficient in the platform on which your product is running on. NOT HAPPY THIS YEAR GUYS PS. The Apple version of Intuit's products is so different than Windows based that I felt like I was back to square one and it introduced so much frustration that I wanted to scream. I don't know what can be done but some kind of transitioning holding hand would have helped.

Not intuitive and must enter common info repetitiv

I shouldn't have to enter repetitive information multiple times. Why do I have to enter bank account information four or five times? Why do I have to enter my name just as many times? My name doesn't change in the time it takes to do my taxes. Pass word needed should be more descriptive. I had to call to find out the password needed was the one I sign into my computer. How stupid.

Turbo tax is very good

It works for me and I did 2 farms, a real estate investment, and an out of country filer. I've only found a few things where it does'nt ask proper questions to get you to the right form.. One being schedule FC-a on the Wisconsin form and another that doesn't give you a way to enter info on the first page of 4797.. Otherwise it works well.

TurboTax can make anyone a Tax Expert!

I started with TurboTax Deluxe in 2007. In later years after I started my small business I switched to TurboTax Home and Business. One year I hired a "Professional Tax Service" who made a basic error and I had to amend with TurboTax. Another year when I was audited, I chose a local CPA with great recommendations online. That was a wasted hour of my money and my life! I had more knowledge from TurboTax, then he had from school.

SOFTWARE CRASHED MULTIPLE TIMES

IT WAS AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE. THE SOFTWARE STOPPED WORKING AT THE END OF THE FIRST DATA ENTRY AND I LOST ALL DATA. THE SECOND TIME AROUND, IT SHUT DOWN ON ITS OWN A HALF DOZEN TIMES BUT DIDNT LOSE ANY DATA, MIRACULOUSLY I THINK. THE SOFTWARE MAY BE AS SIMPLE AS IT CAN GET GIVEN THE MASSIVELY COMPLEX TAX CODE. BUT I FELT RANSACKED - ESPECIALLY AT THE END WHEN YOU REQUIRED MORE MONEY TO FILE, AT WHICH POINT, I A SURE YOU KNEW I WOULD BE TOO EXHAUSTED TO RESIST

Old bugs worked out but some new ones added

I have used TurboTax for at least 25 years. This year I elected to do it online and it did not find my return or even prompt me to direct the program to it so I had to fill in all the data that would have been inserted automatically. I hope that is fixed for next year. I had to Google a couple obscure investment related topics that were not explained in the program. This rating program is screwy - it won't let me type what I want to say without guessing what it should say. Disturbing!! It was not clear that I could avoid a $20 fee if I don't pay with my refund. It should be clearer.

TurboTax failed me this year

I have used TurboTax desktop for over 15 years. I have always been very pleased with it an the ease of use, until this year. Initially the 2025 version wouldn't recognize my 2024 tax file document for transfer after multiple different attempts. So, I had to start from scratch entering all of our information which. Then, as I completed the federal return ready to transition to the state filing, TruboTax stalled for 10min at the point it should have prompted me to save the federal filing. I had to force the program to quit which resulted in the loss of the entire filing and having to start over from the beginning. When I did restart the program it miraculously recognized my 2024 filing which saved me a little. Ultimately, after using TurboTax this year, I question if I will use it again

I found a glitch

2 items: 1. Why am I charged $40 to process the direct deposit refund? People have told me that they file online & don't get charged for direct deposit. What gives? 2. The program missed the IRS change of no more refund checks being issued. I file my son's return & requested a check. I got a letter from the IRS stating they can't issue the refund because there wasn't proper info for direct deposit as the IRS is no longer issuing checks.
