DO NOT use the online. Use on your computer.

Tried the Online rather than save to computer. Got halfway through and the program dropped. When I logged back in NONE of the work I had done including small business was saved. Redid everything and actually more because it would not pull information like it did the first time from last year's info and I had to add that manually as well. Will probably use TurboTax next year so it will (hopefully) pull this year's info but will never use your online option.

Turbo Tax 2025

Excellent ,Turbo Tax has helped me provide the most accurate returns with audit protection and has has gotten greater refunds and the most tax savings . Turbo Tax has been infinitely better than H+R Block or any accountant tax preparations with far more deductions ,tax savings and audit protection than any of these other tax services at about one tenth the cost of these other tax prep services.

This is year is very disappointing

This year has bugs with the Education Credits. I called to report. I had to waste time going through Turbo Tax if this, then check this. We did that. The issue was the flow of answered questions. "Yes", pursuing degree on the required page flowed through as "no" on the page that mattered to the calculation. After all that, I get the response that, yes, this issue has been reported. Then I get a closed ticket and request for my opinion. I go back in, and it is not fixed. Urgh! No. Ticket should not be closed. I call a few days later to ask if same issue is showing on Deluxe as the Home and Business. Again, some runaround... may I see your screen. yes, on so on. Issue, not resolved. Finally a week later, I think, maybe if I use step by step instead of forms input. mmm I removed the 1098-T links, deleted the people and student worksheets and used the step by step method instead of forms. It worked. I still haven't heard if Turbo tax has resolved the questionnaire flow issue. And then, I just filed my return (the 3rd), after my mom and daughter's, and it tells me that I have used all 5 of my federal filings which is not true. I have 2 more to file. I hope that will not be another time sucker to fix, but I'm not holding my breath! Ok, it's filed, but it wouldn't let me print without telling them why I don't add their live audit/audit function....mmmmmm See above.

Might be the last year I use it

Quickly becoming obsolete. Needs massive update in the age of AI. Way too many redundant questions and not filling in stuff it already knows about. Also doing product updates a few days before you file? What about those that already filed? Do better.

Generally love TurboTax desktop but had glitches

Love the ability and help TurboTax provides with filling taxes independently. I have used the desktop version in the past but my 2025 Mac system had some glitches this year that made some of the work through complicated with errors I had to manually fix in the files themselves.

Charitable Deductions sec of Turbo Tax needs work

I had a large number of charitable deductions to enter into the program. As I reached a high number of entries the system to a point where the program just about crapped out. It took several minutes for the system to react to a single key stroke. I upgraded to the personal/business version and I was able to enter the rest of my charitable deductions without a problem. Several other issues: (1) When entering a number in the charitable deductions section if a typo error was made, it was not possible to backspace and eliminate the character - I had to go back and delete the entire deduction and re-enter it (very frustrating); 2. If you enter donated item data and then enter mileage data, and then come back and try to enter another donated item, the system will not let you do that. You must first eliminate the mileage entry, then enter the donated item data, and then re-enter the mileage data. In previous years you could enter individual trip mileages and associated costs associated with those trips. Lumping all of the mileages together simplifies somethings but it does away with specificity. (3) The categories of donated items are very limited - many things can be donated, such as garden related items, such as home grown produce, purchased topsoil, seeds, etc. (4) the entire program is inadequate when it comes to easily including items purchased by volunteers that are used in performing volunteer activities, i.e., seeds to grow garden produce for donation, printer cartridges and printer paper used to conduct volunteer related paperwork, etc. The only way these things can be currently is to put them in the donated category (of which the categories included in the program do not line up easily with the items (definitions of intangible property or tangible properties are never defined and or they just do not seem to meet what would be definitions that line up with so many things used by volunteers when they perform volunteer activities and which they pay for out of their own pockets. Rest of program is ok - the charitable deductions section really needs some reworking.

Turbotax H&B great, but not with some minor flaws

Overall, this is a great product that I use for my taxes. I have been using this specific product for several years. The ease of use makes this product great and less painful than entering all the data myself for my investment accounts. The problems are a few, but noticeable. Every year is something different with Turbotax in terms of miscellaneous errors and problems. This year, I needed find last year's W2 data and input this manually instead of turbotax pulling the data by itself (even though it pulled other tax year's information). Additionally, every year Turbotax misses spots in the forms. Most frustrating this year was while finishing my NY state taxes, there was an inability to advance forward to submit taxes as I wanted to set-up direct deposit for estimated taxes later on and not through Turbotax. Like a hardstop, cannot submit my taxes until I pay estimated taxes via direct deposit. I feel like Intuit has their customers self-report errors for their forms and debugs months later after most users have worked around it. The problem is you cannot easily report it. Why are you making customers pay $60 for live support when there are legitimate issues that should be reported immediately so you can help all customers with these problems?

No support for Form 8990

Kind of a bummer that I have to download from IRS Form 8990 (Limitation on Business Interest Expense) since TurboTax Home and Office does not support that Form. AND, I can't file electronically as a result, since there is no way to attach the form electronically. Otherwise, this version works quite well for me. For me, the Form resulted in no disallowance of any Business Interest Expense from the Master Limited Partnership's K-1. Seems like if there was a way to enter an person's estimated taxable income when doing K-1s, that 99% of this "problem" for taxpayers would result in no disallowance. Just Saying . . .

TurboTax is awesome, some glitches this year

I have been suing TurboTax for 25 years plus. It is a great product. The 2025 desktop return was a little glitchy, I did an update and all my data disappeared! Monique with tech support was great and was able to retrieve my data, roughly 10 hours worth of input. Also, the State return got into an endless loop, I was able to download software fro that removed all state returns and then proceed.m Turbotax

Form 3520 Problem Still Exists

TurboTax is overall a good program but for the third year in a row you have made it a requirement to file the federal return by paper if you file a form 3520. The 3520 is required to be filed separately from your 1040 and the requirement to file it by paper doesn't require a paper filing of the 1040. You had this correct for years but now prohibit it. Also the step by step version of the non-resident NJ return did not flow well. Otherwise the program seemed good.
