TurboTax Home and Business 2025

Turbo Tax is great. Led me through the whole process even with the over abundance of 1099 forms that we had this year. Used the tax advice service, which is a great deal for only $60. She helped me resolve the only error from the forms and everything is good. Only have one recommendation, that is for importing information from other sites, I didn't like the way it made everything available (all accounts), but did like being able to use a PDF file for the W-2. It would be great if that function was also available for other import sections.

TurboTax needs some fixing

The new version is relatively ok to work through, but I had major issues transmitting the forms. The TurboTax program locked up on my computer for hours. Finally had to call and ask for help. The agent I got was nice and super proficient, we finally decided to send the federal forms separately. I will send the state after the feds accept theirs. That is a pain in the butt, but it worked..

A Step Backward

You have made it more difficult to enter the interest and dividends by not just having them appear, one after the other, for input. You have the list - use it as you did before. Do not mix interest and dividends in alpha order. That's not the way they are worked with. Why ask me for totals that are in the already input data to determine estimated payments when you are going to give me the options with percentages related to last year? I paid for the state filing, but the explanation only said the federal had been filed. I guess I wait and see if you filed the state. Overall, the product was a step down from last year.

Online Version is a trap

Turbo tax desktop kept prompting me to switch to online. I did so and determined that it couldn't handle my complex tax situation. I had to be on the phone for 6 hours to finally get switched back and filed without getting charged a second time. Customer service was a nightmare, nobody knew how to help me until I finally spoke to my 7th representitive who actually could help.

2025 version not as user friendly

The changes to entering dividends, etc is very confusing. I spent more time deleting duplicated forms, etc than it took to actually complete the return. We also have to click NEXT too many times. Please include 2 or 3 questions on a page before we have to click NEXT

K1 input very wonky

The K1 input section doesn't seem to flow properly to the 1040. I had to not show any info for line 13 of the k1 and just net it from line 11 in order to get it to flow through properly to the 1040. If I input line 13 expense items they all flowed to Schedule A instead of offsetting K1 business income. Every year the K1 input section is very difficult. Also this year the federal return wouldn't print the nice summary page. Also for some reason I had to go into my intuit account just to use my credit card to pay the $25 state filing fee.

Some tricky things that need fixing

I find that some of the categories I am afraid not to put even a zero value in. Then when the checklist- review comes up I have all these issues that need to be resolved. Yet in the checklist-review correction thing, you cannot get rid of the zero mistake and leave it empty. you have to spend bucket loads of time finding the thing in "forms" or sometimes "walk me through everything". This could be solved by just letting you make the correction in the checklist-review, or just say in the "walk me through everything" that you need to leave it blank. I'm no tax expert obviously, but I have used Turbotax Home and Business for years. Please make it easier for us dummies.

Not intuitive and must enter common info repetitiv

I shouldn't have to enter repetitive information multiple times. Why do I have to enter bank account information four or five times? Why do I have to enter my name just as many times? My name doesn't change in the time it takes to do my taxes. Pass word needed should be more descriptive. I had to call to find out the password needed was the one I sign into my computer. How stupid.

TurboTax is Expensive!

While I like TurboTax for the most part, the fees are getting ridiculous. For instance, Illinois does not charge for e-filing, but TurboTax charges $25. Forget the "free" state download. I also thought the $40 fee to take the $25 state e-filing fee out of the tax refund was outrageous. I already paid over $80 for the program (when taxes are included).

Trubro tax sill has bug in Febraury 2026

Your 195-A form review keeps telling both to enter a number in each table entry and remov it. I cant do both and it keeps erroring out. I hope my Return transmitted anyway. It would have been nice if this bug was removed before I started using the software.
