Seems more complicated than in years past.

I found it difficult to erase mistakes. I inadvertently added my 1099 for secretarial work (covered separately) into the line that asked for the same but into my wife's online book business. I could erase the amount but the program continued to ascribe it as an error and highlighted the box as such.

Long time user, still some annoyances

While I have been using TurboTax since 1987, there are still some annoyances in the current versions. One is that you can't mark some fields as "estimated" (this really helps when starting to input placemarker data before final reports are available). A bunch of other annoyances that I don't have time to list here. I'm dismayed to find out you no longer support Windows 10 for the 2025 tax year.

Turbotax good but stop making us buy new computers

TurboTax is great however I do not appreciate that every few years we are forced to buy a new computer because in the latest version you have written code so that it will not work on our older computers. The refund I am getting will just cover the cost of the new computer I had to purchase to use the 2025 TurboTax. And no my returns are too complex to use your online TurboTax product. I have to use the Home and Business version.

step backwards this year

The application was a large step backwards this year - Less information an explanation on the entry pages throughout the program - explanations were less complete than previous years - the application kept skipping sections when hitting continue - I did not want toI did not want to change to the online version this year because I assumed the desktop because I assumed the desktop app would have gotten better and I did not want to deal with new foibles being online... - more difficulty finding the proper pages for input when going back to enter or correct data

A Good Product but Could Use Better Search

Given that the tax code is overly complicated I appreciate being able to use TurboTax with confidence. I feel that more is needed to be able to work within the software. I find it difficult to search for a topic. for example, I needed to find where to enter K-1 information. I used the step-by-step and the forms section and found it took a long time - the search routine is poor. Further, I wanted to be able to generate a report that can show me a current summary of income, taxes, deductions, penalties, etc. during the entry process. Maybe include and ad hoc report generator just to know what is missing or completed.

Not happy

Very unsatisfied with TurboTax 2025. I've been using TurboTax since at least 2012, and I felt like it was getting better for a while, but has now been getting worse for the last few years. This year it pulled in a corrupted version of my 2024 filing which I didn't catch until I was about to file and noticed that the last year's AGI that you're asked to verify for some reason, didn't make any sense. So I went into the forms and realized that the 2024 values in the two-year tax comparison form were all wrong. I tried to fix them there, but they seemed to show up in too many places throughout the many many forms included, so I had to give up and start a whole new filing. Very frustrating. There should be a way to delete and re-enter the last year's data without having to start all over again. I even had to re-purchase the state efiling which I had already done in the corrupted version of my filing, so I lost $20 to this issue. I'm also very disappointed that It's Deductible has been removed. That was one of my favorite features of the software. I'm definitely going to explore other options for next year. If I can't trust the software to import last year's data, and I'm not getting the functionality of It's Deductible, sticking with this product is not looking very attractive. Oh, and it's also annoying that auto fill doesn't work in the payment pop-ups.

A Necessary Evil, unfortunately.

Had completed 95% of my 2025 return, only the actual transfers to the retirement account were outstanding. TurboTax application installed an update and I lost all of my progress and had to start over from scratch. Then I was unable to edit the value for self-employed health insurance without going directly to the Forms backup worksheet. Why is not an option available in the step-by-step menus?

You guys are disappointing this time

TurboTax used to be very easy to use, but this time I experienced significant challenges with e-filing my tax return, due to the bug of Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Deduction with a "0" entry by default. It blocked my e-filing for Federal filing and wasted almost my entire day to search online and finally got it resolved. Not sure how you guys can provide this kind of service to your loyal customers. Shame on you guys and I will consider finding an alternative for my future returns!

Supprised

I have been using Turbo Tas for about 25 years with super results. This year I was greatly surprised when you called in a third party to apply some of my refund to the state tax I owe. I was shocked and greatly dismayed when I received the email announcing their intrusion into my taxes. I admit I did not read ALL the fine print which probably divulged the intrusion for a fee! I will continue using Turbo Tax and will definitely be more attentive to the fine print.

TurboTax is still the best.

I find Turbo Tax easy to use. I like the options to walk through everything or choose what to work on, which is easy if you just want to double-check something you've entered. The explanation of categories with samples of what is allowable is very helpful. Although I gave a 5-star rating, I found the requests for information on the state portion to be a bit confusing than last or previous years. I'm not sure if that is something requested by the state or something TurboTax changed. The filing of the returns was fast and efficient and the options of payment, etc., are convenient.
