TurboTax said that I had to paper file my federal return because of signatures needed on form 8283, but also that, because of the Massachusetts state Schedule 4% Surtax, I had to eFile my state tax. This is impossible to do in TurboTax. I had a PDF version of form 8283 with signatures that I could have inserted into the federal forms, but TurboTax does not let me do this.

In my turbotax, all the icons at the top are greyed out even I followed all the suggestions online. - after I e-filed and accepted both by federal and state, I am not able to view my bank account info. - during filing, not able to see the worksheet and forms.

Everything was great as usual. There were a few places where I searched the web to gain a better appreciation of the tax rules. I also think you could have communicated better regarding the delay due to tax changes affecting depreciation for rental properties.

I received a 1099-LTC. I tried to add a 1099 form, but the LTC form was not listed. I had to call Turbo Tax Help and waited on hold for about 25 minutes. When I was connected to Marvin, it took us another 40 minutes to find the Form 8853. MARVIN WAS WONDERFUL! However, the LTC help was incorrect. The first step of the help box was to go to the Federal Tab. There is no Federal Tab on the screen. The customer help screen and the staff's help were both incorrect. Marvin was finally able to get me to the Personal tab, then Personal Income, then 1099 A and C tab, then Other Income/Loss, and final to the form 8853. All this staff time and my time could have been avoided by having a 1099-LTC form.

I've used turbo tax for many years. This years was not friendly. e.g. It printed Form 2210 page 3 twice, the first time with data and the second time without data; I had issues when doing itemized deductions, we have SSA 1099, and when doing itemized deductions it included the health insurance twice.

Some features are not visible unless I run the program as administrator. Depreciation is difficult for me which is part of the reason why I use Turbo Tax, I had to pull the data myself from 2024 taxes which TT has done for me in the past, I also had to figure my own calculations - TT did not do that for me either. Also had to force the American Opportunity credit - TT would not add it even though I qualified for it.

Very confusing.... been filing my family tax returns for going on 40 yrs and never experienced so much confusion. What with "$40" for "tax preparation"... we already prepared the return... to a long time due to a lot of confusion... but we got thru it... now $40 charge for "tax preparation".... WOW!!! Very disappointed.

• Continually sends me emails recommending that I purchase Turbotax even weeks AFTER I have purchased and installed it. Similar to last year when I continued to receive weekly emails regarding late filing services 5-6 months after I had in fact, filed the return. • Schedule F: Failed to transfer 2024 farm income (as seen in the year-to-year comparisons) • Personal income section: Does not allow me to skip electronic import of investment data and go directly to manual input. Instead, it takes me to import, and when I enter “skip” it takes me to back to the initial page where it eventually allows me to manually enter the data. Very inefficient, and frankly wasteful and disrespectful of my time. Turbotax should have an up-front option to skip all electronic import and allow the user (i.e., the person who PAYS FOR this software) to manually enter data if he so chooses. o I note that in previous editions of Turbotax, there was a check-box with the option to stop asking the question. • Also, Turbotax added-in several “blank” or “Un-named” investment accounts which I am unable to delete. There is no data in these accounts, since they do not exist, but as a user I am not allowed the option to delete them. o Eventually I opened the “Forms View” and was able to delete the non-existent accounts. • On the screen “Other Interest and Dividends” TurboTax auto-checks for seller-financed mortgage interest (which I don't have) and does not allow me to un-check the box. • 1099-R: Turbotax imported the payer name for my pension, but it also imports the data from last year and does not allow me the option to update or edit any information for the current tax year. I was finally able to manually enter by going to the “Forms View” but it still won't allow me to edit information from the main “Step-by-Step” menu. o Eventually needed to enter “Form View” to delete the entire form and start again from scratch. • My state forms did not transfer my Federal pension exemption. Notes said to locate “Find” on toolbar, but there is no such term on the toolbar. Again, had to return to the “Form View” and delete the entire form, then re-enter the information. Once that was completed, the information was correct but there was no option to edit the data from the “Step-by-Step” screen.

I've used TTax for years now. My only complaint this year: I needed to upgrade to full Business version because I need to file a 1041. Unfortunately, that version doesn't run on a Mac, it PC only, BOOOO! I ended up doing it myself manually using Grok AI. hmmmm that might be an option for next year, just bypass TTax and let Grok talk me through it. HA

Software works as designed, but I found the additional information feature to be less than adequate. I spent more time looking up information outside of turbotax than being able to rely upon the information. I find the state tax return information to be very sparse.
