Too many glitches, too many mistakes

After decades of using TurboTax, this is the first year I have no confidence that my return is accurate. This is the first year I have downloaded the software (because I had no choice), and I had so many glitches. I found mistake after mistake, and I am worried about my return. First time I have ever had that concern. Will have to find an alternative for next year because I don't want this experience again.

TT is Awesome but no, I don't want to register

Functionally, TurboTax is awesome, and I have used it for many, many years. My only complaint is when opening my current return, I continue to have to answer the pop-up registration screen that "yes, I want to continue without providing all this information". I bought your product. Asking me once is OK. Asking me every time I open the file is ridiculous. Get rid of that foolishness and I'll give you 5 stars

SO EASY- SO SAFE!

My only complaint is that it was difficult to find where to enter my 529 contributions originally. I finally found it after restarting my state return. I'm sure it was something I did, but I tried everything to find it. Other than that, I have used TurboTax for 7 years and continue to be very satisfied. I could have it done in an hour if I didn't do it before I have received all my documents.

Why not Have a Choice to e-file Federal or State R

Had trouble to e-file state return one day after Federal was e-filed successfully. I had to say Yes to "e-file " Federal return even though I had filed it previously, before I can get toe-file my state return. Why not give people a ch0ice to do e-file either Federal or state return. I had to call the help line to get my answer after spending a frustrating half an hour on my own

Easy parts easier; difficult parts just as bad

I have used TurboTax for several years now. The experience pretty much is consistent: the imports from banks and financial institutions (e.g. Schwab; E*Trade, etc.) are for the most part OK once all the OAuth forms are filled out. This import is probably the one reason I use the Premier edition so that I don't have to manually add these sections. BUT... For this year, when TurboTax Premier tries to predict the income sections based on last year's return, it copied all the sections like 1040-INT, 1040-DIV, etc. Then after importing from the banks, instead of updating the corresponding sections, it added a duplicate section (i.e. for each bank, there are now 2 1040-INT sections), leaving one of them at $0. So now I have to delete the empty ones. And each time I delete one section, the screen scrolls to the top. So I have to scroll down to try to remember where I was. I ended up deleting ALL the previous copied sections and import again. Therefore, I had to repeat all the OAuth dance yet again for each bank. This is a pretty clumsy UI for a DESKTOP app in 2025. Many "less common" sections offer no help; I either had to know when to use what or I'd breeze through them with no help. This has always been the case. Lastly, during the error checking phase, when a section is found that needs fixing, it's not clear if I should enter the value as prompted on the screen or edit the preview of the tax form where the box is highlighted. Or should I do both? My guess is that all the focus is on the Web version of the product, and the desktop versions are left to die with the older folks. And oh by the way, the DVD is gone; I have to download the app now.

Great product and everyone should use it.

It takes you through the process step by step and makes sure it covers all. I really love the feature of downloading the W2 and 1099 forms directly which saves a ton of time and make sure the numbers are correct. Overall it took the same time I can spend with a tax advisor, but with a much lower cost and in a comfort of home.

Ok but needs 1 kickback and 1 additional feature

1. Automate which is better: Should I file married joint or separate? The software should tell you, NOT make you choose. That is 2. STOP making me log into TurboTax to enter my taxes. This is why I buy the desktop software. Now information is stored one more place that can be hacked.... Just let me keep it local on my computer and import the previous year to get started.

Support was great when needed.

Had to work through support to resolve a problem. I used turbotax to download information from Fifth Third Bank and it repeated the summary level information 10 times, overstating my interest earned by 10 times. Support helped me delete what was duplicated and enter it manually into turbotax.

Turbotax review

It's is a very good application for filing taxes and definitely good to use. It helps ou long to files your taxes correctly. Unfortunately, this year, we files out\r taxes 3 times and still waiting for a reply for the 3rd attempt. But this is rare and we never had this problem before.

2024 Disappointment

I have used Turbo Tax for years and this year was no different. However, the software is not up to par for 2024 tax season. I could not easily find my 2023 tax returns, cannot file a state return because the program keeps telling me I am not done. It doesn't show a federal return accepted and I can't eliminate a state that does not have a state tax. Needless to say, I am disappointed. I also believe it has something to do with using the program online. I don't know.
