- 5 out of 5 stars review3/22/2025Another year of taxes submitted and behind me. I'm and Engineer thus math and detail oriented. I have used Turbo Tax for several years and each year I get more comfortable with it. Each year my first time through the program is always the hardest as I reread many of the descriptions etc. But the more I use the program, the more confident I feel and by the time I get to the end, I'm sure I have answered all the questions and entered all the information correctly and I'm sure the software has correctly prepared the returns.

Everything else was right on. When I pulled info off old computer (turbo tax pdf file) to new computer. I could not pull the information from that document. It was very annoying had to input everything manually!

After reviewing the documents, I hit the Continue button and nothing happened. Tech support tried to be helpful but didn't have any idea what the problem was or how to correct it. I eventually uninstalled and reinstalled the program and then it worked fine.
Turbo Tax had a glitch

I owe $1600 federal tax and Turbotax says I need to pay estimated tax of over $6000 in 2025, that's WRONG. I work from home and pay estimated local tax to RITA. Form 37 doesn't work correctly. It says I owe almost $3000 in local tax. When I entered the tax I was obligated to pay Form 37 didn't apply it to my credit.
Turbotax is OK, but why are there always problems?

My state taxes always had to be filed on paper due to certain state credits not supported by their software. Complete pain in the behind. This was the first year I broke tradition and went with Turbo Tax instead. I was able to file both Federal & State together electronically. What a relief! Overall, the software is very informative and easy to use. Great import functionality with all major institutions available for electronic import. I will not be switching back to H&R desktop anytime soon, and I highly recommend this software for anyone on the fence in their software decisions.
First Time User - Great Experience

For non-old people that is the computer operating system before windows. Turbotax has helped me navigate through start-up and sale of businesses, rental real estate, and getting kids through college. Record keeping is still important but, once you have everything assembled, it is a breeze to get everything entered and e-filed. I can't see any reason to change.

I dislike being forced to use the online version with no option to purchase the disc. Various subtle changes on the 2024 filing program are also not an improvement at all. (ie INT and DIV etc) I will research H R Block to do my taxes for next year if nothing changes.
Turbo Tax is getting more $ and less user friendly

This is not an error. We live and work in separate states. I hoped the bug would have been corrected this year, but it wasn't. If nothing else, the Review flag should allow for an override to explain why the dates are correct. In addition, a bug exists in the 1099-B data entry screen. The "Learn more" link contains entries not in the "How did you acquire this asset" pull-down. I also inadvertently deleted a rental property asset and felt the best way to recover was to create a new Tax Return from scratch. It would have been nice if I could have run two instances ...

Had to search the Internet for a work-around. Also, would have been helpful to be able to print a list of the ERRORS found during the review.
