I have been user for more than twenty years perhaps more. The software often askes individual to enter information from previous tax year return while it has access to those forms itself. At the very least it can say point me to those returns. The help is awful. Many times the help uses the same confusing jargon as the federal tax forms and doesn't simplify the explanations. Navigating has gotten worse many times it doesn't go to next item on the list and instead one has to invoke review again.

I like that there are more options to connect my crypto transactions. I see that the uploading of the CSV file didn't error out. These improvements made my Filing Easier. There are some nags, but that's just to make sure you are entering the information correctly. I also like that I can connect my Turbo Tax Software with my online account. That's a PLUS! Audit Defense is always good. I found the process to be quicker this year and more precise, the Turbo Tax Lay out is not as busy and easy to navigate. I felt confident using Turbo Tax because there is no additional charge to talk to a live tax professional if I get stuck. I used them last year, they were a hit and miss, but usually a HIT! I didn't need them this year because I got very familiar with Turbo Tax and hope they don't change a thing. if anything, just add more automatic connections to Crypto Exchanges to Turbo Tax, like Uphold and a few others.

I had a very bad experience with the product. I have an unusual situation which includes 17 state returns. I spent 3 hours with a wonderful support person, who strived to help me with e-filing my federal and three state returns. After trying many things, we deleted the software and reinstalled the software, then removed all states. We were able to transmit the federal return. However, the return was rejected due to a typo in one of the SS#s. After I made the correction of the SS#, I reran the Review and to my surprise, there were 141 new errors. Our names and social security numbers fell out, the names of the partnerships, addresses and FEI#s disappeared, I had to key descriptions, date acquired and date sold for the capital gain activity (the amounts of the sale and and purchase price) were still there. After clearing the 141 errors, I tried to re-efile and kept getting "Not Responding" messages and could not get to the efile screen (tried 5 times). I was able to use the same software in the prior two years, without issues. This has been a very frustrating experience associated with payments of $880 for the federal and state software..

I have used TurboxTax for 2 decades. Usually AWESOME. This year I had a 1031 like kind exchange. The software did not have a "wizard" for this and the path to get all the forms correct was convoluted. I had to file an extension this year. I went through half a dozen "Tax Experts" (advice) before the last one finally was able to help. She was wonderful. Took us 3 hours of on-line work to finally get a return correct that deferred my gains to the new property.

You failed to update the software and address a bug you have in software ? Seriously bug still present October 14, 2025? Software has a glitch when you enter your K1 and then have intuit do a smart check, do you have a clue what I am talking about? FORM 3868 ? Completing the tax information was all right, but the ending process-- actually getting the return efiled, was a nightmare. From the time I finished entering the numeric information for the tax return until I was able to actually file the return was over an hour. Exiting the print preview to return to the form itself was an exercise in frustration. For the 2025 tax year I will likely buy different software instead of returning to TurboTax. PLEASE make the actual end of the process MUCH more user-friendly for those of us who may only deal with something like this once a year.

I used Turbo tax a few times and I feel They are accurate they make it easy by asking questions and giving examples to help you understand if certain things pertain to you. My biggest complaint would be that it has a flaw when you try to upload tax forms from your computer. I made sure all of the formats were correct. I also tried signing into My Broker to upload my information and it didn't work. So I had to manually input all of the numbers make sure the information is going to the right Box etc. When the main reason i choose Turbo Tax was to be able to upload my documents to make it easier. So Im really upset and I feel that was false advertising. Besides that everything was good. Don't get me wrong TurboTax is a good program, But I may look into other programs next year because of that simple Feature not working properly

I have been using desktop TurboTax for many years and will continue to do so in the future. However, in the last two years I have found bugs in the K1 section which I reported last year, but they have not been fixed. The problems are limited to the K1 and K3 forms. Other than these sections I have been very pleased with TurboTax. When entering K1 information, the program presents address and ownership info and asks if it is correct. If it is not and you correct it, the corrections are not saved so after saving the file and reopening, the old erroneous info appears. There also seems to be problems entering K3 data which led to the program finding errors. I spent a very long time with a TurboTax support person who found a way to correct the errors, by overwriting the erroneous entries - not an ideal solution.

This was my first time to use TurboTax. In the past I've used CPA's to prepare my taxes. I especially liked the feature that enabled me to import my 1099's. Since I wasn't that confident, especially for the foreign tax credit portion, it was extremely helpful to be able to pay a nominal fee to access a tax expert. Tax Expert Johan was very helpful. He patiently walked me through my forms and answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns.

I prefer Desktop since and have been on it since 2023 when I had some foreign tax and was advised by the helpdesk to switch form Online to Desktop to better address all situations. One thing that is frustrating (even still in 2024 version) are investments that have some foreign tax but from multiple countries. TurboTax does not have a good way to input the data since it only allows 1 country to be entered. It appears this is a common frustration in the community and I would rate it higher if they fixed this feature.
