It gets clogged very easily you have to take the guard apart clean it out repeatedly and start again. It does however do a nice job as long as you continue to do that. As far as products the stain remover doesn't work unless its a spill that just happened. the machine is heavy so if you have steps to go up and down be ready. its heavy. But i needed one I picked the one i thought best, and im sure for some, it is.

It does do a great job cleaning up most stains, but only with the shark. Carpet cleaner. No other brand or homemade cleaner that I tried works really at all. And I believe the instructions even said only use shark brand cleaner, though I just assume because they just want you to spend more money buying their expensive cleaner. After a month, when I use it even with a fresh cleaned out tank of water and cleaner, it still smells a bit funky. The downside is the spray hose is constantly in the way. I wish there was a better place to put it instead of being right where the buttons and lever are. Also, the dirty water tank only holds a third of its space worth of dirty water before you have to dump it.

I purchase the EX200 on March 19, 2025. I read the the reviews a lot good and few bad. I can say this it clean better than Bissell which gave out on me. People said it has a small water tank 3/4 gal and bissell has a 1 gal tank, they fail to tell that shark also has 1 qt oxi tank which will give it a gal.I like that it put down going forward and suck pulling back also I like you can which so that it will suck up only leaving carpet dryer. It is easy to clean up after you are down shampooing

Wow! This Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstriker is really easy to use. It has great suction to remove the dirt and water from the carpet. Even my older carpets and area rug carpets look fabulous and clean after one afternoon application. The Shark Deep Clean Pro formula removes dirt and stains and leaves a fresh scent that is not overwhelming and doesn’t linger too long. Very happy with this carpet cleaning machine and cleaning products.

My carpet cleaner with a name that starts with a H, that I owned and used probably a dozen times broke down . I wanted to do some early spring cleaning and no rental of a carpet physician for me. I checked out websites and reviews, found that Shark is very highly recommended. I own a Shark Rotator vac and Ninja counter appliance that I like very much, and do their work very well. I bought a 201 carpet cleaner that had an issue, and Shark got me a replacement within a short period of time. The replacement works excellent and I am very happy to recommend Shark to family and friends.

🍋🍋🍋🍋 The first machine started badly leaking clean water out the back after 3 uses. They sent a new one, which was great. Unfortunately after two uses it also started leaking water out the back and down into the motor, and now there is no power. I can't believe there aren't more bad reviews because wow, what a waste of money and disappointment.

I would give zero stars if I could. I have had four different replacements sent out. I started out with the model below this one. Most recent replacement was this model. And it had the same issue the second time I used it and It is yet again, spitting dirty water out of the motor exhaust vents. I would like to add I only use shark products in it, dump it when it is full(which is very often) I take very good care of my things and I use them correctly according to the manual. Despite this, though, I have had terrible luck with this carpet shampooer. Thankfully, they do have a great warranty but at this point, it's been a hassle. I have had many shark products and I love them all. This is the first one that I would not recommend and I would never purchase it again.

This is by far the worst carpet cleaner we have owned. It is a pain to operate because if you want it to stop spraying cleaning fluid you have to switch it to "quick dry" mode on the body of the cleaner. The capacity of the dirty water reservoir is so small and there is no heat. I also feel that on high pile carpet it does not extract enough of the water. After cleaning and using the quick dry mode I was still able to get a lot of liquid out of the carpet using the hand tools. I am extremely underwhelmed and wish I had stuck with our previous brand.

Pure garbage. Dumps the clean water and solution but vacuums up so very little. When we returned it to our big box retailer, the return clerk told us that they get several of these returned each and every week. She said that most returns have the same problem as our did. We have a professional carpet cleaning company scheduled for tomorrow to try and salvage the damage done thanks to this USELESS machine. Thanks Shark.
