I bought this cleaner about two weeks ago. I had an 8 x 10 rug cleaned some months ago and when the cleaner asked how I liked his wo4rk, I said the rug was still dirty. He told me if he cleaned it any more, it would show the back of the rug. My mother had a rug cleaner 50 years ago it it seemed like a struggle but I bought this one after I saw the ad and read some of the reviews. I started cleaning my rug. Below I will show the dirty water it picked up after 2 tanks of water and solution The rug was just dirty. This cleaner was easy to use and I love how Shark makes all it products so you can take apart the pieces and put them together. It was GREAT!!! Sorry I couldn't add the photo.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living with both kids and pets, we have a lot of dirty carpets, and I struggle to keep the carpets maintained. After considering getting a small spot carpet cleaner for years, I am very excited about this Shark CarpetXpert, which allows me to clean my entire house quickly. I can clean an entire room at one time with ease. Previously, we would have to rent a machine to do the whole house and block off an entire weekend to get it done. Now, I can do one room at a time as fits into our busy schedules. And the Shark CarpetXpert does not disappoint. It picks up so much dirt and leaves the carpets not only looking new, but smelling fresh. Out of the box, it's easy to assemble, and came with the cleaning solutions you need to use it right away. The attachments for both stairs and upholstery are amazing. If you have ever had a microfiber couch, you know how dirty they can look with children and pets. Now it's easy to clean up. If you have pets one of the best attachments is the pet tool. This will pick up wet messes without filtering it back into the machine. Instead, it holds the dirty water in the attachment so that you can flush it down the toilet /sink separately. It's also great if your house gets the stomach flu and someone doesn't make it to the bathroom in time. After using the machine, it is easy to clean and store. The hose has an attached hose cleaner to dry off the interior of the hose, and the other compartments all easily snap off. I rinse and clean the brush as well as the dirty water compartment and set them out to air dry before storing and it all takes me less than 15 minutes. I will never go back to renting the machines at the big box stores because this machine is more convenient and does the job with amazing results. I have used it both to spot treat one area, and for an entire room with ease. The carpets have never looked cleaner and small messes don't stress me out because I know that the Shark CarpetXpert will leave my carpets looking clean and smelling fresh.

I just bought this today, and it did an amazing job!! I forgot to take before pics of my carpet unfortunately! But it took out a stain that has been there for months! The only problem is that the dirty water container doesn't hold alot and have to empty it a lot!

On the carpet, it worked great and the cleaning solution smells really good, so I will definitely buy more or that! The box it came in even had a QR code to make ordering easier. The suction really is powerful , making for quicker dry times. However, the part that you can add solution to clean spots on your stairs and upholstery didn’t work at all for me. The solution went from the container on the suction piece directly onto the collection tank without even dampening the upholstery. I tried watching the video, but that wasn’t the least bit helpful to actually use the “stain master” & I ended up using the smaller suction piece and just spraying the solution on first and that part worked great! It did leave some lines, though, so using a bit of a zig zag pattern seems to do better for cleaning with. If you buy this product for your carpet, it works much better than for the upholstery. It’s also easy to put together and take apart afterwards to clean with. Just don’t leave the dirty stuff in the containers. Clean it out.

I just bought this cleaner and very disappointed that it goes through the bottle of soap very fast and only cleans half my room. The soap us very expensive and hard to find in the store. Very inconvenient when you need more soap and the store doesn't have it. Light weight and nice looking but would not purchase again.

Have had nothing but problems with this carpet cleaner. I have a small living area and it took 6 tanks just to clean it. Another thing is the waste water tank. The carpet cleaner shuts off when it is not even half way full resulting in me emptying it every couple minutes. It also takes about 5 seconds to shut off and during that time the dirty water will spray out of the vents until completely shut down resulting in clean carpet turning back into dirty carpet. The hose attachment also comes off very easily and will come off if barely touched.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unboxed the unit and read the instructions which was very easy to assemble. Used it in my family room and it e performed beyond expectations. I think this would be an ideal size for an apartment or small areas. Only wish the dirty water compartment held more. Otherwise Great product.

One of our fur babies is older and sometimes has accidents. In our old home we had two carpet cleaners, one was a bissell spot cleaner, and the other was a regular bissell carpet cleaner. It didn't matter if we cleaned the spot when it just happened or if we tried to clean an older spot the stains were still there, the carpet was soaking wet, and it just ended up smelling musty. We recently moved to a new home and we rent. We were up late and saw an infomercial for the Shark stainstryker carpet cleaner. I trust Shark products my mom has a vacuum and steam mop/cleaner, and I have the same steam mop she has. We both love her vacuum. I convinced my husband to at least try the Shark carpet cleaner. When I took it out of the box I was instantly in love! It's the size of your everyday upright vacuum. The clean water tank tells you how much water to use then it has a line above the water line for the carpet solution. I immediately had to try it. Even though we have brand new carpet I tested it out in our bedroom. I was SHOCKED, the dirty water was a very dark gray. Since we don't wear shoes inside, I knew it was just from the dogs and being out in the snow. The cleaning solution smells AMAZING! I couldn't believe how quickly the carpet dried. It took less than an hour. I really liked that the carpet cleaner turns itself off when the dirty tank is full. I live on fixed income so purchasing this carpet cleaner was a huge decision for my family. I don't regret it. I love every single thing about it, the size, ease of use, and again the smell of the cleaning solution is better than anything sold in the stores. If you doubt what this carpet cleaner can do, don't. It does everything Shark says it will do. This is a purchase you won't they

This carpet cleaner has been hands down the best one we've purchased over the last 25 years. My only complaint is not with the machine itself but the cleaning solution. It leaves a waxy feel to the carpet. We just used hot water and vinegar and it cleaned better with no residue. Machine itself is phenomenal! With cleaning and sucking up the water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstrike Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner really performs! It's an excellently built cleaner that has all the power you need and with the hose works conveniently for any carpet cleaning need you might have. Stainstrike works to get the stains out and this heavy duty cleaner has all the power strength that is needed to get the job done. Made my carpet look great again. The brush roll and spray are great at handlig the job! I probably used the hose accessories more often that it's really needed but I just enjoy using this machine so much. Fantastic results! An impressive cleaner with the results you want & will be extemely satisfied with.
