[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a Shark® CarpetXpert™ with Stainstriker™ Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner. It is the perfect carpet cleaner. It was easy to put together and use. I was able to clean 3 rooms very fast. The carpet was dried before I knew it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shark CarpetXpert with StainStriker operates like two separate machines. After assembling, I was anxious to clean a high traffic carpet area and started with the CarpetXpert part – full size carpet cleaning. I heated water, filled the reservoir and added the included cleaning solution. Operation is easy and before long I had used the Deep Cleaning Mode over the area and then switched to Quick Dry to get up as much extra water as possible. As you can see from the pictures, the returned water was VERY dirty. The area of interest was much cleaner but the next day I switched to using the StainStriker mode which uses an additional cleaning solution and a scrubber on a hand tool. In hindsight, I should have started this way from the beginning. After using the hand tool, I filled the water tank with plain water and went over it again with the full machine to remove any remaining dirty water and cleaning solution. The area improved significantly. I now plan to use it monthly on high traffic areas. One interesting thing included in the instructions is that when turning off the power it may take a few seconds for it to actually shut down since the water needs to clear the lines. Even after reading this, it took me many times to get used to the delay. Also, there appeared to be many “modes” but if you have the lever set to use as a carpet cleaner, it will only let you pick two options. Best to use Deep Cleaning mode first to spray the water/cleaner and use the brushroll to loosen the dirt. Then switch to Quick Dry to remove as much water as possible so the carpet will dry rapidly. The clear cover over the brushroll allows you to see water being sucked back into the dirty water tank. If you have the lever set to StainStriker, there is only one mode option. The lever is tucked behind the hose so to switch, you need to move the hose. Not a big deal since you will need to let the hose loose to use the StainStiker tool. It is necessary to clean the unit after every use since leaving dirty water would result in smells and mold. I prefer to clean the hose out first using plain water in the main tank. The included hose-cleaning tool is required for this and it clips onto the pole when not in use so it doesn’t get lost. Next, I cleaned the dirty water tank and the main water tank. Finally, taking apart the brushroll and cleaning associated parts was fairly simple. I did use a toothpick to remove lint stuck in the suction cover. I like that all of the tools and parts are able to be stored on the unit. Overall, I am thrilled with the performance of the Shark CarpetXpert. My daughter has already borrowed for her own carpet.

This carpet cleaner has been hands down the best one we've purchased over the last 25 years. My only complaint is not with the machine itself but the cleaning solution. It leaves a waxy feel to the carpet. We just used hot water and vinegar and it cleaned better with no residue. Machine itself is phenomenal! With cleaning and sucking up the water

It combines Shark's strongest suction with PowerWash high-pressure spray to deliver the best deep carpet cleaning and tough stain elimination possible. I have two young nephews who often stay at my home, and a cat. They are always getting into messes. I used to dread cleaning up after them, but the Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstriker has made it so much easier. The CarpetXpert with Stainstriker has been able to handle everything they've thrown at it, from spilled juice, tracked-in dirt, cat urine, to vomit stains, and it's worked great every time. It easily sucked up a ton of cat hair, I couldn't see, and my vacuum missed, even after several passes. The PowerWash spray is really powerful, and it gets deep down into the carpet fibers to remove dirt and grime. The built-in Stainstriker tool is also great for quick cleanup of tough stains. It mixes two unique chemicals that activate on contact to break down the stain and remove it from the carpet. I also like that the CarpetXpert with Stainstriker is a 2-in-1 machine. It can be used as a full-size carpet cleaner, or a spot & stain eliminator. This is great for those smaller messes that don't require a full-blown cleaning. The only possible drawback is the tanks are on the smaller side and need frequent emptying and refilling. It does help cut the weight though which is important because it's not light weight overall. Overall, I'm really happy with the Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstriker. It's a powerful and versatile machine that can handle any carpet cleaning task. If you're looking for a powerful and versatile carpet cleaner, I would definitely recommend the Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstriker. It's a great product that will help you keep your carpets looking and smelling their best.

But this thing gets the toughest stains out great! I used it on my area rug that I have had forever and it fluffed it back up and has it looking great and clean!

I received this as a Mother's Day gift ( I really truly wanted it ). It works way better than expected. I have 2 young kids, 2 large dogs and a cat with bladder leak issues. It it so easy to operate and even easier to clean after using! It is by far the Best carpet extractor I've ever used! I have a commercial carpet/furniture extractor and this is 100% better. It's lighter and easy to clean and store away and cleans the quality of cleaning is the same. Thank you Shark!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is by far one of the better carpet cleaners that I have used. Extremely easy to set up and begin using. The high pressure spray allows to get deep into the carpet to eliminate the toughest stains. The handheld attachment simplifies getting into harder to reach areas like steps. Also, the quick drying time is great! All in all, this is a great product that should not be passed up.

I was impressed with how much dirt it pulled out of our area rugs. It is light weight, maneuverable and easy to use. It comes with the StainStriker attachment - a smaller power brush that works well on seats and chairs. The suction power is excellent on the main unit and the StainStriker attachment. Our only suggestion for improvement is a tighter seal around the water collector to prevent dirty water from dripping back onto the carpet. Overall, I recommend this carpet cleaner for ease of use, powerful suction and ability to clean dirt out of carpets.

First use and I'm impressed! I have two small children and 6 cats with beige carpet, so I was looking for an effective, easy to use carpet cleaner. The CarpetXpert is perfect! It's so easy to go from Stainstriker to Deep Clean to Quick Dry without even turning it off! Stains came up quickly and the carpet was dry within a couple hours. The 5 year warranty is awesome too.

It shoots the dirty water out of the side vents. It does it from the start, not because the water is full. It destroyed my walls. Also, I have every shark vacuum there is, so this was a questionable purchase, but this is nothing like the vacuums. It doesn’t pick up stains either. Not happy
