[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this because we have 3 small dogs and they tend to make a mess at times and have had a couple of accidents on the rugs, and even on our furniture, since one is still a puppy and learning to control her bladder. On the carpet, it worked great and the cleaning solution smells really good, so I will definitely buy more or that! The box it came in even had a QR code to make ordering easier. The suction really is powerful , making for quicker dry times. However, the part that you can add solution to clean spots on your stairs and upholstery didn’t work at all for me. The solution went from the container on the suction piece directly onto the collection tank without even dampening the upholstery. I tried watching the video, but that wasn’t the least bit helpful to actually use the “stain master” & I ended up using the smaller suction piece and just spraying the solution on first and that part worked great! It did leave some lines, though, so using a bit of a zig zag pattern seems to do better for cleaning with. If you buy this product for your carpet, it works much better than for the upholstery. It’s also easy to put together and take apart afterwards to clean with. Just don’t leave the dirty stuff in the containers. Clean it out.

it cleaned good but didnt pick up the water very well and then when i went to empty it the bottom came off and dirty water all over the carpet. even the demonstrator said he would wait to buy it til its perfected better. I like the no brushes and hope I can get it together right as the inside came loose when i went to empty it. If I WOULD HAVE KEPT THE BOX i WOULD HAVE RETURNED IT I HAVE THE VACUMN AND LOVE IT AND THATS WHY I GOT THE SHAMPOOER

I was impressed by the infomercial for this so made the purchase. It arrived quickly. The set up was fairly easy. I'm not impressed with the hose anchor. I don't see that being to efficient over time. On first use I used the striker to clean an area of my carpet where my dog always vomits. I have used regular stain carpet cleaner on this area every time she would throw up but stains never came completely out. With the striker/hose I was able to get the stains out almost completely. You really have to look to seem them now. My next attempt was my daughters 12x12 bedroom carpet. This is carpet that was in the house when we bought it 6 years ago. Therefore this is a very old carpet. I'm almost sure it must be over 20 years old....lol.. just by the style/pattern. The carpetXpert did a nice job on cleaning this carpet. Not to brand new looking but the age of the carpet and any machine probably would never make it brand new. But my daughter could tell immediately when she came home that it had be cleaned. And what teenager would notice such a thing.....lol unless it was very visible. For the machine. It has three tanks, the two upper tanks are for cleaning solution. The smaller on the front is straight striker solution and the the larger is mixture of water and carpet solution. The dirty water tank is the lower tank. I think the tanks should be bigger especially the dirty water tank. I had to empty it twice while doing my daughters bedroom. I do like that I can go from floor cleaning to striker/hose cleaning stains with the flick of a switch, and not having to take the time to attach the hose each time. I love that it has the drying feature to help with getting the most water out of the carpet to allow it to dry in 3-4 hours. I like that the quick reference options are right on the machine as a reminder. I like that it is easy to clean and remove the parts to clean. One thing I would change is the hose holder at the top back as it doesn't seem to hold the hose well. There should be the same clips as you got on the sides. So far i"m very impressed with the Shark CarpetXpert and hope to get many years out of it.

I've never reviewed a product before, however, after using this cleaner, I had to share my experience. The XPERT cleaner was little difficult to assemble, nothing outside the manual. I emptied the solutions into the tanks, vacuumed my bedroom carpet, and after a few passes, my jaw dropped and I had to call my husband over yelling LOOK LOOK. The full front window of what the carpet extracts is completely visible (I've only seen windows offering views towards the machine, not behind while you operate it) Firstly, the machine almost self propelled itself, very easy to maneuver, what I wasn't expecting was when pulling the machine back was the suction to the carpet was like no other. You can not only SEE what was being taken from the carpet, you can Feel it as well. I finished the room, took out the dirty water tank, (good thing this is anonymous, I don't want everyone Knowing) and the tank water looked like TAR. I had spilled soda, dropped ashtrays ashes, old cereal grounded in, you can imagine, not only did the XPERT make them all disappear, but what I was left with, no lie, looked like a carpet that was just laid, the pile, stood up, felt slightly damp. In begining to look for a machine, I didn't realize they had all gotten to this price range, and was a bit apprehensive, now that I see the results, every $ I spent was well worth it. The only issue I have is that the solution you need for the machine is on order only. I'm ready to get started on every other inch in my house.

Have had nothing but problems with this carpet cleaner. I have a small living area and it took 6 tanks just to clean it. Another thing is the waste water tank. The carpet cleaner shuts off when it is not even half way full resulting in me emptying it every couple minutes. It also takes about 5 seconds to shut off and during that time the dirty water will spray out of the vents until completely shut down resulting in clean carpet turning back into dirty carpet. The hose attachment also comes off very easily and will come off if barely touched.

In conclusion, based on my firsthand experience and comparison between the Hoover and the Shark carpet cleaners, I firmly believe that the Shark is the superior choice for effective and efficient carpet cleaning. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really great product. It is lightweight yet study. It is well designed and good looking. We had a very dirty couch that needed lots of work. Dogs, kids, food, and wine have all messed it up. To be sure, some stains are so deep that it's virtually impossible but it cleaned the heck out of the couch. If you catch things early enough then pretty much anything will come out. I wish it original purchase came with more of the soap though. That is my only critique.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used the Shark(r) CarpetXpertTM with StainStrikerTM on our family room carpet and upholstery. It uses a high pressure sprayer to really help clean our carpets. It comes with a pet tool, crevise tool, a hose cleaning tool and a reverse brush. The cleaners that came with it worked very well. It has a hand held attachment for spot cleaning and upholstry.

This carpet cleaner is amazing. Do not think twice. Carpets are thoroughly cleaned, and the edge tool is wonderful! Paid for itself the first time I used it. Light weight and easy to use! Carpet was dry so fast but thoroughly cleaned! Every shark product that I have purchased has been absolutely worth it!

It is not just how it cleans, which seems really good but for me where it really shines in my opinion is the cleanup. Almost every part that matters can be easily taken apart and removed for cleaned out. The dirty water reservoir lid is simple to remove and has a big opening. All the included hand attachments come completely apart. The floor water intake opens up from the top which makes it better for air drying the roller and the water intake itself can even be removed. It is a dream to clean.
