[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shark CarpetXpert with StainStriker operates like two separate machines. After assembling, I was anxious to clean a high traffic carpet area and started with the CarpetXpert part – full size carpet cleaning. I heated water, filled the reservoir and added the included cleaning solution. Operation is easy and before long I had used the Deep Cleaning Mode over the area and then switched to Quick Dry to get up as much extra water as possible. As you can see from the pictures, the returned water was VERY dirty. The area of interest was much cleaner but the next day I switched to using the StainStriker mode which uses an additional cleaning solution and a scrubber on a hand tool. In hindsight, I should have started this way from the beginning. After using the hand tool, I filled the water tank with plain water and went over it again with the full machine to remove any remaining dirty water and cleaning solution. The area improved significantly. I now plan to use it monthly on high traffic areas. One interesting thing included in the instructions is that when turning off the power it may take a few seconds for it to actually shut down since the water needs to clear the lines. Even after reading this, it took me many times to get used to the delay. Also, there appeared to be many “modes” but if you have the lever set to use as a carpet cleaner, it will only let you pick two options. Best to use Deep Cleaning mode first to spray the water/cleaner and use the brushroll to loosen the dirt. Then switch to Quick Dry to remove as much water as possible so the carpet will dry rapidly. The clear cover over the brushroll allows you to see water being sucked back into the dirty water tank. If you have the lever set to StainStriker, there is only one mode option. The lever is tucked behind the hose so to switch, you need to move the hose. Not a big deal since you will need to let the hose loose to use the StainStiker tool. It is necessary to clean the unit after every use since leaving dirty water would result in smells and mold. I prefer to clean the hose out first using plain water in the main tank. The included hose-cleaning tool is required for this and it clips onto the pole when not in use so it doesn’t get lost. Next, I cleaned the dirty water tank and the main water tank. Finally, taking apart the brushroll and cleaning associated parts was fairly simple. I did use a toothpick to remove lint stuck in the suction cover. I like that all of the tools and parts are able to be stored on the unit. Overall, I am thrilled with the performance of the Shark CarpetXpert. My daughter has already borrowed for her own carpet.

it cleaned good but didnt pick up the water very well and then when i went to empty it the bottom came off and dirty water all over the carpet. even the demonstrator said he would wait to buy it til its perfected better. I like the no brushes and hope I can get it together right as the inside came loose when i went to empty it. If I WOULD HAVE KEPT THE BOX i WOULD HAVE RETURNED IT I HAVE THE VACUMN AND LOVE IT AND THATS WHY I GOT THE SHAMPOOER

It's state of the art design is easy to use, lightweight and by far the most powerful cleaner I've had to date. Powerful suction, deep cleaning capabilities and easy maneuverability leaves my carpet smelling and feeling fresh. I like to finish with a little clean linen carpet deodorizer for added freshness but this thing really does the trick!

I bought this 2 months ago and I'm thrilled with the results. I have an older dog who leaks and sometimes has diarea on the carpet and this machine cleans everything up instantly with no heavy wetting and no effort. Very easy to operate and you will quickly fall in love with the convenience of it.

It's an excellently built cleaner that has all the power you need and with the hose works conveniently for any carpet cleaning need you might have. Stainstrike works to get the stains out and this heavy duty cleaner has all the power strength that is needed to get the job done. Made my carpet look great again. The brush roll and spray are great at handlig the job! I probably used the hose accessories more often that it's really needed but I just enjoy using this machine so much. Fantastic results! An impressive cleaner with the results you want & will be extemely satisfied with.

I purchased the CarpetXpert a few months ago. I knew the true test of of it was going to be this area rug in our family room. I clean my carpets regularly- sometimes more often than not with 4 small dogs. This area rug is 20 years old and in excellent condition- just was dirty. Living near the beach is wonderful, but the sand is not. It is a constant battle. I own just about every carpet cleaner out there. Each one does something the other one cannot. This is the first carpet cleaner that actually does everything! From cleaning stairs and upholstery to carpets to area rugs it does it all. My other rug cleaners are heavy and clunky. This shark is rather light and easy to get up and down three flights of stairs. Yesterday, I began my spring cleaning. Of course I was super excited to try this machine out on these area rugs. The machine has some serious suctioning capabilities. To my amazement our area rugs look brand new! I was floored by the color of the dirty water that came out. It was midnight last night when I decided it was time to go to bed. I had just started on this area rug. I could tell it was significantly cleaner. This morning though when the sun shined in through the sliding glass door I was in shock!!! The pictures below will show you why. This machine is top of the line. It was carefully thought out. Each mode on this machine works much better than expected. I no longer have to pay to have these area rugs deep cleaned. Just one visit from our local carpet cleaning company is the equivalent of the cost of this carpet cleaner. It is money well spent!! What are you waiting for?? Go get yours today!!!

I have never used a carpet shampoo vacuum. I have to say I was very impressed with my Shark CarpetXpert. It Really did a great job in removing 4 year old stains, it also dries your carpets very quickly. Easy to use, instructions are simple and user friendly. I also love how easy it is to clean and take apart. I’m am very impressed and 1000% recommend.

First I was very excited to get my carpet cleaner. I have several shark and ninja products and love them all. It was very easy to put together. I did watch the video on how to use because  that was easier for me then reading the directions. So simple to add the water and solution. I cleaned two area rugs that didn’t seem to be that dirty but I was wrong. The water was so dark and the machine pulled a lot of pet hair up. On both the carpets I had a few stains that I purposely had left set in so I could see how well the machine would clean them. To my surprise all of them came out without me having to go over them several times. There was only one spot I had to get the stain striker hose out and use on. I had one chair that had greasy spots on it and came right out. Th machine itself was easy to use. Emptying the dirty water was very easy. When I was finished cleaning the brush roll was also very easy to do. Th only complaint I have is I wish the water and solution tank was a little bigger. I highly recommend this product.

It is not just how it cleans, which seems really good but for me where it really shines in my opinion is the cleanup. Almost every part that matters can be easily taken apart and removed for cleaned out. The dirty water reservoir lid is simple to remove and has a big opening. All the included hand attachments come completely apart. The floor water intake opens up from the top which makes it better for air drying the roller and the water intake itself can even be removed. It is a dream to clean.
