I bought this unit a couple of months ago and just got around to having an electrician wire the house. Shortly after the unit arrived in early March I started it up using propane (after reading the manual) and it ran beautifully. Today when I tried to start it for the electrician it would not start on propane...crazy. I put gas in it which I didn't want to do. It started and ran on gas and it ran my whole house. The disappointing thing is that I called the service hotline on a Saturday morning to ask someone for help. It was an answering service and they said that someone would call me during normal business hours next week. So, if there was an emergency and you needed to use your generator on the weekend there would be no assistance. The woman on the phone said they would give me the nearest service location to take it to. So beware because I would consider this a major missing link in their system. Maybe others are the same. I'll see what happens next week...when I'm at my full time residence...200 miles from the generator.

This generator comes with a remote control and that doesn’t make sense. You can’t start or stop the engine unless you physically attach or detach the electrical connection according to the operations manual. Also if running on propane you have to manually turn off the propane gas valve to stop flow. If you simply press start or stop on the remote without making the physical changes you run the risk of damaging the generator and in the case of propane you run the risk of creating a substantial gas leak. I ask Westinghouse what does the remote accomplish?

This unit comes boxed nicely and sets up very easily. Comes with an easy to understand guide as well as an owners manual that explains things more in depth. I’m still in the break in period but so far so good. My favorite feature is that you can switch between fuels and it stays running. If this review can be updated I’ll be sure to do so after it gets put to use during a power outage.

I bought this generator mainly for the duel fuel and electric start. I live in Florida so a dependable generator is a must to have. I started the generator up on propane for the first try. I followed the start up guide and the unit started up very very fast using the manual pull cord. I then switched to battery start with the remote fob and it started up very fast also. With a load on it it is surprizingly quieter compared to my other gas generator. I am disabled and the elecxtric start is a godsend for me and my wife. Thank you for ofering such a great product.

Just got it and set it up so longevity unknown but no reason to think it won’t last. Looks like it is well built and came with everything needed. It is not one of those quiet generators but I’m not worried about that. Was easy to get set up to run and seems fairly simple to operate

This is the second Westinghouse generator I have purchased. I've had the Westinghouse iGen2500 for several years that I have used for camping and outings were minimal power is needed but it also needs to be quiet. I just bought the WGen9500DF for portable home backup as I live in Florida and can lose power with hurricanes and tropical storms. Terrific generator with some really nice features. The battery charger, fold down handle and propane fuel capability along with the remote start made it easy for me to choose another Westinghouse Generator.

Took less than 15 minutes to unbox, attach wheels, and add oil. I wanted to see if it would start off the pull start without using the electric start. Easy pull and started within 3 or 4 pull. Electric start is a great feature along with the dual fuel option. Anxious to see how much of the house this unit will power.

The WGen9055 was purchased from a store and deliver to my door step. The generator was 99% ready to go from the shipping container. After putting in the gas and oil the unit start right up. However, I wish it had a low idle when there is not electrical pull, to conserve gas and noise. Maybe other models have that feature, so make sure you check that out. So far, I am happy with the purchase.

I bough this generator a couple of weeks ago. SO far I have not used it very much but when I have used it it has performed perfectly. Pulled it out of the box, put the wheels and the feet on, filled it with oil, hooked it up to a propane tank and hit the start button. It fired right up and ran smoothly. It is not nearly as loud as our old powermate generator which is about half the size. We have another Westinghouse generator which is an inverter model which we just love so when we needed to replace our generator to power the house during outages we went right to westinghouse generators.

We live in the PNW and the weather can be unpredictable. We just put half a beef in the freezer and we didn’t have a backup power supply. We purchased this unit to ensure the protection of our investment and to become more self sufficient, which we feel is important during these volatile times we are currently living in.
