I bought this a month and 1/2 ago because of the power it can provide us in running extra items it can run during power outages. We're in CA. and in a designated power shut down are due to high winds and general fire danger. The blackouts are projected to run up to five days. We feel more secure with the power backup.

Purchased online, delivered in just a couple of days. Very Happy! However, I need to order an Altitude Carburetor & Propane Kit for 6000 ft altitude or the Generator is useless without it. That’s fine, they are unavailable / sold out!! Am very hopeful that customer support can send me the kits ASAP otherwise I have purchased a nice generator that I can not use!! Fingers crossed! I have heard good things about these generators but obviously I can not try mine until I get the High Altitude kits. Therefore I rate as 3 stars but hopefully I can up this to 5 stars soon!

So I would LOVE to give this a good review but am unable to do so at this time. Apparently mine has some sort of defect, despite only being run for maintenance for the first 15 minutes monthly "recharge." I will give a positive review if the issue is resolved and the generator is replaced under the warranty and extended protection package I purchased.

Purchased this mainly with a desire to have electric start. The also supplies a remote Key Fob for start and stop operations. Sweet. I learned with electric / remote start, the choke / run are set automatically and have 3 attempts. Although mine start right off every time, gas or propane. Battery and oil for break-in are supplied. Also, the generator has a charging port and Westinghouse supplies the power plug too. And basic hand tools. Although no wrench 19mm(?) is supplied for the tightening or remove all for the LPG connection to the generator. Speaking of that, gas or propane dual fuel. Both work fantastic and switching between the two while running is flawless. As I said, it will start with gas or propane too. The propane connection is supplied. While running, the transition is quite flawless. Other features key to me carbon monoxide sensor and 40A / 50A plug ports. To maintain, all operations(oil, carb, manual pull starter, etc are easily accessible. Smart engineering. We connect ours directly to the Generlink interface for safer operation with power crews and less modifications to have an electrician do anything with the main AC panel. See photo. There are plenty of other generator photos but this is nice. Oh, there is an ST switch option to plug into the generator and into your house. When power loss is detected it will remote start the generator. However, with the GenerLink, that’s not possible. I have recommended this to my neighbors and friends.

After my family experienced the ice storm in Victoria, TX last year, I knew I had to do better. Having a wife and three young children, I felt helpless with no water well pump, internet, septic, plugs, switches, or any type of cooking appliances available. My brother and I installed a 30A transfer plug to my panel recently. After days of researching, I decided on this generator because of all the reviews stating to buy bigger than what is needed, for a buffer. I am glad I have that comfort zone. I received it today, assembled it in 10 mins, filled with oil and gas, and pushed the start button, it started right away. I let it run for about an hour and stopped it with key fob. So far so good, very satisfied so far. I will update.

Bought this a month ago our only problem was we couldn't find the remote control we contacted Westinghouse they told us to look on the pull start rope. Even though instructions says the remote is in the bag the person from Westinghouse told us too many people couldn't find the remote probably tossed them out on the trash so they now out it on the pull start rope. Your welcome we suggest Westinghouse add a note to say where the remote is stored. Other than that so far this unit has operated fantastic. We have started on both propane and gas starts right up. Didn't even have to program the remote it worked first try. We still haven't put a load on it yet.

Hello, I am mother of two and our power always goes out during the winter. This winter I was prepared with the dual powered generator. I also added the plug on the house. I was excited to use it but we didn't get a freeze this year. Ha, but I was ready.

After considerable on-line research I decided to purchase this model generator to serve as a supplemental power source for essential home electrical circuits in the event of an emergency such as the one we experienced here in Texas last winter. In my opinion it offered the best combination of available power generation capacity at a reasonable price in addition to various other desirable features such as; Dual Fuel sources (adding additional operational flexibility), Electric Start with a Remote Start feature, an "included" Battery Charger, a wide variety of service receptacles, American design, and a well written User Manual. It's also produced and backed by a well known company with a long established reputation for quality and reliability. Delivery was also well executed with the generator arriving on time and in perfect condition. I chose to have a licensed electrician install an exterior 50 amp connection box and a manual transfer switch in our home's main electrical panel so I could reliably power essential circuits on my interior sub-panel. Now I have the peace of mind knowing that my family will be safe and better provided for should we experience another extended power outage.

Purchased this a week ago for our mobile woodshop. Works great. Haven't had much luck with the remote start yet. It works, but I usually have to hit the manual choke for it to start so trying to start remotely doesn't do much for me, but having a remote shutoff is nice!
