Easy to Operate

I bought this generator at the end of November, 2023 and was very glad I did as we lost power for two days at the beginning of January during below freezing temperatures. I was easily and quickly able to get the generator ready for operation and quickly got it up and running on propane. I was able to get heat back on, run refrigerators and freezers, and get my computer and modem back up so I could work from home. It basically saved the day!

Great Features

Just received this unit and am very happy with it. I bought this generator because of the remote start and dual fuel capability. The propane feature will make it much easier for my wife to operate if I'm not here and the remote will allow us to shut the unit down much faster than running out to the garage should there be a problem of some kind.

Great generator for the Price

The generator was so simple to put together. W9500DF wow it comes with a portable plug to charge to battery if needed and located right on the panel. Bought this for future hurricanes to power the home items needed without hassle. Remote start super great.

Looks good

I have not had an opportunity to use this generator yet. It looks like it should do the job but I was surprised that a 12,500 W geinerator was limited on propane to 35 amp on gasoline it’s limited to 40 amps According to the literature that came with the generator. As for the next question – would you recommend this product to a friend – I just don’t know yet but I’m going to say yes. It was a great price and a three year warranty. I also have to submit this review in order to get a free generator cover.

Arrived safely and works great

The generator arrived strapped to its own pallet. There were no marks at all on the packaging. My husband read the owner's manual to ensure he operated it correctly. He ran it the first day for 2 hours with no issues. The manual does say there is a high altitude adjustment that is required for operating at altitudes above 2000ft. Operation without this adjustment will cause decreased performance, increased fuel consumption and increased emissions. There are 2 items to purchase: High Altitude Carburetor Kit and High Altitude DF Regulator and both must be purchased. I guess I will be searching for these two parts to purchase and then I will have to figure out how to install them. It would be helpful if the company just shipped out a unit designed for high altitude to alleviate this headache for the owner. The receptacles have been rearranged so that the large 50A is located in the center of the unit, thereby removing the issue of this large cord being located above the wheel. I look forward to having this unit to power my refrigerator, freezers and well pump during long power outages. I am rating this a 4 because of the additional parts I must purchase to efficiently operate it above 2000ft. elevation.

So happy with my purchase

Did a lot of research before I made my purchase and so happy we went with a Westinghouse generator. The one we got is dual fuel, starts with a push button and tells us the fuel levels. We will definitely be prepared the next time Austin has another snow storm and we lose electricity. Can’t wait to use it!

Great Features with Dual Fuel and Amps

I was so excited to get this with the amount of power it provides and with dual fuel options. Westinghouse has a great reputation and I look forward to seeing it prove itself when I am in a situation where I am required to use it (power loss, need extra power in a an area without electricity).

My new gennie

The hardest part of set-up was getting it off the truck! I put the wheels on, filled the motor oil, plugged in the battery, and it started. Now, if the power goes out, we'll have all our power needs met with the push of a button. Real nice piece of equipment!

Excellent generator with great features

We recently purchased this generator after being without power for 23 hours, and the number of features, the watts, other excellent reviews and Westinghouse name made this generator an easy decision. We will get use out of it for years to come and won't have to worry about anymore storms knocking out our power.

Dual Fuel

When my Westinghouse WGen 9500DF arrived, the box was a little beat up, but I did not see any damage to the generator. The initial assembly is pretty easy and just consists of attaching the wheels and feetwith the supplied wrench. Then adding some oil (which actually comes with the generator). I connected the battery and a propane tank and was ready to go. The electric start is very nice, but I'm glad it includes the pull cord backup. The generator cranked three times as it primed then fired up. The choke is automatic, but again a manual backup exists. I plugged in three space heaters it to give it a little load and it didn't seem bothered in the least. I love the propane option. Gas goes bad so quickly even with a stabilizer it has to constantly replaced. Propane is always usable. If the power is out at the gas station too, you can still swap a propane tank there.
