Well thought out product

I like the electric start, wheels, auto choke, wattage. I dont like that battery connector is near oil fill and hard not to get oil on it when filling. Key fob seems silly because you have to go to the generator before starting to tun on, turn fuel on, remove cover, move generator

Westinghouse Generator

I purchased this generator a month ago and now have peace of mind in the event of a power outage. As a middle aged woman I needed something I could manage on my own. It is easy to start, I am able to maneuver it easily and the installation/equipment instructions were simple and clear.

Started on first try with non ethanol fuel. Remote is really nice. It makes things easy. Easy assembly. Important! If you do not have a low trailer have it delivered it's very heavy (built like a tank) and you will not be able to get it out of your truck by yourself! 250 pounds ish.

Why?

What genius designed a generator that you cannot start with the pull rope unless the battery is charged? They put an electric fuel solenoid that requires the battery to be charged for the carburetor to get fuel. Is it just in case we feel we need exercise? The whole purpose of the pull rope on a generator with electric start is to be able to start the generator if the battery is dead, no? Again, why?

Perfect size to run our home in an emergency

We purchased this as we had an approaching ice storm and thought we may lose power. It was easy to put together and appears to be very well made. Thank the Lord we didn't have to use it this time, but we are grateful we have it and the best part, it's a push start!

Runs Like A Beast

This generator powers my entire house! Fridge, deep freezer, stove, AC, microwave, house lights etc. It is exactly what I need and it is still going strong after 2.5 years! Ive probably run it 60hours, and perform the recomended maintance as per the manual. The only thing that I dont like is the CO2 dectector. My generator is kept covered by a open roof outside. Sometime when the wind blows correctly, the exhaust gets blown to the CO2 sensor and the generator shuts off. When it's storming this is a problem. I would recomend buying the WGen9500DF (not the DFc) to avoid this issue. Unless this is a safety feature you need.

Good product, meets my expectations

I bought this about a week ago, I set it up and started running it it runs really well. I like the fact that it runs on propane as I live on the water and gasoline is not the best fuel to use here. So far the generator runs really well and has more power than I need but that's good, really like the remote start that will come in handy in inclement weather.

We bought this last month after a huge wind storm leaving us without power for 3 days. A neighbor helped us with the decision because he has the same model and it worked like a charm for his family. The Quick Start Guide relieved my worry as it's a piece of cake to set up and run. Dang, it's a heavy bugger and getting the wheels and feet on takes 2 people, but it's done!

Excellent!

I bought this unit after getting by on a smaller generator during Helene. Wired up a transfer switch and added a natural gas connection. After this ice storm we went through in January 2026, this unit performed flawless for the 17 hour power outage we went through. I highly recommend this unit.

Great features.

I needed a new generator for electrical outages...old one was unreliable and hard to start. Did a lot of comparison shopping and decided to buy a Westinghouse WGen9500DFc. I am so happy I did!! It has every feature I want and does everything I need. It's easy to start, easy to move around and has enough power/outlets for electric outages...plus the dual fuel feature is a bonus. As far as I'm concerned, this generator is the perfect generator for me.
