We took our friend's advice ( a licensed master electrician ) for this generator and are very pleased. We didn't need this big of a unit to run everything in our small house. But we're glad we did. We broke it in without a load and then our friend wired the house and we put it under a load. VERT COMFORTING and reassuring. It is amazing the feeling. We've never had a back up generator and have just dealt with the power outages in Maine. Very happy with all the features and the solid feeling of this unit.

I just bought this generator after trying to decide between this one and the DuroMax XP12000EH. I eventually made the choice on the Westinghouse because I know two people that own them. They haven't had any issues with theirs yet. I haven't hooked mine to the house but did start it up and tried some power tools on it. It started right up and it works. It is not as loud as I thought it would be. My older and a lot smaller generator is actually louder than this one. So far I'm happy with the purchase.

This generator comes with a remote control and that doesn’t make sense. You can’t start or stop the engine unless you physically attach or detach the electrical connection according to the operations manual. Also if running on propane you have to manually turn off the propane gas valve to stop flow. If you simply press start or stop on the remote without making the physical changes you run the risk of damaging the generator and in the case of propane you run the risk of creating a substantial gas leak. I ask Westinghouse what does the remote accomplish?

Bought this Thanksgiving weekend. Initial delivery company had an accident with their truck, so it had to be transferred to another company for delivery which slowed the delivery process by about three weeks. We actually received the generator the first week of January. The weather had turned extremely cold, so we were happy to get the unit as there was snow predicted. The second delivery company, once the unit was scheduled, was great. Assembly instructions were simple and straightforward, and the unit started up immediately. As the temperature dropped to the teens, the unit was slower to start, but did start. I can appreciate the remote start, but haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet. We did run it for the recommended break in time with a very light load. The trickle charger included for the battery is a fantastic idea! Luckily, we did not lose power when the snow came, but I feel sure this unit would be just what we need with plenty of power. We have kept generators for years as we live in a rural mountainous area and power outages can last for days in deep snows. We will keep this one maintained as recommended and hopefully get many years use of it as we have with others in the past.

Purchased in may of this year and was hoping I wouldn't need it but I'm glad I purchased it as it flawlessly operated during recent hurricane and provided power for my entire house and well it just wasn't big enough for my ac but we will purchase a small ac just for 1 room soon.

I originally purchased this generator several months ago after pouring and researching through many reviews, suggestions, and comparisons. I was looking for a dependable generator to handle the Texas extreme weather changes and Westinghouse seemed to be the most recommended from other users. I let this generator sit in my garage, as life happens and I got busy with other projects. Three months later, I pulled it out to give it a dry run for the inclement weather we are about to receive here. I filled the oil (which was provided) and gas. It should be noted this particular model arrived with a FOB key, which I paired up and pressed the "start" button. To my excitement, it fired up on the first start. I let it run for several minutes while I grabbed my generator cord and hooked it up to a power inlet I have outside my house. I connected the generator to my 3,000+ sq foot house and walked inside to put it under a load. It performed flawlessly. A great product and very happy thus far with this purchase. Highly recommended and you can't go wrong with a Westinghouse generator.

Very happy so far with this Westinghouse Generator. Love the remote start and it runs just about every this in the house. I have a stub up with one plug to the panel box and i will be able to just open my door hit the remote , stay dry in the storm and have 220 accessibility as well. Great product highly reccomend this.

bought for my off grid home. about as loud as you would expect from a gen of this size, but I will build a muffler to dampen the noise more. was nice to have the remote starter work right out of the box. make sure to attached battery cable prior to attempting to start, it comes detached. overall a great value and glad it comes with wheels to move around.

This generator has all the bells and whistles you would need. With the dual fuel fixture I will be able to run my house 24 hours a day, I will run gasoline during the day and switch to propane for the night. I had a transfer switch and lockout installed by a electrician.

I bought this generator on 7/26/24 and received it on 8/15/24, 10 days later than the original date of arrival, 8/5. The delay interrupted my schedule so I have only been able to unbox, install the wheels and read the manual. I have not run or tested the generator. My rating is based only on what I see with regard to design. Pull handle should lock in place while in use. I will upgrade the rating, after the break-in run and meter testing, if warranted. If the generator operates as it should, the price would lead me to recommend it to friends.
