I did many search and compare various brands of generator such as : Westinghouse, Firman, Champion, Cummins. Finally, I picked WESTINGHOUSE. This brand offer good price with high performance. Outlets are made sturdy, furthermore it is built with many features. The noise of level is acceptable (~75db) at 20feet away.

I purchased this to run my Miller 50A Arc Welder in the field and also to double as a whole house backup generator. Its not too heavy, I can carry it in the bed of my 2017 Ford F150 using ramps to get it in and out. Not too heavy to need a second person. Very happy with the purchase.

I bought the WGen9500DF earlier this week and it got delivered right on time. I unboxed it and set it up this weekend. This is my first generator, however, I have assembled numerous pieces of equipment. This was pretty straight forward. I did have to add additional 10W30 oil than what was supplied to get the oil to register correctly on the dipstick. I connected in the battery charger while I read the instructions thoroughly. Once I was ready, I connected a 20 lb. propane tank and the system fired up on the first start button push! I ran it for 30 mins with no load. Voltage looked good and held steady at 240V. The Hertz ran a little high (>62) at times though I expect this to change once it is under load. Happy so far and now prepared for the first winter storm, if needed.

My wife has COPD and is on O2 24/7. Any power outage is problematic for us. I am 87 years old and can no longer use our current generator which has a pull start. This unit was suggested by a friend and we are very pleased with it's construction and how compact it is. Very surprised at the sound level which is much less than I expected. Also like the fact that it is dual fuel.

My family is amazed with the power that the WGen9500 generates. We had an electrical company come out and install an emergency backup electrical outlet panel. By connecting the WGen9500 to the backup panel in times of need we will be cool in the summer, warm in the winter plus have 6 other circuits covered, which basically encompasses our entire house. I bought this a month ago and it took me a little while to get around to starting it for the first time. Had a little trouble, but worked it out (make sure the 'auto' choke engages, it might need a little help). Lots of power and less noise than my previous generator.

Great generator!! WGen9500.. Looks nice and well built. Came with wheels,battery and oil. I have used it a couple time for stuff around the house just to run it for awhile. Works great. Waiting to use it for when my power goes out. Did a lot of research on generators and Westinghouse has a great price for the size generator I got. Look to be very well built. You can’t beat the 3 year warranty.

When I received my generator it would run on propane but not gas. If would squirt gas in the cylinder it would run ti out of fuel. I had a fuel delivery problem. After some troubleshooting I decided the electric fuel solenoid was bad. I called Customer Service and spoke with Dana, explaining my problem and diagnosis. Dana said because the solenoid was not a separate unit, he would send my a replacement carburetor/solenoid as a warranty replacement. 4 days later it came in. I installed it and the generator cranked up and ran great. My theory is that when Westinghouse test ran the generator, they used propane. It's cleaner, easier and no fuel residue during shipping. So it worked great there.

After unpacking it I place the generator on its engine side and installed the wheels and legs. Looking forward to cranking it up tomorrow. Interesting that there are so many comments to this machine. Why? Because they were giving away a FREE cover! Great gimmick! But now they have run out of covers to give away. I will try to put in another comments once I start the machine and flip the switch on the breaker board.

Generator arrived on time. Came with propane hose which was a surprise. Had electric plug hooked up to a 50 amp subpanel I had for a spa line I am not using. Shut off main breaker and locked in off position. Shut off the rest of house breakers. Started Generator on propane and it fired right up. Plugged in #6 wire extension cord from my sub panel to 50 amp generator plug in, turned on 50 amp spa breaker in main panel and everything worked. Was able to run refrigerator, microwave, and dryer at the same time after allowing each to start up. Generator worked great. Lots of features. Remote and push button start a real plus. Plenty of plugs and the dual fuel is reason I went with this model.
