AFTER RESEARCHING AND A VERY LONG TIME OF WEIGHING THE PROS AND CONS OF ALL THE GENERATORS OUT THERE, I KEPT COMING BACK TO THE WGEN9500DF. I JUST RECEIVED IT TWO DAYS AGO, VERY EASY AND QUICK TO SET UP. IT STARTED UP QUICKLY WITH THE REMOTE FOB AND SWITCHED EASILY FROM LP TO GAS NOT MISSING A BEAT... THIS GENERATOR IS MUCH QUIETER THAN ALL OF THE OTHERS I'VE HAD. I ONLY GAVE IT A FOUR STAR BECAUSE I HAVE YET TO PUT IT UNDER LOAD. I'LL COME BACK TO GIVE IT ANOTHER RATING AFTER I RUN IT UNDER LOAD. AT THIS POINT I DON'T FORESEE IT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS....

Everything was in the shipping carton. No damages to carton and items were protected inside. All the parts were there and everything fit. Tools, oil and neat funnel (No drips). I read the manuals first and found some great information about the generator. I want to use LP due to issue with storing gas (leave it at that). So, looking forward to getting a fresh LP tank, install an interlock to breaker box and test this puppy out!!

We purchased this generator so that we would be more prepared in case of hurricanes etc. We researched a lot of different items and found this one to be the best. It arrived quickly, was well packaged, is easy to maneuver, and has great quality parts.

We purchased this generator almost a month ago and couldn't be happier with our decision. Living in Eastern NC, we experience hurricanes yearly, and we get the occasional winter snowstorm. We live out in the country and anytime any such storm is forecasted, its practically a guarantee we will lose power. In the past, these power losses have been anywhere from a few hours to several days. I have a 26-year-old special needs daughter who spends the majority of her life on the internet. Of course, no power...no internet, It doesn't take long before everyone is in a fowl mood. Also, if the outage extends more than a few days we lose 2 chect-type freezers full of food and everything in the refrigerator. Added to all of this, I, myself was put on oxygen by my doctors in July. Its something I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. As you can read, taking all of these circumstances into account made selecting a generator a very important decision. We did our homework and researched several different models and brands. After much deliberation, we decided on the Westinghouse WGen 9500. It met all of our needs and then some, It's big enough for the square footage of our house, and having the option of using the remote is truly a blessing, I don't want to have to go out in a storm at my age to pull start it, at 70 years old, it's not safe. We haven't had it a month yet but have already put it to the test. We took almost a direct hit from tropical storm Ophelia last weekend. We lost power before the storm even made landfall. Within minutes we were back up and running. Nobody got fussy without the internet, we had no loss of food and I was able to continue on my oxygen. This generator is definitely a lifesaver. We do have plans to have it hard wired to the house when finances permit but even using it with cords, we couldn't be happier. I would like to receive the cover to protect it. Thank you for making a fantastic product.

Arrived on time with No Damage. Minimal assembly needed the documentation was excellent. Filled generator with Oil and Gasoline (89 octane / Non Ethanol) and it started without issue. The generator was run for 5 hours as directed while varying the Load for break-in period. Utilized both Gasoline and Propane with No discernible difference. Fuel stabilizer was added to gasoline as recommended. Extremely pleased with purchase, hope we never need to use it!

I live in a area which is prone to power outage. I was using a 7000 watt generator but it could not handle the whole house. I just purchased the Westinghouse WGen9500DF on the advise of a neighbor who has one. I am so happy that I did. I can now run my whole house. I travel often and feel confident that my wife can can handle it. Sometime gas is hard to find so I can use gas or propane and has remote start/stop.

First off, the shipping was terrible. They left it by the road 1/4 mile from my home in the mountain and I had no way of knowing that they had delivered it. It came 2 weeks early and if it weren't for a neighbor telling me about this box out on the road, it would have been stolen! Secondly, the generator is very cheaply made and I don't expect it will hold up under anything more than mild usage on rare occasion. Thirdly, the generator is difficult to start manually on propane. It has to be choked, even though, with electric start, choking is not necessary. Fourthly, the start sequence is processor controlled, which means, if the processor is ever compromised, it would render the generator useless unless a bypass was engineered. Fifthly, the starter made a strange free spinning sound on my first remote start-up. I checked the remote start from over 100 feet away and it started fine. Under a load test the generator preformed well. It is way too early to tell if the generator will stand the test of time.

I just purchased this generator so haven't yet had a chance to test it out properly, but overall it looks to be good quality and heavy duty. I like the features that are advertised and will be testing it out soon so I will add any updates after that is done.

We bought this (new) to prepare for another winter in South Texas, which may see some days without power. We tested it out and it works great so far! A couple of items that we noticed: -- The bottom frame was all scratched up, like it might have been used or beat up during manufacture (see pictures) -- The quart of oil provided didn't fill up the oil sump...only made it to the "L" reading on the dipstick -- First start was a little rough, but it ran great after a few false starts -- It is really heavy! Be careful trying to move this around. The wheels are plastic, but seem to support the weight sufficiently -- There are a lot of switches, dials, and widgets to attend to. Be sure to read directions carefully!

Bought this 3 days ago. Assembly could not be easier if Westinghouse tried their best to make it easier. Fired it up on gasoline & propane. It started right up. The remote start feature is really cool. I was afraid it would be super loud but I was pleasantly surprised.
