I live in Florida and it's hurricane season, so I decided to have the house set up for power outages. I like the dual fuel feature since we have propane on site, and as soon as I got it home, I hooked it up to 20g bottle and it fired right up with the remote start. It is loud, so I imagine I'll need to do something to address that issue. I'm also planning on tying it into our 250 gallon home propane tank in the near future. I'm not a fan of storing gasoline or fighting for it when a storm is headed our way.

I did a lot of research on what brand generator I will buy. After weeks of researching, I end up buying the westinghouse 9500. I used the 50amp to power my whole house of 2600sq. The best part of this generator is the key fob. I will post a review again in 6months.

Bought this generator at beginning of January. I also had an electrician put in a Relay switch. So very glad I got both. We are experiencing historically cold temperatures along with ice and snow in Texas resulting in power shutdowns for 24-36 hours. Thankfully my Westinghouse Generator worked beautifully and kept my wife and I warm when the power companies shut us off. So glad I bought the WGen9500DF!

Bought this a month ago our only problem was we couldn't find the remote control we contacted Westinghouse they told us to look on the pull start rope. Even though instructions says the remote is in the bag the person from Westinghouse told us too many people couldn't find the remote probably tossed them out on the trash so they now out it on the pull start rope. Your welcome we suggest Westinghouse add a note to say where the remote is stored. Other than that so far this unit has operated fantastic. We have started on both propane and gas starts right up. Didn't even have to program the remote it worked first try. We still haven't put a load on it yet.

After being disappointed with another brand of comparable size, I decided after reading 2 independant reviews of the top 5 and top 10 portable 12K generators to purchase the Westinghouse WGen9500 (which is 12K start up). The attention to detail was the first thing I noticed as I unboxed it. After attaching the wheels and base legs and putting the oil (which was supplied) in the crankcase, and 1 gallon of gas in tank, I pushed the electric start button. It took between 2-3 seconds to start and ran smoothly. The first thing I noticed was the quietness for this size generator. I have 2 smaller generators and it is quieter than either. The remote start feature is really nice. I went in the house which is 40 yds from my shop, hit the button and it started immediatley. Hooked a load to it and it performed flawlessly. I bought it for power back for my home but have not hooked it to transfer power and test it yet, since I have only had it a few days. It is also very easy to move and manuever with the big wheels and handle. I am very impressed and would recommend it to anyone who needs this size generator.

I just purchased this Generator, I am so delighted to have such a heavy duty devise to keep our home safe from power loss, this generator is much quieter than my previous one, over 1/2 less noise. I love the ease of starting using our fob switch and the auto use of a starting our generator. I couldn't be happier. OH, the price of this generator and the quality of this machine is fantastic.

I purchased this generator after reviewing many others. The features that sold me is it had a 50A connection and a 3-year warranty. It is well constructed and the remote start is a nice feature. I have only had it running without a load just to check it out. This generator should be more than enough to run the majority of my home in a commercial power outage.

After much internet research of various portable generators, I decided to purchase the Westinghouse WGen9500TFc. My decision was based on the fact that Westinghouse is an American company and has a long-standing reputation for quality products and this particular generator met my needs for a backup power supply when the electrical power goes out.

Received product three October 2021. Everything looked good except for dents on the outer protective metal framing (Roll cage). Assuming the damages were acquired during storage or transportation. I also observed the fuel gauge doesn’t seem to register how much fuel added to the tank. I observed no damage, gouges or scratches on vital parts of the generator or any parts missing. In my first test run of the generator, everything seems to be operating correctly however I did not connect anything to the generator to power as of yet. I will test that tomorrow. Attached are the dents to the outer protective metal framing roll cage.

I bought this in November, 2024, and I didn’t have to use it until this July. I bought it to replace a 20 year old smaller one that no longer met my needs. I have to say that this is a great product! It powered everything in my house except the AC which I didn’t try. It’s also a little quieter than my older one. This is definitely a good buy!
