Reliable Powerhouse – A Must-Have for Emergencies

I recently purchased this genarator and couldn't be more impressed. From the moment I unboxed it, the quality and build were evident. The dual fuel capability (gasoline and propane) is a game-changer, offering flexibility and peace of mind during extended power outages or off-grid use. Setup was straightforward—everything from the instructions to the quick start guide was easy to follow. The electric start worked flawlessly, and the remote start feature is incredibly convenient, especially during stormy weather when you don't want to go outside. Performance-wise, this generator is a beast. With 9500 running watts and 12500 peak watts, it powers essential appliances with ease, including our refrigerator, lights, sump pump, and even the central AC unit. It runs smoothly and surprisingly quiet for its size, which is a big plus. Fuel efficiency is impressive. On propane, it ran for hours without needing a refill, and the built-in fuel gauge makes it easy to monitor usage. The control panel is well laid out and user-friendly, with plenty of outlets to cover all our needs. In short, the WGen9500DFc offers reliability, convenience, and power when you need it most. Whether you're preparing for hurricane season, working on remote job sites, or just want backup power for peace of mind, this generator delivers. Highly recommended!

Great features

I bought this at the beginning of the year and I am finally getting the chance to unboxed it. The generator has really great features and it started instantly with the electric start. I have not had the chance to use it yet but I am sure it will perform.

EFICIENTE

bought this WGEN9500DF Generator to replace a B&S generator, which "died" with only 100 hours of use. In my country, Venezuela, light and prolonged crots are frequent, which requires a Generator. The WGEN9500 complies with everything I required it to power my house, including a hydropneumatic pump.

WOW! So impressed!

Unpacked and performed the minimal and easy assembly. Put oil and gas in it. Started our new Westinghouse WGen9500DF on gasoline and then ran it on propane. Ran like a champ! Outlets easily ran what we plugged in. This generator is a workhorse and much quieter to run than we expected. Bonus: Bought on 6/18/21 and received it a full week before the expected delivery date.

Westinghouse 9500/12,500-Watt Dual Fuel Portable G

I have only had it in possession for a week or so and having to call today on why it will not run my lights in my shop when a 3500 watt inverter does without any problem. I am hoping Westinghouse will take care of this problem when I call today. It runs everything else in my shop except my lights which are LED and pull least wattage of anything. Hoping this is a simple fix

So far so good

I hooked up the generator to my natural gas line. I've only done the break in and it works as expected. I like the push button start. It would be nice to be able to drain the oil without tilting the generator since it's so heavy. The wheel installation is definitely a 2 person job.

Sturdily Built Generator

This generator was given to me as a Christmas present. It is heavy and feels well built. Unboxed it on the back of my truck and was able to roll it down my ramps. After adding oil and gas it started right away. Was only able to test 120 volt sockets and they worked fine.

Correction to previous review

In a previous review, I complained that after ordering a high altitude kit for the LP side, the wrong parts were shipped to me. That was incorrect. Expecting to receive one replacement orifice, when I saw four identical, looking brass fittings, in a plastic bag, not labeled with a part number, and receiving no instructions in the package, I assumed an error had been made. When I brought it up with support, they verified the correct part had been shipped to me, and finally provided a link to a YouTube video that showed how to install high altitude kits. The video revealed that they offer for different orifices for four different high altitude ranges. It is incumbent upon the owner to select the correct orifice for their altitude. Lo and behold upon further close inspection of these brass fittings, faintly embossed on the sides were the letters, A, B, C or D, and numbers such as 4.9, 4.7, etc. . I assume those numbers are probably the millimeters of the bore of the various orifices I believe it would’ve been infinitely helpful to show the part number on the package and even more importantly include instructions to install the kit or at least point to the YouTube address to get the instructional video. That would’ve saved both of us a lot of time and trouble. Other than that, it is a great looking product with a lot of features and benefits for the price. Still waiting for the high altitude kit for the carburetor which is out of stock If not for these annoyances, I would’ve gone five stars .

What can I say...it works as expected

After doing some research for an upgraded generator I purchased the WGen9500DF. I had a older 8K generator and we were looking for upgraded power after the last storm to ensure we can still use the stove and elec. water heater (as well as TVs, lights, etc) the next time. We upgraded the generator hook to 50AMP and wanted a generator to match. This is able to power our well pump, water heater, forced air oil furnace, elec stove top, and any light/TV in the house w/o breaking a sweat. It was delivered on time and was able to set it up in about 30 minutes. Started easily and ran w/o issue. FYI...Dont forget the small 'on switch' for the gas flow under the left side of the gas tank!

Transfer Switch Ready?

I purchased the WGen9500DF to power my small house and shop during Davey Tree Power outages (PGE NorCal). Upon receiving the generator and setting it up, I ran it on propane for an hour. This thing is a beast! The remote works perfectly. Starting and stopping the generator from inside the house. (within line of site) I found that it was necessary to change the oil after that first hour test/break in, because there appeared to be enough metallic debris in the oil to warrant it. I found it easy to drain and refill the oil in the generator without making a mess. A little over a quart of oil is cheap insurance that our new Westinghouse generator will last a Long time. The only disappointment was that the air filter was not installed correctly at the factory. The outer portion of the two stage filter was Not fitted in the filter box correctly so the filter box cover cut into it. I called customer service for a replacement. Also "transfer switch ready" appears to mean that I have to use the Westinghouse ST switch, with extension cords to have the generator automatically start for back up power. I called tech support and have yet to hear back.
