Rock Solid

I bought the WGen 9500 a few weeks ago because I live out in the country and when the power goes you know you're in for a long ride before it comes back on. Quite easy to set up and a very solid piece of equipment. It's also easy to operate and comes with an easy to read and understand user's manual. It's something that I hope I don't have to use often but when the time comes when I do have to use it, I have peace of mind knowing that the WGen 9500 is ready to tackle whatever power I do need. Highly recommend if you're in the market for a portable generator

This generator checks all the boxes.

This generator checks all the boxes. I was looking for a generator big enough to run my air conditioning, fans and lights. I have yet to have a need to use this as a power back-up but I have used it as a power source for exterior work. The generator is very easy to set up and, while heavy, is relatively easy to maneuver around. Noise levels are decent, particularly given the output of the model. Very happy with the purchase. :)

Fantastic, but...

You cannot use it as a standby generator. The RUN switch cannot be left in the run position with the motor off. If you do, the battery will run down. In the run position I'm told that a trickle charger should not be used. The big reason why I bought this was to avoid having to trudge outside in the middle of as snow storm to get it started. Granted, it then is just the flick of a switch and a push of a button, but I'm telling you, the snow and ice storms around here will require full winter garb before getting to the generator. On top of that, I'm recently disabled, leaving my wife to this task. Both she & I thought it was going to be started from inside. Major disappointment. Theoretically, I could hard wire a leg of the run switch to inside the house. Then I could control it all from inside. But, I'm sure Westinghouse will consider this a violation of sorts, and void the warranty. I'm having an electrician out to the house to get his opinion. What it comes down to is this: Why have a remote start key fob if you need to go to the generator first in order to use it? Now the good stuff. Once it's running and hooked into our transfer switch, it powers along without a hiccup. Well pump comes on, and the motor doesn't even hint at strain. The unit, for its weight, is relatively easy to roll around. Controls, outside of above mentioned obstacles, are well laid out and easy to understand. Dual Fuel. Ahhhh, very nice. In the future I will be running on a dedicated propane tank, but for now I'm on gasoline. The same electrician will be installing a service interrupt automatic transfer switch to replace my manual transfer switch. This is going to be great, once I figure a way around the fact that this generator can't be left in the power-up ready position. It is not a stand-by generator if you have to stand by it to make it run. What good is a remote start remote start if you have to walk to the generator first?. I'd like to see any one argue against that if you were in my shape. I can barely walk at this point.

Great whole house generator!

Just came today and setup was easy. I hooked it up to propane and its fired right up. I'm going to run a line from my 500 gallon tank to this generator so I will have weeks worth of fuel. I live in northern NY where it gets cold and windy. This will run my whole house! very happy with my purchase!

Easy to maneuver for a 200 lb generator

Assembly was a breeze and instructions are very clear. The WGen9500DFcc is well built and sturdy. I only have had a chance to do some break in time but it looks to be a very fine machine. The only negatives would be that the oil level does not indicate correctly, after putting the full 1.16 quart of oil supplied it read on the low line of the dipstick .The other problem is that the part numbers in the owners manual for high altitude propane kit don't seem to exist ?

So far so good

Bought this product for a home back generator. Extremely easy to put together and started up immediately on propane. Have done the break in which was easy and its now being stored in my garage. Bought the 9500 tri-fuel series in hopes of having continuous fuel for power outages. All electrical work completed to back feed the entire house safely.

Easy to use with great features

I bought the Generator about a month ago and I am happy I did since I live in an area prone for Hurricane. It has a lot of great features so that I can use either propane or gas and which it will be easy for my wife to use should I not be available to setup and operate.

Love it

We lost power about a month after purchase. It ran perfectly for 10 hours straight until power came back on. It ran SO good that at one point when the snow was coming down and the winds were howling I thought to myself "I wonder if we will lose power". Then it dawned on me we already had!

Absolutely Best Generator

I’ve had many generators over the years so when shopping for a new one I read many reviews and the generator that always came on top was the Westinghouse WGen9500DF, Not a brand that entered my mind at first , but being in my 60s I remember the Brand Westinghouse as a leader on all electric, so I purchased, for the all the features it has the price was extremely good. I received on Feb 12 2025 read the manual, pushed the start button and to my relief it “ purred like a kitten” runs steady and great to power my whole house through my transfer switch . If your looking for a well built, user friendly, and reliable generator I highly recommend this generator

Arrived promptly. Four stars only because I've only tested it. Not yet used for a hurricane backup yet. Tested excellent. Cranked at first try. Efficient. Runs quiet for a genny. Easily handles my needs of 2 fridges, one box freezer, one sump pump. Ran off gas. Will test propane tomorrow. . Gauges easy to read and display what I need (fuel level, engine hours).nice extras like a cover for each plug) Good gemny for a reasonable price Good for my home and family's use I've seen a lot of gunny use while serving active suty
