I decided a great way to test the strength was by using this packing tape on a box with a torn surface and filling it with something with some weight to it. I filled it with twenty-16.9 oz water bottles and my niece gave it shake test. It held up great! I will be purchasing for packing the next time I move and would highly recommend this product!

The tape is thick so you don't have to worry about it breaking apart in transit. The dispenser is easy to use, keeps the tape ready so you don't have to search for the end each time you need yo use it.

I have used it on a few different boxes now and have to say it's just above average for packing tape. One thing I do like is the thickness of the tape which gives it a bit more tear resistance than the average packing tape. It has good adhesion but will still peel back off without destroying the box if you needed to get back in it.

Usually you get tape that is hard to tare or tares too easily. But this was great. I highly recommend this for all your packaging needs.

One strip of the tape and my donation boxes had a nice secure hold. Easy to find the start to the tape and it went on smooth and instantly sealed the box closed. Excellent product.

Don't take much to secure the package. I ship multi items out often and am very happy with this.Unfortunately the tape ran out very fast.

Handle is ok and gets the tape off well, so that you are not sitting there trying to get the tape unattached from the roll to use. Overall, good product but not super special. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotch Box Lock Packing Tape is a great product for those who either mail a lot of packages or need to store boxes. With an easy start tab, the tape rips easily and accurately against the jagged edge/teeth. It sticks great (and immediately) to boxes, but is also easy to remove from surface if you need to readjust the tape's location. I also like how easily the tape rolls on the roller ... it didn't seem to stick as some other tape brands are prone to do. 3M provided me a free sample for my honest, unbiased opinion.
