We live in a very old home that was remade redone in the basement is prone to having water both ground water as well as cold temperatures having us connected to our Alexa makes me feel a lot better about the possibilities of either leak or freezing throughout the year easy to set up and will definitely recommend anyone

I'm rating this product 4-stars under the assumption the devices will work if presented with proper conditions. That being said, there are flaws with this product from an end-user experience standpoint. There are two scenarios I've had to find workarounds for that should NOT be difficult to deal with. I purchased these detectors to alert to unwanted water. I really don't have any interest in temperature alarms. I placed the device next to the HVAC drip pan in my attic. With so many homes having HVAC equipment in attics, I'm shocked Kidde hasn't made an accommodation for the flaw I'm about to describe. This winter, we had temperatures drop to the single-digits. A somewhat rare occurrence in Georgia, but it happened. The freeze alarm went off as designed. I have no water lines in my attic. Nothing. Nada. I do NOT want a freeze alarm going off. It wakes people up, and creates unnecessary aggravation. SO... I opened the app to discover I can only "HUSH" the freeze alarm. 15 minutes later, the alarm sounds again... HUSH the alarm again, 15 minutes later, it alarms again. Over and over and over...... When temperatures drop AT NIGHT, the attic temps drop as well. And, there goes the freeze alarm. Over and over and over.... There is NO method to HUSH permanently. There is NO method to tell this thing to ignore temperature alarms. There is NO method to HUSH this thing even for 24 hours so I only have to HUSH it once a day. The ONLY way I was able to solve this nonsense was to climb into the attic and bring the device into the house so it would not alarm. So guess what? Now it is May and the Air Conditioning is running. Guess where my device is? Still inside the house because I haven't gotten around to climbing back up to the attic to put in in place again. You see the problem, Kidde? Think of your users when you are designing these things. This would be a simple firmware and software update to the device and app. A secondary - and very MINOR flaw I'm confident was driven by the finance folks in product development... the "GP" batteries are junk. I feel as if they are a risk of leaking battery goo in these devices. If you decide to buy these sensor devices, use quality batteries and save the "GP" junk batteries for the kids' toys.

Luckily I haven't had a leak or freeze, so I can really speak to its accuracy at detection for those types of things. If you want to use the cool features that go with this, you have to use their app. It'd be nice if they had an open API so it could be compatible with other apps.

keeps losing online connection. restarted several times. gave up

They tell me that I can't use the APP because I have an eero Mesh system for internet. I don't see a warning for that in advetisements. I try to get a Kidde account and the veification to my e-mail address never shows up to complete the APP.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well, already alerted me twice. Two downsides, the alarm is loud enough, i could hear it on first floor with it located in basement. It’s small and isn’t a big bulky item that looks horrible!
