I like the device and I get the floor temperature also but the app is lacking, I want a report a few times a day it seems to communicate only once every 24 hours when normal, I would like more adjustments and latitude. Please improve the app and less advertisements!

Device is excellent at detecting minute moisture across the two metal contacts, sounding built in chirp alarm, and sending a notification to my iPhone. However, the app is a piece of crap. Can’t see the WiFi network nor update it. There’s no reset button inside battery compartment nor on outside. Removing batteries does not seem to reset it. Model # 60WLDR-W

After having water leaks in the past I feel much better now that I have this. It will alert you if you have a leak or if temperatures are nearing freezing so that you don't have any frozen pipes. It's super easy to install. I think the quality and value of this detector is very good. I highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this freeze and leak detector to put in a room that gets pretty cold in the winter time to make sure I don’t freeze up water lines. It seems like cheap insurance to me. I’ve tested the product and it works as expected. The only fault I can find with the product is it is extremely hard to connect to the mobile app. It took 5 times or resetting the detector to finally get it to work properly.

I have not used it for the freeze feature yet, but that's a good thing as I haven't had to. It's very small and compact so doesn't look too bulky or obviously sticking out in the space

I bought a water leak detector a few weeks ago to put next to my air handler's drip pan in case the sump pump ran out of power and started leaking. Sure enough last week the alarm started going off and I got a push notification on my phone. Went into the garage and noticed a small amount of water draining onto the concrete floor. Was able to reset the GFI outlet to turn the pump back on and clean up the water before it had become a larger flood issue. Going to get a few more of these for my laundry room and under each sink.

i bought this for the app alarm and no matter what i did i could not get the device to connect to my wifi for hours. i continuously kept trying and it could not find the device even though it was right next to my phone and wifi. finally after it connected i tested it on a plate of water and worked instantly. but now i have a fear of the app not working. it does have a backup of working without the app still if the app fails which is good. it is a good product, would be 5 stars if the app connected easier. not sure if its just me or a common issue.

Started off with one sensor and it worked flawlessly detecting a hot water tank leaking at my work. Allows for many workers'to have the app and get instant notifications once a leak happens. App has the ability to give more or less authority with actions which is nice too. Sends a email when problem is happening, also sends the temperature in the room if gets to cold or hot for pipes !!! After the success with first unit I've installed 4 more it's that good a product! I highly recommend this to save your place of prolonged water damage, the only issue I had a minor one was first connecting the app to each device. Sometimes I had to try couple times to get wifi to finish the install, take battery out and start process over when it freezes. In end they all connected and work great..not cheap but not overly expensive either considering what water damage would cost in the end Happy customer!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Kidde Water Leak + Freeze Detector is a smart device that can alert you to water leaks and freezing pipes. About the size of a hockey puck, it can be placed under sinks, toilets, or near pipes to monitor for water leaks or freezing pipes. When it detects a leak or a hazardous temperature for a pipe, it beeps once every three seconds and sends you a notification through Kidde's mobile app so you can take appropriate action such as calling 911 or another emergency number which you can specify within the mobile app. I had trouble connecting the device to my Wifi network. Kidde gives you the option to scan a QR code on the device and connect through that, but after following all the prompts, the app searched for device before stopping with a message saying no device found. After trying again and again, resetting the device by removing and reinserting batteries, I finally managed to add this device manually using Bluetooth and selecting the detector through a list of available Bluetooth devices. Once I managed to add the device to my Wi-Fi network, I found the app very intuitive and informative. After testing it by shorting two metal contacts on the back of the device (by placing to metal objects on them), it sent me a notification through the app. All in all, this is a good device to have around the house, but Wi-Fi connectivity could definitely be improved.

Installed this detector in the laundry room as we just had a leak from the washer as the hoses were not connected correctly. This unit worked great at alerting us before any major damage was done. I would recommend having one of these in your home. Saved us lots of costly repairs.
