Great feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great new product from kiddie- a brand we trust. We put this under our water heater for ehe ability to detect leaks in the garage. I can’t attest to the durability or effectiveness. Like a smoke alarms this definitely gives us piece of mind.

Nice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this water and freeze detector. I like that it is battery powered so there is no wiring required. After having water leaks in the past I feel much better now that I have this. It will alert you if you have a leak or if temperatures are nearing freezing so that you don't have any frozen pipes. It's super easy to install. I think the quality and value of this detector is very good. I highly recommend.

Easy to Set Up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Water Leak + Freeze Detector was easy to set-up and connect to my home network; although I'm not sure why it needed my location to set it up. Also, the detector does beep/chirp when first setting it up, which caught me off guard. Overall, the detector is small, compact and easy to place/hide. Fortunately, I haven't had to actually use the detector so I'm not sure how quickly it will actually detect water, but it does provide the temperature so that's easy to monitor.

Every home needs one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect little monitor for water leaks or freezes. Love that you can use the app in case anything happens while you are away so you can alert a house sitter or neighbor. Battery operated so you can rely on it even if there is a power outage.

Decent but one HUGE flaw.

I'm rating this product 4-stars under the assumption the devices will work if presented with proper conditions. That being said, there are flaws with this product from an end-user experience standpoint. There are two scenarios I've had to find workarounds for that should NOT be difficult to deal with. I purchased these detectors to alert to unwanted water. I really don't have any interest in temperature alarms. I placed the device next to the HVAC drip pan in my attic. With so many homes having HVAC equipment in attics, I'm shocked Kidde hasn't made an accommodation for the flaw I'm about to describe. This winter, we had temperatures drop to the single-digits. A somewhat rare occurrence in Georgia, but it happened. The freeze alarm went off as designed. I have no water lines in my attic. Nothing. Nada. I do NOT want a freeze alarm going off. It wakes people up, and creates unnecessary aggravation. SO... I opened the app to discover I can only "HUSH" the freeze alarm. 15 minutes later, the alarm sounds again... HUSH the alarm again, 15 minutes later, it alarms again. Over and over and over...... When temperatures drop AT NIGHT, the attic temps drop as well. And, there goes the freeze alarm. Over and over and over.... There is NO method to HUSH permanently. There is NO method to tell this thing to ignore temperature alarms. There is NO method to HUSH this thing even for 24 hours so I only have to HUSH it once a day. The ONLY way I was able to solve this nonsense was to climb into the attic and bring the device into the house so it would not alarm. So guess what? Now it is May and the Air Conditioning is running. Guess where my device is? Still inside the house because I haven't gotten around to climbing back up to the attic to put in in place again. You see the problem, Kidde? Think of your users when you are designing these things. This would be a simple firmware and software update to the device and app. A secondary - and very MINOR flaw I'm confident was driven by the finance folks in product development... the "GP" batteries are junk. I feel as if they are a risk of leaking battery goo in these devices. If you decide to buy these sensor devices, use quality batteries and save the "GP" junk batteries for the kids' toys.

Fits in the palm of my hand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This alarm is really tiny enough to fit in the palm of my hand. easy to place where you want it under the water heater or under a sink and with the app downloaded you get alerts when there is a leak or detect freeze. pretty convenient and easy to use.

Can’t remotely control

Once it gets below 39° it won’t tell me what the temperature is. It goes into alarm repeatedly and cannot be silenced permanently remotely so now it’s making noise and bothering my neighbors because I can’t get to that house right away. .KiddeEngineers didn’t think this one through

Really helpful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I'm really glade i got this. The app monitoring is very helpful. I added my wife to it so she can receive any alerts as well. Easy to use and set up. Tells you the temp so you know if you need to worry about chances of freezing pipes or not. I put it in a spot with known leak and it did its job letting me know there was a leak.

Good size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great size to put in hard to reach or convenient locations. The feature of setting up an alert(s) via WiFi is comforting especially when not at home. The water sensing feature is what interested me the most in protecting my home.

Great detector for peace of mind!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This detector will be great for future peace of mind. When I needed to turn on my AC again going into this spring the drainage tube clogged and unfortunately the bobber did not turn it off. That meant that it flooded and caused damage to my floor and 2nd floor ceiling under it. Now with this detector I’ll know if it ever happens again and can shut it off! The detector itself works great, I tested it a couple times and it’s able to detect water very well. The app is also nice and easy to use. The only issue I had was connecting it to wifi took multiple tries and much longer than it should have with connectivity issues. Besides registration this would be 5 stars!!
