Very good

This fish smelled awful, the texture was weird, and it even upset our dog’s stomach. Our house smelled for a week. I will never buy this again.

Bought this cod on July 21 and it had a sell by date of July 24. Cooked it last night on July 22. When I opened package it was one of the worst smelling fish I ever bought. Tried rinsing it off to get some of that smell off but it didn't help much. Still cooked it and it was horrible. Will never buy again and probably won't ever buy from this brand ever.

Stunk! Spoiled??

I bought this yesterday. Broiled it the same evening.Tasted very old and no one in family could eat it. Fresh Cod broiled is a family favorite. I usually get it from Costco in Traverse City, Mi. or the Meijers store...Always good, even if eaten after freezing it for a week or two. Now I have to go to the bother of returning to store for a refund.

I purchase this cod often, most recently on Monday (8/12). It is always fresh and tasty. I decided to weigh the fish once I got home. I am so appalled that the package stated 2.51 Lbs (40.16 ounces) and after weighing the fish, I actually purchased 2.20 Lbs (35.25 ounces) - missing over a quarter pound of cod! Bad when you are trying to plan meals for a family and also a terrible and illegal business practice. The amount shown on the package SHOULD NOT include the packaging and the wet padding underneath the fish!!! So disgusted and ripped off. Fix this Sam's!!!

Purchased in store. Opened 5 days before well by date. Refrigerator had a weird smell. When we opened the package it smelled so bad we couldn’t get it out of the house fast enough. We knew refrigerator super cold. We wasted $20. There was no way we were attempting to freeze to return and stink the freezer. Would give no stars if possible

This product is horrible. I picked this cod fish up hoping to make one of my favorite recipes, “Cod Almondine.” I purchased all my ingredients from Sams Club of course; I placed the two beautiful advertised “Cod Fish” in my cart along with more items I needed to pickup for restocking our refrigerator. I was so excited, my mouth was drizzling and heart pumping with exhilaration that I final was able to cook my dish after almost a year. I arrived home, cleaned my produce and put away my fruits, vegetables, proteins and fry goods. Now I was ready to prepare my wonderful entree until the unthinkable happened; I made this mistake and opened the package, that’s when my heart dropped to below my patella. Oh No, No, No! Why me, why today and why this beautiful pieces of our ecosystem was destroyed for nothing, it smelled like something from the sewerage. My entire home reeked with the smell of sewage, my heart weeped with despair. I had not prepared to cook my family nothing more than “Cod Almondine”, what was I gonna do, nothing was thawed out and by that time I was just trying to get the stench out of my house. So I did the next best thing we ordered out. I was totally distraught, I pride myself on preparing a daily meal for my beloved family. This was my first and very last time getting fresh cod from Sams Club. I would not recommend this item to my worst enemy, don’t do it, if you buy your entering this agreement at your own risk. Don’t do it, don’t do it, you will for sure error; I’m just saying.

I’ve bought the fresh filets quite a few times now, and I’ve never been disappointed. I fry some of it the same day I purchase it, and I freeze the rest for later use. I’ve never experienced a bad smell or a bad taste. They’re much, much better than the frozen filets!
