Excellent Cod . Living in the mid west it’s hard to get good fish. It was firm and no bones in it. No fishy smell either. I made a great fish chowder. It was tasty.

Bought this as Sam’s no longer carries the plain, frozen cod portions for some reason. This fillet cooked well, tastes fine, but has a very strong fish odor (bacteria) out of the package and when reheated. Bring back the wild caught, plain, frozen cod portions please.

I purchase this cod often, most recently on Monday (8/12). It is always fresh and tasty. I decided to weigh the fish once I got home. I am so appalled that the package stated 2.51 Lbs (40.16 ounces) and after weighing the fish, I actually purchased 2.20 Lbs (35.25 ounces) - missing over a quarter pound of cod! Bad when you are trying to plan meals for a family and also a terrible and illegal business practice. The amount shown on the package SHOULD NOT include the packaging and the wet padding underneath the fish!!! So disgusted and ripped off. Fix this Sam's!!!

Very disappointed. Even though the fish was cryovaced it still was old.

This looked good on display, however when I opened it, there was a strong odor! I rinsed it well with cold water. Baked it with seasonings. Both my husband and I disliked the taste and threw it away.

Fish was VERY SMELLY. Did not eat it.

This time this Cod fillets were super salty, which is weird as it's supposed to be wild caught and fresh.

Purchased on 4/3/25 and cooked it on 4/4/25. Date on package was to purchase by 4/9/25. Smell was horrible. Someone walked into the house hours later and asked what the bad smell was. Never again. I'll stick with frozen fish. We are new members and this was our first trip to Sam's Club. There are reviews of this cod going back 4-5 years stating the same problem. Why does Sam's Club not react to this? Very concerning.

The fish looked fresh and we had never gone wrong with this cod before. It didn't appear that anything was wrong when we were preparing it. However, the fish had a distinctive bitter taste that was not from the seasoning from preparation. Needless to say we had to change our plans for a delicious fish dinner. We went back to Sams Club to explain what happened and they graciously refunded our purchase price. We may try the cod again since we have always had a good experience before. We just wonder what went wrong?

The cod was spoiled. I ordered online for delivery and once it was delivered, it went straight in the freezer. Once I took it out to cook about 2 weeks later, that is when I discovered it was spoiled. I immediately went called customer service and with no problem or issues was given a gift card for sam's. com or walmart.com or I can use the gift card in store. The customer service rep was courteous and she provided outstanding customer service. This is why I love both Sam's and Walmart and will continue to shop both places for life.
