Purchased this unit on a Saturday morning, by Sunday afternoon I had been notified it was already in transit, Monday morning I was notified it was in town, and by Wednesday afternoon it was in my driveway. Never got notified it was being delivered, it just showed up. I was able to assemble and get it completed in 20 hrs. including staining and protecting the woodwork, I would highly recommend sorting, inventorying, staining and waterproofing before you start assembly, assembly was not difficult, however it requires you to VERY CLOSELY look and follow the instructions or you're going to screw up. The quality of the wood was very good, all the holes and hardware lined up and went smooth, you're going to need at least 3 people to stand it up (will need them for a couple hours). My only complaints are the crappy anchors they send for the concrete are terrible (I opted to get some real red head concrete anchors instead) and the metal roofing doesn't extend past the drip edge far enough to work very well (1/4" as per instructions). I already have a spot developing on one of the main posts where the wood split a little due to an imperfection in the grain and is starting to swell up some after a good rain, it was stained and water sealed with 2 coats prior, we will see how it goes and maybe need to warranty that post down the road if it continues to get worse. I am likely to purchase another one to build an outdoor kitchen under if this proves to hold up well

The finish product after weather sealing looks great. The wood slats for the roof were warped from sitting in a warehouse but I was able to force the beams into position. The four support legs were not solid wood but 1x5 boards glued together which was disappointing and the support legs are hollow. The cedar is soft so you have to be careful not to screw into it with too much torque.

My partner and I built this grillzebo over a couple of weekends. The video directions and the booklet made the assembly process very clear given the complexity of the design. My husband originally wanted to build something from scratch, but I’m glad we went with this tried and true design. It is worth the added cost. The individual pieces are cut in such a way to make them not so heavy or unwieldy. The only difficult part was getting the roof on but my partner who is over 6 ft was able to do it with the help of 2 friends. There were a few boards that arrived with small cracks in them, but they didn’t compromise the integrity of the structure and is not that noticeable. I’m interested to see how soon the cedar starts to gray and needs to be stained, but hoping we can get away with doing that next season.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have really the gazebo for several reasons. It is sturdy & provides shelter from the weather when grilling in the rain or in the hot sun. There is plenty of room for a large grill & still have room to move around. I have added lights & enjoy the ambiance as well. It truly adds so much to the backyard space.

We bought this over the summer and built it after the concrete slab was poured. Super quality. We are 68 and 75 and only needed help lifting the roof on. We sealed all the wood before construction and plan to reseal every year. I would not hesitate to buy - what a great addition to our home.

This gazebo looks great! Easy to assemble and functions well. The only issue is the top front header doesn’t align well on the right side. One of the black brackets there would add the the strength and aesthetics of the gazebo. This is my second gazebo ( the other in another location) and they both look awesome!

As a man with pale skin, this coverage has saved my life. It prevents those nasty UV rays from raging war on my skin. The aesthetics are great as well. My boyfriend loves how it matches our home. He is able to freely decorate it as he pleases. It’s a winning combo!

We love the cedar and metal stylings and the Saxony XL is ample enough to accommodate our Kamado Joe smoker plus our Napoleon Phantom grill. We opted for the professional installation from Backyard Discovery, which was totally awesome. Within a few hours we were able to enjoy this new addition to our home’s entertainment area. We added shatterproof Edison bulbs to the gazebo adding a fun party vibe. Truly, we could not be more pleased. Well done Backyard Discovery. This is an A+ for us.

I would give it 5 stars but a couple of the boards don’t line up perfectly preventing the screws from sitting flush. I hope that doesn’t lead to issues down the road. For now, we are very happy with this purchase!!!
