The Backyard Discovery Saxony XL Grill Gazebo exceeded my expectations. We chose the DIY option. It wasn't too difficult to assemble took 3 of us about 6 hours to complete. We ran into one hiccup, but a quick call to the customer service line had the issue resolved in no time at all. If I was to do it again I would probably pay the extra money to have someone else put it together, unless you truly enjoy building things I would recommend a installer. The Gazebo itself is high quality and looks amazing. They do recommend you weather seal it after you put it together, so make sure you plan to do that to keep it looking amazing for years to come. The plugs it comes with are great and a nice added touch. Overall, this gazebo is a home run and a great value. It is super durable and feels solid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wife bought this for my birthday. Really good to have some shade on a summer day. Remember to anchor down as mine was caught by the wind and blew over onto our fence..... Didn't hurt the gazebo but hard on the fence. Well built!

The Saxony Grill kit was the best summer investment for our backyard .. after the prep work done it took 1 day to assemble and setup the easy to follow book of instructions . All parts were well marked and fit solid .. the added electrical hookups were a bonus feature ….soooo many compliments on the finished project and holds together under all weather conditions

We purchased two of them with the assembly services included. We joined them side by side against the house wall making a great 40'x9.5 shaded space in the backyard. Because we bolted them to the wall we were able to remove 2 columns (house side). The space looks great, and has transformed our backyard. We now eat there all the time with family and friends. We stained it (clear stain) to give it more protection against the weather. We also added a fan and string lights which make it look even better. This product is robust and off good quantity. Big value for the price. I would recommend this to anybody. The assembly team was great too and was able to assemble them both in one day (10 hours). I took care of the bolting to the house and cutting of the columns.

Just bought this gazebo for our backyard - delivery was fast, the assembly looks reasonable, and the quality is AMAZING! I like the idea of the built-in PowerPort - it’s something I didn’t find on other gazebos - and I think it will definitely come in handy for our first grill date night! I can’t wait to use it!

Great quality in materials. Easy to read directions. Saw this at a local Sam's and had to get it for the new Pitt Boss. My hubby fretted and moaned about another project but he came around lol. Took hubby a day to put it together. Got it on sale earlier in the summer. We keep our smoker combo grill under it. I've sat stools around it and plugged the Margaritaville maker into the outlet bar. Summer was a heatwave and this really helps to shade it. Keeps the rain and hail off as well. I had the idea to put 16x16 concrete pavers under each leg. I'm the brains and hubby's the braun in our household. Protects them from the lawn and also the weed eater. It's such a nice addition to our covered patio and I'm so glad we don't have to have the grill under crammed under it.. It's nearby without being to close.

We bought this gazebo a few months ago and absolutely love it! It was relatively easy to assemble and is made of high quality, durable material. It was the perfect addition to the backyard. We spend almost every evening out back enjoying the gazebo! It's also very easy to accessorize. We love it and highly recommend it!

It is always nice to get a little more than you paid for. This gazebo looks excellent and is very functional. It is a lovely addition to our backyard and well worth the money spent. The wood and hardware are exceptional, and the instructions are easy to follow.

I needed a gazebo no taller than 8 feet or so, since I wanted to keep my tress without much trimming. This gazebo fits our space perfectly. I know it's called the 'XL Grill Gazebo', but for us it's the pool tools and shade gazebo. The power box and shelves are perfect for pool items and other backyard tools. The shade space is great. I would have loved a bigger one, but don't have the space in the area I had designated. Installation was professional and my dealings with the BYD service folk was outstanding. The quality of the solid cedar wood parts is exceptional. I would definitely recommend BYD with no reservations.

This is a quality product with all included hardware. I deviated from some chronological assembly steps for a few reasons. 1. I bolted the four posts to the concrete before attaching the roof because I did not want a gust of wind to blow it over. 2. I assembled the roof truss framing and installed it before adding sheetmetal. It was easier to lift into place and secure first. I then installed the sheetmetal. The directions called for the perimeter roof trim to be placed 360° on top of the sheetmetal ribs. The problem is that the design does not take into consideration the need for a rear drip edge. I did not want water to flow under the trim and down the wood. I, therefore, placed the tear trim under the ribs. Water will now be directed 1/2 inch away from the wood and will then drop straight down. It will also alleviate pine needles from getting trapped under the trim.
