Customer reviews for Samsung 55" Class TU700D-Series Crystal Ultra HD 4K Smart TV UN55TU700DFXZA forOnly lasted 5 days...
bought the tv on 10/14. stopped working 5 days later. won't power on. standby light blinks every few seconds. went through all troubleshooting steps. warranty claim requiring me to wait 3 days to get it serviced. i like samsung tvs and have had good luck with a few i have owned, but sometimes, things just are lemons. just seems like i should be able to swap it out with another one.
ck00: Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU7000 TV. I am very sorry that you are experiencing issues turning your TV on. While you are waiting for Samsung Service, you may want to try the following troubleshooting steps: (1) Make sure that the AC power cord is securely plugged in to the TV and the wall outlet. (2) Make sure that the wall outlet is working and the power indicator at the bottom of the TV is lit and glowing a solid red. If it is off, the TV either does not have power, or it is on and the screen is black. If it is blinking, your TV may need service. (3) Try pressing the TV Controller button at the bottom of the TV to make sure that the problem is not with the remote control. (4) If the TV turns on, your issue may be with the remote control I hope this helps. Ok for price
picture is good but for 2020 model uhd expected better. what really is a disappointment is the legs for the tv they are way too wide apart did not fit well on my tv stand as a corner unit the legs are about to fall off the back of it. they are very thin and does not have any non-skid material on them, the look is cheap. i purchased a 65 inch but had to change the order for a 55 inch since the leg design was this way.
Worst TV I've ever owned
Bought this TV 2 years ago as a TV for my bedroom, I rarely watch TV in my bedroom and the first year and a half I maybe turned it on for a total of 5 hours, in the last 6 months I started using more often and average about 2-3 hours a day 3-4 times a week. It is now in a constant shutdown and restart mode and I can't even get the screen to stay on past the Samsung Smart TV screen. I have tried the unplugging and plugging back in after 30 seconds method, checked the power cord, replaced the power cord with a new one, unplugged it for a week and plugged it back in and still cycles the same. For the price and how little it has been used, it should have lasted a lot longer than it did. I had a repair shop look at it and they said the power supply circuit was toast and causing the constant loop, the price to repair it is more than the TV cost new. I will never buy Samsung TV again especially after reading this is a common issue amongst almost all models they make. Save yourself the hassle and buy a Vizio brand TV, they are cheaper, same quality from my experience and last a whole lot longer.
Nice features, dark picture.
This Is a pretty good tv. At times the picture seems a bit dark even with the brightness all the way up. There are so many advanced adjustments available for the picture I have no idea where to start. Samsung. Please start to make the optimal picture settings available online. I should not have to pay an expert to calibrate my picture or buy a setup DVD. You guys have to know how to best adjust the picture and so I should be able to find all of those settings on your website.
Hi Tdub, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We will be sure to share your feedback with our teams so we can continually improve our products, services, and processes. Thanks again.
It'll do
I bought this TV because we moved, I needed one and I liked the price. If you like the “soap opera” effect on everything, you'll be fine. You can change it, However the clarity of the image goes down drastically. Another thing that's frustrating, when the TV is turned on it automatically starts playing Samsung TV. Not that big a deal except waiting more than a few seconds causes more button pushing to get to where you want to go. Personally I would prefer the TV‘s that have Amazon fire built-in.
DOESNT WORK WITH ALL DEVICES
my first review was censored. This TV simply doesn't work, XBOX series X and Nintendo have both been a problem for months. I cant give you full details of all the troubleshooting steps I've gone through or this post won't be allowed by Samsung but it has been insane. I am now stuck with a TV that only works with one (Apple TV) of my three devices. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!
Hi Roy G, We are sorry to hear that you are having issues connecting your Samsung TU7000 TV to external devices. Please try the following tips to help connect your external devices. When connecting to external devices, please make sure you enable Input Signal Plus and Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) on your TV. Anynet+ will control external devices that are connected to your TV with HDMI. Please keep in mind you will not be able to use Anynet+ if this feature is not supported on your receiver. Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. Very disappointed!!
TV quit working haven't had it two years yet! This is the second time it's quit working. The first time after two or three days, it finally started back, showing a picture . Now the second time around, it's quit working and have spent countless hours, unplugging and plugging and troubleshooting but this time it's not coming back on or working!! do not buy!!!
Black screen of death.
This is my first bad Samsung TV. I've bought many Samsungs because I like the features they offer but recently I bought a 65” and this 70”, both tvs were lightly used but this on w died after 3 years. This comes as a surprise to me because this tv probably has less than 1k hours of on time. This tv is stuck at a black screen where it cycles on and off all day/ everyday unless i unplug it
Good tv beside this short life it has.
This model of tv must have defects built into it. This is the second TU7000 we had, each one only lasted two years almost to the day. Both time it was the main panel. We are waiting for yet another tv replacement. It gets costly with the travel time and cost of replacing this television. Once was bad enough but twice in four years, come on Samsung you need better model.

msui: I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing multiple issues with your TU7000 even after a service appointment. I understand your disappointment and frustration. You may want to reset your TV to factory settings by going to Settings > General > Reset Additionally, to check your network, please try the following troubleshooting steps: 1) Check the distance between the TV and your modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft. (15.2 m). 2) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.) 3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem. Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test 4) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again. 5) Please also be sure you have the latest firmware update. You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update. For further assistance or service, please contact us via any of the following options: 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM -12AM EST, 7 days a week Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link in the upper right corner of the homepage for: 1) Contact Us Options (LiveChat, Remote Support, Facebook, Twitter) 2) Product Support 3) Manuals and Downloads 4) Warranty Info 5) Product Registration: Registering your product gives you access to easy warranty support, convenient opt-in to special promos and offers, faster troubleshooting and service, and quick notification of system updates 6) Samsung Community: A great resource for getting help from Samsung moderators and customers and more 7) …and more product, repair, order, and care options ~ Samsung Solutions
