Problems too soon

I haven't even printed 50 pages and there's an alignment problem where printed text looks like the old fashion 3D effect where the black text has a fuzzy color halo effect.

Almost great, but annoying scanner flaw

I'm happy with almost everything about this printer except that when scanning it cuts a few millimeters off the sides. I'm taking a star off because of the hours I spent trying to figure this out. I ended up glueing a little 10mm x 10mm grid to all 4 corners of a piece of letter paper, and found that using Brother's iPrint&Scan application to scan produces an image that is 2479x3230 and cuts 3mm off the top and left sides and 4mm off the bottom and right sides, whereas using Mac's Preview application to scan produces an image that is 2544x3303 and cuts 2mm off of only the right side. So I will stop using Brother's application. As for that 2mm, I wonder if it's a manufacturing defect where they just misaligned the scanner and the glass bed. If so Brother's QA is disappointing. 2mm probably doesn't make a difference for scanning documents, but it sure does for scanning images. Also I wish the document feeder for the printer had a little folding extension to keep the paper straight. Really surprised it doesn't, since the scanner feeder and the printer output both have folding extensions.

Legal size paper printing is difficult

The only bad thing about it is that if you want to print on legal size paper, you have to feed it one page at a time into the front load manual paper feeder. The bottom paper tray states it holds legal paper but it does not. Moving the paper stop back was not far enough, I was unable to close the paper tray. When manually feeding it, it jammed a few times, requiring me to take the toners out to remove the paper. It also pulled it in crooked a few times. It does print out nice pictures and other than needing to use legal size paper, I haven't had any other issues in the eleven months I've had it. Thankfully, using legal paper is rare for me.

not as good as my old 8910 printer.

Numerous problems with losing connectiion to my computer. Constantly getting popups that something is not connected. Will not print on both sides. Some color issues printing loses some of the color.

Brother makes printers that last

So far so good. The setup was easy and the print quality is good. I am sold on Brother after my last Brother MFC b/w laser printer lasted for nearly 21 years before the control panel went out. Impressive!

Difficult to wirelessly fax without a phone line.

Machine prints and scans well. It is difficult to wirelessly fax as software is not included for wireless faxing. Was using an HP machine and wirelessly faxing was very easy to accomplish on HP.

Nice printer, scanner

The printer work fine. Reasonably quiet. The top feed (when you need to scan a bunch of stuff and don't want to do it one at a time) for paper works very well.

Best home office decision I could make.

Less expensive than the inkjet printer I replaced it with. Sharp, crisp printouts, so much better. Setup was simple and easy. I always thought laser printers were too expensive, found that is NOT the case.

Great Quality. Toner Cost?

I really like the operation of the printer and the print quality. Right now I'm mostly worried about how much toner is going to cost me, which is why I use my ink jet print (another brand) more often
