Right after we purchased the shredder, it worked great. It was only used a few times a week, usually to get rid of junk cc apps. Now, it pulsates on and off several times, just trying to shred one piece of paper. The reverse button works just like it should, but the forward action pulsates just the same. I found a video on YouTube that is supposedly a fix. We'll see... It's a shame since it's less than a year old.

Amazingly EAGER! We have had several Fellows before--maybe these were odd fellows or poor fellows, but they were not nearly a "Member's Mark"! Extremely efficient "micro-cutting" (pelletizing) of a stack of real 24 pound paper with very little paper dust! When the bin is full, a person (me!) can transfer the remains single-handedly into a grocery bag for recycling. For the price, capacity, ease of operation, and extremely low dust generation, an amazing machine!

This is the first time I have had any issues with Member's Mark brand items. After a month of use, the shedder started overheating after a few pages. Also, it started running funny. It started to pause every few seconds, taking a long time just to shred one page.

This product stopped working after 3 months. It shredded fine when I first bought it. Then it would shred intermittently. I would put paper in it to shred. Then it would start and stop multiple times without sending the paper all the way through. I called the help desk. They told me to run a q-tip with alcohol back and forth in the slot where the paper is inserted. Then wait 30 min before using. I did this several times hoping it would work after trying 752 times. It did not. It seems that quite a few of us are having a similar issue. It also seems that this product is defective and needs to be recalled. When I called the help desk again, they were kind enough to refund the purchase price and told me I could do whatever I wanted with the shredder. I have dismantled it and reassembled it. Still the same issue. Guess I’ll be using that refund to buy a new shredder, but not a Member’s Mark brand.

It worked great for about 6 months then it shredded for a second then stopped and repeated this cycle again and again. Chatting with a Sam's service person and she recommended to bring it to a Sam's Club to get a replacement and that was what I did this morning. However, the service person in the club does not let me to have a replacement. Instead, he just give me a refund and told me to buy a new one from the shell. The problem is that it is now $59.68 while I bought it for $53.98.

If you need a simple shredder and don't mind feeding in about half dozen sheets a time, this is okay. If you need a heavy duty shredder to do some continuous shredding, this isn't going to be a happy experience for you. Starting squeaking after a few uses. Not sure if it will be a keeper....

Thought it was the power socket but now reading the reviews it’s doing the same as everyone else’s complaint. Powers in and out like a loose plug, plug it in another socket and same thing. Green power light fades in and out while pulsating shredding the paper.

Like others have mentioned, this shredder doesn't last. It just gets occasional home use but now it pulls in the paper about an inch at a time. At the same time, the power light dims. I don't know if it's an electrical issue or what. My last shredder (different brand) lasted for years. I'll be going back to the store that one came from and purchase another.

I spent over an hour shredding an entire bin of paper that we had already sorted and laid each page flat so it makes the process faster without fighting with envelopes. It was 3 trash bags full, without ever overheating!!! I only stopped to empty the bin which was about 12 times. The only down side is it will falsely tell you the bin is full because the slot is on one side not the middle and the shreds stack up on that side. I just gave it a quick shake and kept going until it was really full.

The marketing gives you everything but the fine print takes a lot of it away. Based on the reviews of people who have had this 90 days or longer, had problems, and tried to get Sam's to honor their member's satisfaction guarantee (they didn't) I would not buy this.
