I bought the alarm an installed it in February this year. No problems until this week, when it suddenly starts going off for 3-5 seconds in the middle of the night. By the time I get up and get to it, it's stopped beeping. I press "reset" -- it does its "green" flashes every 60s to say it's ok, but then 1/2 hour later, it does the same thing. Interrupted sleep for two nights. Checked online and there are tons of people who experience the same problem. Sounds like Kidde alarms are a dud for many, many folks

This combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector is absolute garbage! I have bought all types of kidde product's as a owner/landlord of multiple home's. I opted for the 10 yr lithium so, I didn't have to worry about replacing battery's or missing unit's in general. I took the first one out of the package, test, reset %26 the dang thing wouldn't stop going off! I eventually had to wrap in a towel, placed in a safe and threw the dang thing in my trunk! Two days later it finally expired %26 will be returning all 6 unit's! So much for a 10 yr lithium battery huh!? I suggest buying individual one's as my intuition was right %26 you can place the carbon monoxide one closer to floor level. Save your time and money. Kidde do Better!! You have our families precious life's relying on being alerted to a emergency.

was very excited to not have to worry about batteries in a smoke detector and its also a carbon monoxide detector. however the smoke alarm randomly goes off with no smoke or heat anywhere, usually its like 3 a.m when it does it. very aggravating, i think ill go back to classic battery smoke detector.

Kidde is an excellent smoke and CO detector, and I have always used this brand. Reason for buying a new detector is because my old detector requiring yearly battery replacement stopped working. So, I this new detector with a 10 year battery life. Reason for giving it a 4 star rating instead of 5, is because the base is smaller than my old detector and I had to drill new holes in my wall position it to cover the old holes.

Installed on 1/20/2025. On Oct 3, 2025 the smoke detector started going off every few minutes. Nothing was wrong. Could not get the alarm to stop going off, even after rotating slotted arrow. Placed it outside and the dogs didn’t appreciate it, so my husband took a hammer to it. We have another smoke detector to put our bedroom hallway, but every time we put it up it goes off. Kidde does not answer their phones.

I had this for less than two months before it started going off for no reason and had to be forced to shut down. Middle of the night it started going off, no signs of anything, fire department came and checked the whole house for fire or carbon monoxide, gave an all clear. Even when it was taken outdoors it was still going off. So less than two months after buying it I had to spend more money and buy another alarm.

I bought this in Spring of 2025, and here I sit in December with it chirping randomly. No matter how many times I reset it or try to stop it, it continues to chirp randomly throughout the week. And I can't get it off the wall. So today, I am ready to smash it with a hammer and replaster... that's how crazy I am from the chirping of this garbage alarm. You too, can have this experience... just buy one of these "10-year battery" alarms! But I'd pass, if I were you. UPDATE: E-mail response was to replace the battery. Ummm... that's the reason I bought the 10-yr and they're not supposed to be replaced anyway, sooo... maybe that's someone new? Anyway, I called, and the nice gentleman on the phone says they're sending me a replacement. So I will enthrall you with my updates if anything goes wrong with the alarm in the next few months. We'll see!

Easy instructions, I like the convenience of not having to replace the battery

Easy to hang up on the wall. I hope we never need to use it but if we do it will save our lives!
