this product deserves no stars. as a kid, i learned to use the grill at age 8 because my stepfather was southern and he loved bbq. i havent grilled myself because i didnt have a grill at my apartment. now that i have a house, i couldnt wait to buy a grill and get kingsford "blue bag" charcoal. i must say, i am very disappointed. the coals burned to quickly and they went out immediately. we had to keep adding coals and relighting. i did this twice to cook a medium well steak. very disappointed. this is a product i grew up on and it let me down. i want to give no stars but it will not let me. so know that even though i give 1 star, i really mean -1.

We have used Kingsford charcoal three or more times a week for decades with excellent results. Now, everything is coming out charred on the outside, even with cutting the amount of charcoal back and keeping the vents closed. So far we still haven't discovered how to adapt our use to duplicate our old, *perfect* results. I don't know how the new charcoal compares to other brands, but it sure can't stand up to the old Kingsford.

The weather was right for a grilled steak and I went out and got a fresh bag of Kingsford and 2 steaks. It was wonderful ! The coals were hotter then ever and ready in 15 min. Cabin fever was over the Grill is back in use ! We use it 3 to 4 times a week most of the year and this snow the last three weeks made for some less then great meals. I have used Kingsford for thirty years and nothing comes close. Had I read this email before I cooked I would have had picture of the grill and melting snow and great steaks.

I have grown up with Kingsford and have always been happiest with the results i got from it. I am sorry to say I can no longer say that. Since the change in briquets they are smaller and don't work as well as they used to. Our entire family has noticed this , while the still work just fine for burgers and hot dogs, they fail for any longer cooking requirements like chicken.

i grew up watching my dad grilling with the old style coals and he loved it. but if you could have heard the word that came out of his mouth when yall changed to the new coals he hated the new coals and so do i. would love to see the old style coals come back the new ones are much smaller and takes more coals to preform the same amount of grilling witch cost us more $$$

Been grilling for 30 plus years, used to buy your product with out question, as it was the best. Not any more. The briquettes light about the same, but burn out way to fast. I know the reason for this is to make the consumer use and buy more charcoal. I have been using lump charcoal from Smart & Final and it works great. More heart and a much longer burn time. Maybe if others follow suit Kingsford will put quality back into their brand instead of just money in their pockets.

I’ve been using your product since I was a teen. Everything was fine up until a couple of years ago when I noticed the coals didn’t appear to be as hot as they used to be. I thought it was my Weber grill so I cleaned it and the same problem. Then I started to read reviews of people with the same observations. My problems used to be how to keep the heat down, now I can’t even sear a steak.

We buy nothing but Kingsford original Charcoal because there is no mistaking the quality. With the ease of lighting it and the long burn there is nothing else that we'd trust with all of our grilling/smoking adventures! Kingsford has never let us down!

We like the original charcoal because we like to add our own seasons. We once needed charcoal on a last minute's notice and the mini grocery store only carried another brand. It wasn't even worth it...we could have cooked the steak in a pan and it would have been better than that charcoal. We now always buy only Kingsford!! We only grill with charcoal...no gas used in our backyard bbqs. We use the Match Light when we do campfires so that we don't have to carry any more things than necessary when we hike.

I have tried many brands of charcoal, and I always came back to Kingsford. I finally realized this and for years now I will only use Kingsford in my pit. I can always rely on Kingsford to cook the same no matter what. I can accurately monitor temperature, the smoke flavor is always good, and it always burns evenly no matter if I use direct or indirect cooking methods. I already recommend this charcoal to my family and friends.
