The only brand I will ever use. Easy to ignite time after time, no residual taste if no lighter fluid is used. Burns for ample time to cook your food. If your grill permits the fire to be smothered after use you can reuse the unconsumed briquets in your next fire, stretching a bag of charcoal to the limits. Quality stuff; the one and only.

we bought a new bag of Kingsford Match Light a week before Thanksgiving. We have a tradition of grilling our turkey, and have been using Kingsford for almost three decades. This year, however, it did not turn out well. I set up the grill, a Weber Kettle, as usual, put in the charcoal, AND IT WOULD NOT LIGHT. I finally had to resort to a sizeable dose of charcoal lighter fluid to start the coals, and even then, the coals did not get hot enough to adequately cook the turkey. I finally had to resort to finishing it on our gas grill, and still ended up with a delayed dinner. I don't know what happened to Kingsford, but will be looking for another alternative in the future.

We are Looong time users of KIngsford Charcoal. This season we bought a 2x20 lb package as we usually do. We do a lot of dutch oven cooking and the number of coals you use is important. We find the new coals don't last as long, so they are messing up our recipes. We found an older bag in our camper, and compared. The old briquet was at least 1/3 larger than the new ones. We have also found they don't last as long in our kettle cooker. Please go to the old tried and true.back

I have used Kingsford for as long as I have been barbacuing. It always lights well and stays lot long. When I lived in West Virginia, I had a grill designed like a stage coach, and I believe it came from Kingsford. My 4 grown children all use Kingsford, and we always will!

The only reason for recommending this charcoal is for the flavor, I've always used Kingford products, but I will have to say that the newer smaller briquets are not as good of quality and burn up faster and fall thru the grate. Once started, you had better be ready to throw the meat to it, because you only have a few minutes until, the fires out and only simmering. Change back to old formula and give us back full quantity. Still like Kingsford, just disappointed.

I have grown up with Kingsford and have always been happiest with the results i got from it. I am sorry to say I can no longer say that. Since the change in briquets they are smaller and don't work as well as they used to. Our entire family has noticed this , while the still work just fine for burgers and hot dogs, they fail for any longer cooking requirements like chicken.

We ALWAYS use Kingsford when charcoal grilling. We recently started using charcoal again after about 10 years of using a propane grill. We got out the old bag of briquettes and started them up. Worked great! when we ran out we bought a new bag. Our old dutch oven recipe called for exactly 14 briquettes on the botom and 4 on top. Always worked before! not with the new "improved" Kingsford! Took another 50% more time to cook the cobbler! Same for the dutch oven chicken. So we have to use more briquettes to achieve the result we want in the time we want. How's that for economy?!?! So it costs more, but Kingsfordd is still the best!

i only use kingsford charcoal i have worked with food my hole life iam a classicly trained butcher and chef who lives by the creed food is love is life so its safe to say that when it comes to grilling i only use charcoal and the best charcoal on the market is kingsford i have even went as far as to geting a tattoo of a kingsford bricket from the match light bag on my neck i even cook on a kingsford premium series grill so to sum things up all hail to the king!

I purchased last two season some Kingsford Original and and on two separate occasions, had about half briquettes with metal wires! in them. Contacted Kingsford, but the customer service lady wasn't too concerned about it and even told me to still use them as usual. I replied that this is unacceptable and would like the refund and she reluctantly promised to send 1 coupon to replace it. This poor quality and unconcerned customer service won't be tolerated in our household and we already switched to other brand. Also those briquettes are so light and don't burn as long as they used to. Sorry but, until I hear something else, my money will be spend on better quality. Mike,

I do bar-b-que: pigs (at least 300 lbs), pork roasts for pulling and I would never use any other charcoal than "The Original Kingsford". I find that it burns longer and more even. Very little waste. When I do a beef briscuit, it takes a slow and long cooking time and with Kingsford original I do not use that many bags, maybe one and a half another of the 20 lb. bags. The flavor certainly comes out very tasty (use cherry wood along with the charcoal). Good stuff.
