I am very happy with the performance of the new 960 vacuum b

I am very happy with the performance of the new 960 vacuum by irobot. Since I started using the 960 my floors are cleaner than they ever were before. Not because this is the most powerful vacuum ever, but because I use it every day. The vacuum is as close to set it and forget it as you are going to come. I set a scheduled time to start in the app and that is all it takes. Previous robot vacuums I have owned could never finish the job without me being around to empty the bin, or would get stuck under the couch every chance it got. With the 960 it goes under the couch with no issue, bin gets full during a cleaning, no problem, back to the charge station to empty itself and then back to work. This robot has also done a great job with pet fur. I have one long-haired dog and one with short hair. The robot picks up the hair with no issue, and the rubber roller sweeper makes it very easy to clean. Set up was very easy as well. Within 10 minutes of opening the boxes, I had the vacuum station set up, the robot charging, and had it work with Google Home. So far the only downside is that the 960 is a bit loud on hard floors. Run it when you're not home, no noise issue.

This vaccum does a great job in the areas that it actually c

The self dump feature is great to have and hopefully will continue to progress. This has issues when it comes to stairs and requires too much attention and defets the purpose of having a robot vaccum. If I need to attened to it multiple times a cleaning I may as well just vaccum myself. It cleans in nice lines but is very random where it goes and does not seem to map the areas well enough to recognize where it has gone and where it has not cleaned.

Disappointed on Carpets

We bought this to compliment a competitive brand that we moved downstairs after finishing our basement. Setup on the product was easy as expected and with the first use of the product I noticed right away how well it did on hard surfaces. However I am very disappointed about how poorly it picks up per hair on carpeted areas. It hardly seems to pick up any of the dog hair where there's carpet. Not very happy and I don't think I could recommend this product to anyone with pets.

Hello Dave, what you may be seeing could be what we call 'floor conditioning', which may happen during the initial few runs of your Roomba! Your Roomba is just trying to get your floor to a base level of clean that it can then maintain, so we would suggest running it for a few days in a row to allow it to get to that point! Gets under areas my old robot vacuum did not!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The iRobot Roomba i3 is much better than the cheaper BobSweep robot that I have. The i3 is not as tall as the BobSweep, which means it doesn't get stuck under some tables and chairs that the BobSweep. I knew I could just let it go without having to rescue it from under a piece of furniture. I also love the fact that it empties the bin automatically when it's needed, since that was a big drawback of the other robotic vacuum I have. I would say the one drawback is that it started to eat the placemat that I have under my dog's dishes, but I should have realized that would have happened. The only other thing I dislike is that the sound when it empties the bin into the other unit is really loud. I would absolutely buy this product, although I would really love it if they included the electronic "walls" so that I can use it only in certain areas. I also like the app, so I can see where it's been, and that I can just tell Alexa to start or stop the Roomba. I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family!

What would I do with out Ruby and Rowdy??

We have 2 iRobots and I can't tell you what a time saver they are! We have a split level home, so we have 2 robot upstairs and one robot downstairs. They give me the freedom to get other chores accomplished while they work on the floors. I feel so thankful to have the extra time to do additional cleaning and not have to worry about the floors. GREAT product!

stay away—buy something else

First off—it does a decent job of vacuuming. Second off — it’s never finished making it through our home. It keeps getting on any of our rugs and then throws the drop off error. It get hung up on the base either trying to get off of it or getting back on. The rugs we have are short pile and sometimes it works and other times it does. We are taking ours back as it is extremely frustrating moving it to a new location every time it detect a cliff while it’s sitting on a rug.

Other than some minor issues

Other than some minor issues with initial setup, usage of the vacuum has been almost completely hands free since I installed it. With the mapping technology and the vacuum base station, the i3 does a stellar job of cleaning, making its way back to home, and emptying its vacuum effortlessly.

Edge brush stopped working within 2 days, not real happy

Edge brush stopped working within 2 days, called and was told to send a video, then told they will send a new brush motor, I guess I work for IRobot now, I am expected to replace it which I am sure I can but REALLY! Brand New and I have to repair it. Should send me some bags and replacment rollers for working for them I think!

The iRobot i3 exceeds expectations

The iRobot i3 exceeds expectations but could use a few minor tweaks to make it even more perfect. Out of the box the i3 seemed like your run of the mill bump around the room robot vacuum. From it's round shape and front bumper, I wasn't expecting much from it. But that is where the similarities to my other brand robot stopped. The first thing I noticed was no babysitting! Seriously, I had to watch my other brand robot like a toddler. It was frustrating to say the least. But I gave the i3 a little more trust in hopes I could let it do it's thing. Clean. And that's what it did and did well. After a few days it had gotten better at cleaning and faster. What was this magic!?!? From what I could tell it was mapping out my house and finding faster ways to clean. That was one gripe. I couldn't find much literature on how the mapping worked. I'm a curious person so that bugged me. Not being able to figure how the mapping worked. The other bother was only having one brush in the front. It seemed like another brush could of have helped made cleaning that much faster. Because edge cleaning can only happen in a clock-wise fashion. But all in all this is one fantastic piece of cleaning tech that I can and will recommend to anyone.

Love it but...

This is our second iRobot, had 900+ for 2.5 years when hubby broke it. I replaced it with i3. But just like our first one it only connects to 2.4G WiFi and of course, we have 5G and no where could I find that listed until I was trying to connect it to WiFi. I've had this for several weeks and it is very chaotic still and we only have 1700 sq ft and one bedroom is closed off and it recharges 3 times every time. It definitely doesn't pick up like the old one, no kids or pets. It will run for 5-10 minutes then just quits for 2-3 seconds then resumes. Between it stopping periodically and recharging 3 times, it takes 6-7 hours to vacuum.

The Roomba i3+ is a model that will clean a directed area for up to 75 minutes (on hard surfaces). What is Roomba doing going over the same spots? Roomba is registering Dirt Detect events using it's incredibly intelligent design. Roomba makes over 60 decisions a second! With more scheduled cleaning, Roomba will establish a baseline of clean and register fewer Dirt Detect events. At this point, Roomba should be able to clean more of your home on a single charge. When it comes to connectivity, we recommend reaching out to your internet provider for assistance. Adding a 2.4ghz signal is a simple option provided for most home environments.
