I set it to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:00. He does a good job when he wants to, at least once a day, he gets lost, runs his battery down and i have to look for him, and with a dead battery , it is hard to find him. My first Roomba was smarter than this one. I gave it to my granddaughter and it is 3 years old and still working!!

I did not read bad reviews about the clean base or I would not have bought this model. I worry the clean base will only last short time as reviews indicate. My biggest gripe is the noise when the clean base suctions dirt out of bin into the clean canister bag is as loud as a jet plane taking off. Hurts my ears and my cat runs and hides. Next door neighbor said she can hear it. Horrible. Can't turn it off. It runs and make this horrible noise every time the robot returns to base. I'd return it but the hassle is hardly worth it so I'm considering spending the $75 to by a regular base rather than return the whole thing under warranty. This clean base idea is nice, nice to not have to empty fine dust out of bin but not worth the money if reviews indicate short life and the horrible noise, worst than any regular vacuum I've owned.

My initial thoughts of the i3+ is that its SOOOOO loud, I mean jet engine loud. I moved it to the laundry room instead of the main living area and that seemed to help that issue as it has to empty multiple times in one clean. My biggest issue is the the vacuum bag isn't reusable and they don't have any reusable options with the self emptying base. I have a husky and the bag fills up almost immediately. Also, at this price point I was unhappy to learn that this version doesn't actually have the option to tell it to clean a specific room. It maps out your home to clean it but only in the i7 can you request a specific room or spot be cleaned. If it was cheaper I would definitely keep it because it does make my life easier but its way too expensive to have this many issues so unfortunately I'm returning.

I have a dog who sheds profusely. When I read about the Roomba i3 associated with the fact that it is a pet hair vacuum, I knew this was a main factor in what I was looking for. There's no doubt this vacuum does just that. I'm so impressed how well this robot cleans every spec of dirt and hair from my floor. It will run its course, return to areas where it recognized to be more dirt than other areas. The self empty I'm so glad I have this... and it takes a long time before you have to replace a bag. Very compacted trash!!!

In a household with two dogs, I have resisted getting a robot vacuum under the assumption that it couldn't handle the volume of hair our dogs produce. I finally broke down when I learned that the i3 had a self-emptying feature. Overall, I'm pleased, but it's 4 out of 5 stars because I'd like it to perform better on carpet and run quieter. Pros -Perfect for daily maintenance -Cleans under furniture -Cleans the space systematically and thoroughly; rarely misses spots (the map in the app is such a nice feature!) -Never gets stuck and successfully avoids stairs -Dust bin bag lasts as long as expected (currently on week 4, and it seems like it'll go for another week or two) -Easy to clean. Dog hair gets stuck in the wheels and rollers, but it is easy to disassemble and clean it out every once in a while. Cons: -It takes a long time to clean. It cleans just 600 sq. ft. in about 3 hours (~2 hours of active cleaning, ~1 hour charge). -It's noisy. The dust bin emptying sounds like a loud shop vac, as other reviewers have mentioned, but at least that part is quick. I also find the vacuum itself to be pretty loud, which is a bummer considering it runs for 2 hours to clean the main level of our house. (We have wood laminate floors and high ceilings, which might be a factor.) -It doesn't handle carpet + dog hair very well (a medium-pile area rug or Berber carpet). It spits out tangles of dog hair on the carpet. -We receive errors messages about twice a week saying that the dust bin needs attention. We still haven't quite figured out why we're getting the messages, but it usually seems to sort itself out. It so much easier to keep the house clean with Herbert helping out during the week (I run our upright vacuum on the weekends for a deeper clean). I am pleasantly surprised by how well it has performed, despite its flaws. I would recommend for pet owners.

1 word of Caution-if you have a pet that is nervous, maybe don't run the robot when you're not home but your pet is. If the Robot comes into contact with "Pet Waste" the warranty is voided. So my dog is nervous around the robot and I mad the mistake of going to dinner the other night and being brilliant, thought that I'd run the bot for the first time with me out of the house. A few hours later; surprise, surprise. Luckily the robot stopped functioning after what appears to have been only a few minutes. Once I got the robot and house cleaned up, I proceeded to try to revive the robot. A few minutes later the robot is working but producing a wheel error. I did not want to admit the issue, so I just purchased a new right wheel assembly online and waited for it to arrive. The wheel assembly arrived and i replaced the original wheel with the new assembly and started the robot. Do my frustration the robot gave me the same error. At this point there was nothing to do but admit what happened to the iRobot customer service folks, which I promptly did. Upon calling and conveying the "Dog Poop" incident, which thanks to the customer service representative was renamed the "Pet Waste" incident, I heard the words regarding warranty, pet waste, and void. The rep asked me to hold the line for a moment so that they could see what they could do...The complementary robot is on the way. So a couple of points: The Customer Service is top notch, not just because they went out of there way to not just stop at the standard "blah, blah, blah voids the warranty, but they were extremely professional throughout. I actually wasn't upset when we reached the point of the void conversation, which is saying something as usually I'm mad by the time I reach a live body to discuss a service matter with with most company's customer support services. The Robot does an excellent job of collecting the dog hair and any thing else that one would normally sweep or vacuum up.

I was given a used base model that had a dead battery. I ordered a replacement battery and it works like new. I was so impressed by it, I went out and got the i3, self emptying model. I couldn't be happier. I had been considering maid service, to help me with dusting, floors, etc. I never liked the idea of strangers in my house though. My floors are constantly clean now, and it's a huge moral boost just knowing that the floors are taken care of.

I use this product every day for my first level which is mostly hardwood with one area rug. It does an okay cleanup but my biggest thing is how loud this vaccuum is. I have a child and would love to run this more often but it wakes him while he's sleeping. Very loud, not at all discreet. Also it takes about an hour and a half to do the one level which is fine but to hear that noise for such a long period time is awful. I resort to only putting it on when we are out of the house! The clean up it does on the hardwood is okay, does enough for maintenance but I still have to sweep pretty often. Overall it does a quick overview cleaning in a pinch but I definitely wouldn't replace my normal vaccuum with it!

I purchased this in late 2021 to use in a new house. Didn't start using it until late February 2022. I continuously get error message about cleaning the brushes, also something about "debris". I can never find anything wrong that needs cleaning. I thought it would be nice not to have to empty it but sometimes it goes back to the charging station a couple of time during a run to empty. I live by myself so the house is not that dirty. I have a confused vacuum cleaner! Definitely a waste of my money!

Overall a strong performer from IRobot with some stand out features, while missing basic functions. If you are looking for a set it and forget it robot, to clean an entire floor of your house, this robot will impress you. The self-emptying bin, while terrifyingly loud, is an incredible feature of this robot - not having to clean the bin after each cleaning is wonderful. The battery life is solid, and the ability to effectively clean is impressive as well- only occasionally missing a larger item like a cheerio or pea my kids are always dropping... That said, things are lacking on the software side; the app is incredibly user friendly, but at the cost of features and functions; you have the option to clean, schedule your cleaning, and see your history - No ability to set virtual walls, remote control the unit, designate a spot to cleanup, or to adjust the vacuum power and noise(sometimes its nice to set the vacuum to a low level for overnight cleaning). You also are unable to set program rooms into the unit; which means it will clean your entire space every time- I'd prefer my kitchen cleaned daily and the rest of the space cleaned every other day...Most people will be satisfied, but there are more robust options on the market; albeit likely without the amazing self emptying feature.
