My only con is that it tastes very strongly of baking soda. I really don’t want to taste it for the whole 2 minutes it takes to brush.

Its whitening properties really work, protecting against stains. The taste of baking soda is quite noticeable, which may not appeal to everyone, but personally, it doesn't bother me.
